Melamine, a nitrogen-rich chemical, has received much attention in recent years due to a series of highly publicized food safety incidents, including 2007 pet food recalls in North America and 2008 melamine contamination in milk, infant formula, and other milk-derived products in China. Current analytical methods for testing melamine are time-consuming, expensive, and labor-intensive. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the food science and analytical chemistry field to develop simple, quick, sensitive, and cost-effective methods for detection of melamine and its analogues (e.g., cyanuric acid, melamine cyanurate, ammelide, and ammeline) in food ingredients, processed food, and animal feed. This review aims to summarize traditional and novel analytical techniques that have been used or show great potential to detect, characterize, and quantify melamine and its analogues in foods and animal feed. 相似文献

A highlight summary of the chemistry and commercial manufacturing processes involved in making sodium silicates and sodium
aluminosilicates (zeolites) is presented. Some relative and current raw material costs and energy needs, and overall qualitative
economic comparisons of the various processes are discussed. Estimated world market consumption of both silicates and zeolites,
by geographical areas and by major applications, is reviewed. Market volume projections into the near future are ventured
on a worldwide basis, indicating substantial growth. Capacity to supply silicates in North America to 1983 is presently in
place, but most other geographical areas of the world will require increased manufacturing capabilities to keep in balance
with the projected market growth. It is suggested that zeolite production in the world will increase over fivefold by 1981,
due principally to the expected rapid growth of its use in detergent formulations. 相似文献

Original documents by L. P. Hammett and C. K. Ingold are presented which elucidate the origin of physical organic chemistry in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The field gained fast popularity, and within four decades created the presently accepted mechanistic model of organic chemistry. As the focus of research in organic chemistry shifted to synthesis around 1970, physical organic chemistry lost visibility, though mechanistic investigations became integral aspects of synthetic method development. While important subdisciplines of physical organic chemistry, e. g., supramolecular chemistry or mechanistic enzymology, continued to develop under separate headings, the systematic use of newly developed techniques (gas phase chemistry, laser spectroscopy, matrix isolation) is expected to lead to a renaissance of classical physical organic chemistry. 相似文献
