Physical property data, phase equilibrium data, and predictive models are essential parts of process design and operation. With the support of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) of Korea, four universities collaborated to develop a thermophysical property databank and to obtain experimental data. In this paper topics related to the development and use of the thermophysical properties and phase equilibrium database are discussed. The databank contains about 4000 pure components and 5000 phase equilibrium data sets. Most of the data were collected along with the experimental uncertainties. Various estimation methods and thermodynamic models were included to calculate properties and phase equilibria. Data can be searched for with a stand-alone program or using an Internet web site. The current status and future prospects of the KDB (Korean Thermophysical Properties Databank) are discussed.  相似文献

Construction of integrated database including casting shapes with their casting design, technical knowledge, and thermophysical properties of the casting alloys were introduced in the present study. Recognition tech- nique for casting design by industrial computer tomography was used for the construction of shape database. Technical knowledge of the casting processes such as ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and their manufacturing process of the castings were accumulated and the search engine for the knowledge was developed. Database of thermophysical properties of the casting alloys were obtained via the experimental study, and the properties were used for the in-house computer simulation of casting process. The databases were linked with intelligent casting expert system developed in center for e-design, KITECH. It is expected that the databases can help non casting experts to devise the casting and its process. Various examples of the application by using the databases were shown in the present study.  相似文献

Research results are reported for a databank on the thermophysical properties of substances and materials, which covers researches in the Soviet Union and Russia between 1950 and 2000. An archive of 3475 documents has been set up, which provides bibliographic information on the publications containing the original experimental data and which has been implemented in the Lotus Notes environment. This paper presents a general review of the governmental activities in Japan on reference materials and evaluation of thermophysical properties data and then describes recent developments at the National Research Laboratory of Metrology (NRLM) in the field of thermophysical properties and related standards. As for reference materials, the past and present activities organized by the government and a few related associations are reviewed from the point of view of establishing traceability systems, whereas, on the evaluation of thermophysical properties, the framework of collaborative research for establishing data base systems by network sharing is mentioned. As the world's supply of thermophysical property data that emerges from the laboratory increases, users of data become more dependent on evaluated compilations. However, the cost of producing and maintaining such compilations by traditional methods is becoming prohibitively expensive. The traditional compiler searches the literature, extracts, evaluates, and analyzes pertinent data and gathers it into a document or electronic database that reflects the state of knowledge of a particular subject at a particular time. Because clef the inherent time lag, it never catches up to the current state. The attempt to catch up requires that the whole procedure be repeated at intervals, with greater cost for each cycle. A more cost-effective procedure, called dynamic compilation is described. Here the user produces a compilation to-order at the time of need. It uses a suitable archive of experimental data maintained up-to-date, an automated procedure for extracting and selecting the best pertinent data, and procedures for fitting the pieces to suitable models that furnishes parameters for internally consistent data sets. With proper design of components this procedure is more economical than and superior to the traditional static compilations.  相似文献

The electronic SURDAT database published in 2007 (available freely from the website ) is being integrated with the NIST database (available freely from ) to provide a single source for data on lead-free (Pb-free) soldering alloys. The NIST database was developed to support circuit board designers, and so it is focused primarily on mechanical properties. In contrast, the SURDAT database is focused primarily on thermophysical properties. Together, they will form a much more complete source for the properties of Pb-free solder alloys.  相似文献

It has long been understood that availability of thermophysical and thermochemical property data is vital to scientific research and industrial design. For over 65 years, the Thermodynamics Research Center (TRC) has been publishing tables of critically evaluated data covering physical and thermodynamic properties of pure compounds, TRC Tables-Hydrocarbons and TRC Tables-Non-Hydrocarbons. Over their long history, the TRC Tables have always been valued as a reputable source of evaluated thermophysical and thermodynamic data. To facilitate more flexible, convenient, and up-to-date access to the data, here, we present the release of the on-line version of the TRC tables, Web Thermo Tables (WTT). Presently, WTT contains data for 7838 compounds and over 950,000 evaluated data points. The tabulated information includes critical properties, vapor pressures and boiling temperatures, phase transition properties, volumetric properties, heat capacities and derived properties, transport properties, reaction state-change properties, as well as index of refraction, surface tension, and speed of sound. Various search options and data plotting capabilities are provided via the Web interface. WTT are distributed through the NIST Standard Reference Data Program [1].  相似文献

Results are presented from a project undertaken to develop a database for properties of organic compounds relevant for geochemistry and environmental chemistry. The database includes critically assessed standard thermodynamic properties in aqueous solution, properties of pure compounds at ambient conditions, and bibliographic references. All information stored in the databases is accessible through a web interface, which includes calculation modules for evaluating properties at elevated temperatures and pressures. A database for the thermophysical properties of hydrogen that supports a wide range of parameters including high pressures and high temperatures is being developed. The database performance requirements were studied and, in this paper, an application that combines a server–client database and a live CD is proposed. For this, an “All in One Live CD” application has been developed. Web interfaces provide excellent user interfaces for databases. However, there are some disadvantages for web interfaces related to server maintenance and access restrictions. This new application, the “All in One Live CD,” is free of these disadvantages, and provides a database with a property estimation service independent of the computer environment. From a single boot via the “All in One Live CD,” the database becomes accessible on multiple computers so that this feature makes the new application a unique solution as a distribution media.  相似文献

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a primary function to develop and disseminate standard reference data for the thermophysical properties of fluids and fluid mixtures of interest to the industrial and scientific communities. In this paper we discuss five computerized databases distributed by the Standard Reference Data (SRD) Program of NIST. The databases provide national standards for the properties of pure fluids, an accurate evaluated mixture program focusing on the properties of natural gas mixtures, a predictive package emphasizing hydrocarbon systems up to C20, database for refrigerant and prospective alternative refrigerant fluids, and the current scientific thermophysical property surfaces for pure water and steam. The databases include both thermodynamic surfaces and representations for transport properties over broad ranges of temperature. pressure, and composition. Some recent developments in the areas of measurement, prediction, and correlation of thermophysical properties and phase behavior are reviewed. However. important problems remain, and some of these are not being addressed. Here a number of thermophysical properties problem areas are identified based on the prejudices of the author and a small survey of friends and colleagues in industry and academia. Many of the problems arise as result of changes in industrial emphasis, for example, from chemicals to materials and pharmaceuticals, changes in federal or local regulations permitting lower air and water emissions, changes in technology, and an interest in determining the fate of chemicals in the environment. Some of the research needs, both experimental and theoretical. to deal with these problems are discussed.  相似文献
