 为了在802.11的网络中提供服务质量(QoS)支持,IEEE 802.11 Task Group E提出了EDCF协议.然而EDCF只能提供业务区分服务,并不能提供服务质量(QoS)保证.为了能在重负载下提供QoS保证,在WLAN中加入呼叫接纳控制(CAC)机制是非常必要的.本文首先提出了一个新的3维Markov模型对非饱和状态下EDCF的吞吐量和平均接入时延进行了分析.并在此基础上,提出了一种基于效用函数的CAC策略,它可以使网络的总收益达到最大.最后通过大量仿真验证了所提出的CAC策略的有效性.  相似文献

在共享媒体的通信系统中,队列调度的公平性是很重要的。该文在研究了IEEE WLAN已有的各种队列调度算法的基础上,提出了一种预测式公平队列调度算法 (Predict Fair Queuing, PFQ),并结合IEEE 802.11e的EDCF(Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function)机制提出一种基于PFQ的新的MAC层协议P-EDCF(PFQ-based EDCF)。该协议通过引进PFQ算法来修改EDCF的优先级控制方式,提供一种公平、高效的接入机制。仿真结果表明,该机制很好地改善了EDCF的性能,为各种类型业务提供了公平的服务。  相似文献

该文研究了差错信道下无线局域网加强分布协调功能(EDCF)的接入延时性能。利用马尔科夫模型的分析结果,提出了差错信道下针对不同优先级业务的接入延时分析模型并通过仿真验证了分析结果的准确性。仿真结果表明,IEEE 802.11 EDCF通过为不同优先级业务配置不同的接入参数满足各类应用的服务质量(QoS)需求。  相似文献

IEEE 802.11 wireless networks have gained great popularity. However, handoff is always a critical issue in this area. In this paper, we propose a novel seamless handoff mechanism for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks which support IEEE 802.11i security standard. Our approach consists of a dynamic tunnel establishing procedure and a seamless handoff mechanism. Both intra- and inter-subnet handoff cases are considered in our seamless handoff approach. Our work focuses on handoffs in DHCP-based IP networks rather than mobile IP-supported networks, but the proposed scheme can be easily tailored to mobile IP-supported networks.  相似文献

Wireless technologies provide mobile access and enable rapid andcost‐effective network deployment. But a wireless link is generally accompanied by high interference, transmission errors and a varying latency. The erratic packet losses usually lead to a curbing of the flow of segments on the TCP connection, and thus limit TCP performance. This paper presents a threshold control mechanism with cross‐layer response approach for improving TCP Vegas performance in IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. By making slight modifications to the legacy IEEE 802.11 MAC and TCP, the numerical results reveal that the proposed scheme provides a significant improvement in TCP performance under IEEE 802.11 wireless environments. Supporting Quality of Service (QoS) in wireless networks is a challenging problem. The IEEE 802.11 LAN standard was developed primarily for elastic data applications. In order to support the transmission of real-time data, a polling-based scheme called the point coordination function (PCF) was introduced in IEEE 802.11. However, PCF was not able to meet the desired and practical service differentiation requirements to fulfill the need of real-time data. Therefore, Task Group E of the IEEE 802.11 working group released several IEEE 802.11e drafts, whose main task is to support QoS in IEEE 802.11 LANs. The polling scheme of PCF is extended in IEEE 802.11e into the more complex hybrid coordination function (HCF). We found that HCF has several performance issues that may affect its anticipated performance. In this paper, we address these issues and propose a QoS enhancement over PCF, called enhanced PCF (EPCF) that enables Wireless LAN to send a combination of voice, data and isochronous data packets using the current IEEE 802.11 PCF. First, we compare the performance of the proposed model (EPCF) with the HCF function of the IEEE 802.11e through simulation. Second, we extend the proposed model (EPCF) to work in a multihop wireless ad hoc mode and present the advantages and limitations in this case. Simulation results demonstrate an enhanced performance of our scheme over the legacy PCF and a comparable performance to the IEEE 802.11e HCF in terms of the average delay and system throughput. However, EPCF is much simpler than HCF, provides flow differentiation, and is easy to implement in the current IEEE 802.11 standard.  相似文献

