Capillarity of clothes constitutes an efficient way to help men and women evaporate their sweat, and so keep their comfort by lowering their wetness. The mechanism of water transport from skin onto fabric for its evaporation is physically studied. A Cahn balance is used to measure the dynamic of such an effect, and to confirm the proposed theory. Yarn torque is one of the most important indexes of yarn quality, which is determined on the mechanical state of the constituent fibers and their configuration in the yarn. The fiber tension within a yarn was proposed to be the most influential factor governing the magnitude of yarn torque by Bennett and Postle. Therefore, the research on Sirospun yarn torque is investigated by analyzing the fiber tension at spinning triangle in this paper. Firstly, theoretical models of the fiber tension distributions at primary and final spinning triangles are presented, and corresponding residual torque within a yarn due to the fiber tension is given. The relationships between the yarn torque and the spinning triangle parameters are analyzed theoretically. Secondly, as an application of the proposed method, a modified Sirospun spinning system with an airflow false twisting device which can change spinning triangle parameters are investigated, and the properties of spun yarns produced by the modified system are evaluated and analyzed. It is shown that with the increasing airflow pressures, the Sirospun yarn shows a more and more uniform distribution of tensile and compressive stress within a yarn, and thus the yarn torque decreases correspondingly. 相似文献

Taking advantage of the gelation process of κ-carrageenan, we have developed a wet-spinning process to fabricate micro-scale fibers from κ-carrageenan. Effects of three important spinning parameters, i.e. coagulation bath composition, spinning rate and post-spinning mechanical drawing, on fiber morphological and tensile properties have been discussed. In the present report, we studied the addition of ι-carrageenan on thermal and rheological properties of the bicomponent gels and the fibers spun from them. It was found that κ- and ι-carrageenan underwent phase separation in the bicomponent gel. Upon addition of ι-carrageenan, the diameter and compliance of the blend fiber was increased. 相似文献
