Because of outstanding optical properties and non‐vacuum solution processability of colloidal quantum dot (QD) semiconductors, many researchers have developed various light emitting diodes (LEDs) using QD materials. Until now, the Cd‐based QD‐LEDs have shown excellent properties, but the eco‐friendly QD semiconductors have attracted many attentions due to the environmental regulation. And, since there are many issues about the reliability of conventional QD‐LEDs with organic charge transport layers, a stable charge transport layer in various conditions must be developed for this reason. This study proposes the organic/inorganic hybrid QD‐LEDs with Cd‐free InP QDs as light emitting layer and inorganic ZrO2 nanoparticles as electron transport layer. The QD‐LED with bottom emission structure shows the luminescence of 530 cd m?2 and the current efficiency of 1 cd/A. To realize the transparent QD‐LED display, the two‐step sputtering process of indium zinc oxide (IZO) top electrode is applied to the devices and this study could fabricate the transparent QD‐LED device with the transmittance of more than 74% for whole device array. And when the IZO top electrode with high work‐function is applied to top transparent anode, the device could maintain the current efficiency within the driving voltage range without well‐known roll‐off phenomenon in QD‐LED devices.  相似文献

Since the first demonstration of light‐emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) in 1995, much effort has been made to develop this technology for display and lighting. A common LEC generally contains a single emissive layer blended with a salt, which provides mobile ions under a bias. Ions accumulated at electrodes facilitate electrochemical doping such that operation voltage is low even when employing high‐work‐function inert electrodes. The superior properties of simple device architecture, low‐voltage operation, and compatibility with inert metal electrode render LECs suitable for cost‐effective light‐emitting sources. In addition to enormous progress in developing novel emissive materials for LECs, optical engineering has been shown to improve device performance of LECs in an alternative way. Light outcoupling enhancement technologies recycle the trapped light and increase the light output from LECs. Techniques to estimate emission zone position provide a powerful tool to study carrier balance of LECs and to optimize device performance. Spectral tailoring of the output emission from LECs based on microcavity effect and localized surface plasmon resonance of metal nanoparticles improves the intrinsic emission properties of emissive materials by optical means. These reported optical techniques are overviewed in this review.  相似文献

Organic–inorganic lead halide perovskite materials have recently attracted much attention in the field of optoelectronic devices. Here, a hybrid piezoelectric nanogenerator based on a composite of piezoelectric formamidinium lead halide perovskite (FAPbBr3) nanoparticles and polydimethylsiloxane polymer is fabricated. Piezoresponse force spectroscopy measurements reveal that the FAPbBr3 nanoparticles contain well‐developed ferroelectric properties with high piezoelectric charge coefficient (d33) of 25 pmV−1. The flexible device exhibits high performance with a maximum recordable piezoelectric output voltage of 8.5 V and current density of 3.8 μA cm−2 under periodically vertical compression and release operations. The alternating energy generated from nanogenerators can be used to charge a capacitor and light up a red light‐emitting diode through a bridge rectifier. This result innovatively expands the feasibility of organic–inorganic lead halide perovskite materials for application in a wide variety of high‐performance energy harvesting devices.  相似文献