IEEE802.11p协议标准主要用于车载网络通信,有利于推动智能交通系统的实现,因此在实际交通环境下对IEEE802.1 1p协议进行研究具有重要意义.通过修改OpenWrt路由操作系统的ath5k网卡驱动实现了IEEE802.11p协议标准,并移植到Mikrotik RouterBoard433AH路由开发板上成功运行.在此基础上,对实际道路环境下IEEE802.11p协议和IEEE802.11a协议的发送速率、丢包率等网络性能参数进行了研究测量比较.实验数据显示在多障碍物、情况复杂的实际道路环境,IEEE802.11p协议更能满足通信可靠性和有效性的要求.  相似文献

Packet telephony is one of the most promising applications in the Internet. In this paper, we propose a modified MAC protocol supporting voice traffic over the IEEE 802.11 WLAN. The proposed scheme adapts the power-saved mode of the IEEE 802.11 specifications in such a way that it approaches the TDM access mode carrying voice traffic, and is compatible with the IEEE 802.11 standard. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme does not degrade the performance of the IEEE 802.11 WLAN using the DCF and also provides good voice quality  相似文献

This letter presents a novel analytic model that accurately evaluates the performance of a single-hop IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN). By using a closed queuing network, we model an IEEE 802.11 WLAN system that consists of a fixed number of stations and derive the saturated throughput of the IEEE 802.11 distributed coordination function (DCF). The ns-2 simulation results show that our new analysis model is very accurate in evaluating the performance of the IEEE 802.11 DCF.  相似文献

Design of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) needs to take into consideration the limited bandwidth available in the ISM band along with the noisy characteristics of the wireless environment and hidden terminal effects. In this paper we propose an enhancement for IEEE 802.11 standard that improves the WLAN support for multimedia applications. In the IEEE 802.11 PCF polling based protocol designed for multimedia applications support, the Point Coordinator (PC) polls each station in the Basic Service Area (BSA) individually. In the proposed SuperPoll approach the PC broadcasts at the beginning of the contention free period a SuperPoll, i.e., a message that includes the list of stations that will be polled during the current period. To improve the reliability of the polling based approach in a noisy environment, we propose to use a chaining mechanism in which each packet resends in its turn the SuperPoll message appended to its packet. We provide performance measurements of the proposed method in terms of channel efficiency and channel access time for multimedia applications that use the contention free period of IEEE 802.11 PCF. We notice that for noisy channels, the proposed method provides a dramatic throughput increase and delay decrease when compared with the Single Poll mechanism used in IEEE 802.11 PCF, thus providing better support for multimedia applications.  相似文献

Originally, Wireless Local Area Networks served only small indoor areas. Nevertheless, the idea of employing IEEE 802.11 networks in large outdoor environments is a very attractive possibility. IEEE 802.11 technology offers several advantages: the low cost of equipment, its operation in the unlicensed spectrum and its higher data rates. Since the advent of the first IEEE 802.11 standard, a great deal of research has been carried out. So-called Wifi-based Long Distance networks are currently being deployed. In this paper, we study the suitability of employing IEEE 802.11 networks in large outdoor environments without modifying the standard working procedure. In such scenarios, IEEE 802.11 networks should offer coverage ranges of several kilometer, which leads to high propagation delay values. Thus, we analyze the influence of increasing propagation delay in the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol. To carry out our analysis we present a mathematical model and simulation results. We provide an operating range in which IEEE 802.11 performance is feasible and establish a throughput threshold according to the propagation delay.  相似文献

A fair scheduling mechanism called distributed elastic round robin (DERR) is proposed in this letter for IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs operated in a distributed manner. To quantify the fairness, we not only derive its fairness bound, but also observe the fairness through ratios of throughput and weight using a simulation approach. By numerical comparisons among DERR, distributed deficit round robin (DDRR), and IEEE 802.11e, we demonstrate that DERR outperforms the other two mechanisms in performance and fairness.  相似文献