A systematic investigation of the nanoparticle‐enhanced light trapping in thin‐film silicon solar cells is reported. The nanoparticles are fabricated by annealing a thin Ag film on the cell surface. An optimisation roadmap for the plasmon‐enhanced light‐trapping scheme for self‐assembled Ag metal nanoparticles is presented, including a comparison of rear‐located and front‐located nanoparticles, an optimisation of the precursor Ag film thickness, an investigation on different conditions of the nanoparticle dielectric environment and a combination of nanoparticles with other supplementary back‐surface reflectors. Significant photocurrent enhancements have been achieved because of high scattering and coupling efficiency of the Ag nanoparticles into the silicon device. For the optimum light‐trapping scheme, a short‐circuit current enhancement of 27% due to Ag nanoparticles is achieved, increasing to 44% for a “nanoparticle/magnesium fluoride/diffuse paint” back‐surface reflector structure. This is 6% higher compared with our previously reported plasmonic short‐circuit current enhancement of 38%. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The cover shows an organic light‐emitting diode with remote metallic cathode, reported by Sarah Schols and co‐workers on p. 136. The metallic cathode is displaced from the light‐emission zone by one to several micrometers. The injected electrons accumulate at an organic heterojunction and are transported to the light‐emission zone by field‐effect. The achieved charge‐carrier mobility and in combination with reduced optical absorption losses because of the remoteness of the cathode may lead to applications as waveguide OLEDs and possibly a laser structure. (The result was obtained in the EU‐funded project “OLAS” IST‐ FP6‐015034.) We describe an organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) using field‐effect to transport electrons. The device is a hybrid between a diode and a field‐effect transistor. Compared to conventional OLEDs, the metallic cathode is displaced by one to several micrometers from the light‐emitting zone. This micrometer‐sized distance can be bridged by electrons with enhanced field‐effect mobility. The device is fabricated using poly(triarylamine) (PTAA) as the hole‐transport material, tris(8‐hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) doped with 4‐(dicyanomethylene)‐2‐methyl‐6‐(julolindin‐4‐yl‐vinyl)‐4H‐pyran (DCM2) as the active light‐emitting layer, and N,N′‐ditridecylperylene‐3,4,9,10‐tetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI‐C13H27), as the electron‐transport material. The obtained external quantum efficiencies are as high as for conventional OLEDs comprising the same materials. The quantum efficiencies of the new devices are remarkably independent of the current, up to current densities of more than 10 A cm–2. In addition, the absence of a metallic cathode covering the light‐emission zone permits top‐emission and could reduce optical absorption losses in waveguide structures. These properties may be useful in the future for the fabrication of solid‐state high‐brightness organic light sources.  相似文献

This report demonstrates a surface plasmon-enhanced polymer-based LED (PLED) architecture incorporating colloidal Ag nanoparticles in an all-solution fabrication process using orthogonal solvents. Oleylamine capping groups on the Ag nanoparticles provide an individual spacer layer for nanoparticles and prevent exciton dissociation and carrier trapping on Ag nanoparticles in this device structure. The large density of localized surface plasmon (SP) modes, strong exciton-SP mode coupling, and reduced cathode quenching achieved by Ag nanoparticles incorporation between the luminescent polymer and the metal cathode lead to a 20-fold luminance enhancement and a 50-fold current efficiency enhancement.  相似文献

Tribotronics is a new field about the devices fabricated using the electrostatic potential created by contact electrification as a “gate” voltage to tune/control charge carrier transport in semiconductors. In this paper, an organic tribotronic transistor is proposed by coupling an organic thin film transistor (OTFT) and a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) in vertical contact‐separation mode. Instead of using the traditional gate voltage for controlling, the charge carrier transportation in the OTFT can be modulated by the contact‐induced electrostatic potential of the TENG. By further coupling with an organic light‐emitting diode, a contact‐electrification‐gated light‐emitting diode (CG‐LED) is fabricated, in which the operating current and light‐emission intensity can be tuned/controlled by an external force–induced contact electrification. Two different modes of the CG‐LED have been demonstrated and the brightness can be decreased and increased by the applied physical contact, respectively. Different from the conventional organic light‐emitting transistor controlled by an electrical signal, the CG‐LED has realized the direct interaction between the external environment/stimuli and the electroluminescence device. By introducing optoelectronics into tribotronics, the CG‐LED has open up a new field of tribophototronics with many potential applications in interactive display, mechanical imaging, micro‐opto‐electro‐mechanical systems, and flexible/touch optoelectronics.  相似文献

A solution-processed bimetal nano-floating-gate, with a combination of stabilized Ag and Pt nanoparticles, is utilized to achieve high-performance organic field-effect transistor nonvolatile memories. The device based on the Ag–Pt nano-floating-gate shows the synergistic superiority in memory performance compared with the corresponding Ag-only and Pt-only devices. The Ag and Pt nanoparticles are found to prefer hole and electron trapping, respectively. Upon the blending of the Ag and Pt nanoparticles, both hole and electron trapping are significantly enhanced and thus realize a large memory window. The dipole enhancement induced local work function change for both Ag and Pt is proposed to be responsible for the synergistic effect, and this physical picture is supported by the electronic structure results. It is concluded that using a hybrid nano-floating-gate is a promising strategy to optimize the device performance of organic field-effect transistor nonvolatile memories.  相似文献

A stable self nano-aggregated bathocuproine film was fabricated and introduced atop of a conventional organic light emitting diode for enhancing top emission. It leads to a 2.7–2.1-fold enhancement on top emission at applied voltage from 4 to 9 V which is much larger than the 1.5–1.3-fold enhancement for a device overlaid with an amorphous bathocuproine film. The more effective outcoupling of this method probably arises from surface plasmon modes being scattered by only the nanostructured surface, and thus without phase cancellation, at the bathocuproine/air boundary. Moreover, this method nearly preserves the original electroluminescent spectra and has no damage on electrical properties.  相似文献

We report on the spectral tunability of white light by localized surface plasmon (LSP) effect in a colour converting hybrid device made of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) integrated on InGaN/GaN blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) are mixed with QDs for generating LSP effect. When the plasmon absorption of Ag NPs is synchronized to the QW emission at 448 nm, the NPs selectively absorb the blue light and subsequently enhance the QD emission. Using this energy transfer scheme, the (xy) chromaticity coordinates of the hybrid white LED was tuned from (0.32, 0.17) to (0.43, 0.26), and thereby generated warm white light emission with correlated colour temperature (CCT) around 1800 K. Moreover, a 47% enhancement in the external quantum efficiency (EQE) was realized.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs)are synthesized with chemical method, which are introduced into the traditional organic photovoltaic(OPV)structure. The experimental results show that both the optical and photoelectric properties are en-hanced because of localized surface plasmon(LSP)effects of Ag NPs.The advantage of adding Ag NPs behind active layer in incident direction is discussed. We believe this route can avoid absorption shadow and enhance the reusing of transmitted light of active layer. The average short-circuit current(J SC)of the optimum device can be raised from 9.23mA/cm2 to 10.84mA/cm2,and the energy converting efficiency(PCE)can be raised from 3.22% to 3.85%.  相似文献

A three-terminal organic light-emitting device with a periodic interrupted middle electrode is developed to allow for an adjustable emission color. The emission results from three independent light-emitting diodes with one diode utilizing exciplex emission. An equivalent electrical circuit is suggested taking the current–voltage characteristics and the direction of current flow through the organic structure into account. Two diodes are formed between the embedded middle electrode and the LiF/Al top and ITO bottom electrode, respectively, and the third diode utilizes that part of the device without the middle-electrode exhibiting exciplex emission. It will be shown that the spectrum of the emitted light can be tuned from blue to orange by controlling the applied potentials to the device terminals.  相似文献

A novel device structure for organic light‐emitting field‐effect transistors has been developed. The devices comprise bilayer‐crystal organic semiconductors of a p‐type and an n‐type. The pn‐junction can readily be formed by successively laminating two crystals on top of a gate insulator. This structure enables the efficient injection and transport of electrons and holes, leading to their effective recombination. As a result, bright emissions are attained. The devices are operated by AC gate voltages. Gate‐voltage phase‐resolved drain‐current and emission‐intensity measurements enable us to study the relationship between the emissions and carrier transport. The maximum external quantum efficiency reaches 0.045%.  相似文献

Networks of silver nanowires (AgNW) have been shown to facilitate high transparency, high conductivity, and good mechanical stability. However, the loose characteristic and local insulation problems due to gaps between the nanowires limit their application as electrodes. This study investigates an inkjet-printed Ag grid combined with AgNW to form a transparent hybrid electrode. The printed Ag grid on AgNW film connects the gaps between the Ag nanowires to increase the overall electric conductivity. The printed Ag-grid/AgNW hybrid electrodes have low resistivity (22.5 Ω/□) while maintaining a high transmittance (87.5%). These values are similar to standard indium tin oxide (ITO) on glass which has resistivity of 20Ω/□ and transmittance of 89% at 550 nm. In addition, these hybrid electrodes are also very flexible when fabricated on a photopolymer substrate. A spin-coating process combined with a peel-off process enable the fabrication of flexible ultra-smooth Ag-grid/AgNW electrodes. We tested the transparent and flexible electrode as the anode of a flexible organic light emitting diode (F-OLED). The light emitting layer of the F-OLED is 35 nm thick tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum doped with 0.5% 10-(2-benzothiazolyl)-2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1,1,7,7-tetramethyl-1H,5H,11H-(1)-benzopyropyrano(6,7-8-I,j)quinolizin-11-one. The maximum brightness and current efficiency of the F-OLED are 10000 cd/m2 and 12 cd/A, respectively, even when bent around a radius of 2 mm. The good performance of the device with Ag-grid/AgNW hybrid electrodes show that enhanced conductive inkjet-printed Ag nanoparticles combined with Ag nanowires can produce high quality electrodes for flexible organic optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

The strong tendency of organic nanoparticles to rapidly self‐assemble into highly aligned superlattices at room temperature when solution‐cast from dispersions or spray‐coated directly onto various substrates is described. The nanoparticle dispersions are stable for years. The novel precipitation process used is believed to result in molecular distances and alignments in the nanoparticles that are not normally possible. Functional organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs)—which have the same host–dopant emissive‐material composition—with process‐tunable electroluminescence have been built with these nanoparticles, indicating the presence of novel nanostructures. For example, only changing the conditions of the precipitation process changes the OLED emission from green light to yellow.  相似文献

A novel, efficient, cost‐effective, and high‐level security performance anticounterfeit device achieved by plasmonic‐enhanced upconversion luminescence (UCL) is demonstrated. The plasmonic architecture consists of the randomly dispersed Ag nanowires (AgNWs) network, upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) monolayer, and metal film, in which the UCL is enhanced by a few tens, compared to reference sample, becuase the plasmonic modes lead to the concentration of the incident near infrared (NIR) light in the UCNPs monolayer. In the configuration, both the localized surface plasmons (LSPs) around the metallic nanostructures and gap plasmon polaritons (GPPs) confined in the UCNPs monolayer, significantly contribute to the UCL enhancement. The UCL enhancement mechanism resulting from enhanced NIR absorption, boosted internal quantum process, and formation of strong plasmonic hot spots in the plasmonic architecture is analyzed theoretically and numerically. More interestingly, a proof‐of‐concept anticounterfeit device using the plasmonic‐enhanced UCL is proposed, through which a nonreusable and high‐level cost‐effective security device protecting the genuine products is realized.  相似文献

This paper reports the experimental results for the humidity dependent properties of an organic field effect transistor. The organic field effect transistor was fabricated on thoroughly cleaned glass substrate,in which the junction between the metal gate and the organic channel plays the role of gate dielectric.Thin films of organic semiconductor copper phthalocynanine (CuPc) and semitransparent Al were deposited in sequence by vacuum thermal evaporation on the glass substrate with preliminarily deposited Ag source and drain electrodes. The output and transfer characteristics of the fabricated device were performed. The effect of humidity on the drain current, drain current-drain voltage relationship, and threshold voltage was investigated. It was observed that humidity has a strong effect on the characteristics of the organic field effect transistor.  相似文献

Here, the use of metal oxide layers both for charge transport and injection into an emissive semiconducting polymer and also for the control of the in‐plane waveguided optical modes in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) is reported. The high refractive index of zinc oxide is used to confine these modes away from the absorbing electrodes, and include a nano‐imprinted grating in the polymer layer to introduce distributed feedback and enhance optical out‐coupling. These structures show a large increase in the luminescence efficiency over conventional devices, with photoluminescence efficiency increased by up to 45%. Furthermore, optically‐pumped lasing in hybrid oxide polymer LEDs is demonstrated. A tuneable lasing emission is also obtained in a single device structure by employing a graduated thickness of a zinc oxide inter‐layer. This demonstrates the scope for using such architectures to improve the external efficiency of organic semiconductor LEDs, and opens new possibilities for the realization of polymer injection lasers.  相似文献

A simple one‐pot approach based on the “benzyl alcohol route” is used for the preparation of benzoate‐ and biphenolate‐capped zirconia and, benzoate‐capped Eu‐doped zirconia nanoparticles. Powder X‐ray diffraction studies and high‐ resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR‐TEM) showed that the nanoparticles present high crystallinity and uniform particle sizes ranging from 3 to 4 nm. FT‐IR and solid state NMR (SS‐NMR) studies revealed that the nanoparticles are coated with a large amount of organic species when the reaction temperature is above 300 °C. It was found that the alcohol used as solvent is oxidized at the surface of the nanoparticles to the respective carboxylic acid which acts as a stabilizer, controlling the nanoparticles growth. The optical properties of these hybrid nanoparticles were studied by room and low (12K) temperature photoluminescence spectroscopy, time‐resolved spectroscopy and absolute emission quantum yield. The as‐synthesized benzoate‐ and biphenolate‐capped nanoparticles exhibit interesting emission properties in the UV and blue spectral regions together with values of emission quantum yields much higher than those reported for zirconia nanoparticles of similar size. The photoluminescent properties were attributed to a cooperative effect of the capping ligands and the defects associated to the ZrO2 nanoparticles. Due to the overlapping of the various emission components involved (i.e., the emission of europium(III) intra‐4f6 transitions, defects in the zirconia and capping ligands) a tunable emission color ranging from purplish‐pink to greenish‐blue could be obtained for the europium‐doped zirconia nanoparticles by simply selecting different excitation wavelengths.  相似文献
