Broadbanding of corrugated conical horns is investigated with the ring-loaded corrugated circular waveguide (RCWG) structure devised by the authors. The useful frequency bandwidth in which the corrugated horn is effective for the improvement of antenna properties is limited by the frequency characteristics of the horn-aperture field and input VSWR of the horn. By the precise analysis of the RCWG, the maximum frequency range in which the desirable field is obtained is much wider than that in the conventional corrugated circular waveguide, and is achieved almost independent of ring thickness, when ring width is about 20 percent of slot depth. The characteristic impedance of the RCWG is nearly equal to that of the homogeneous circular waveguide when ring thickness becomes large. Therefore, a good transformer between the RCWG and the homogeneous circular waveguide is achieved by increasing ring thickness from the RCWG toward the homogeneous waveguide. From the above investigations, it is found that in the ring-loaded corrugated horn, the useful bandwidth is 1.35 times broader than that in the conventional corrugated horn. The theoretical results are verified by the experimental results.  相似文献

It is shown that a specially profiled corrugated horn with a ring-loaded input converter section is capable of operating over bandwidth ratios of up to 2.4: 1. The cross polarization across the band is relatively low, and the change in beamwidth and phase-center position with frequency is acceptable for many applications. This "compact" horn is significantly smaller than the conventional wide-band corrugated horn, and is particularly recommended as a feed in a dual-reflector antenna where space is limited.  相似文献

A hybrid-mode horn antenna has been analyzed theoretically and experimentally. It consists of a conical metal horn with a dielectric core inside, separated from the metal wall by another dielectric layer with lower permittivity than for the core material. It is characterized by a very simple design and excellent electrical performance. The horn can support the balanced hybrid HE11-mode, and exhibits low cross polarization and low sidelobes over a wide frequency range. Compared to corrugated horns, the new horn has a simpler design, is easier to analyze, and has the potential of similar cross-polar bandwidth as for corrugated horns with ring-loaded corrugations. Drawbacks are the effects of dielectric losses. Thus the new horn represents an attractive alternative to the corrugated horn antenna.  相似文献

设计了一种新型太赫兹(THz)超高斯波纹喇叭天线。它由正弦曲线部分和线性平行部分组成,可同时激励起HE11和HE12两种模式。该天线工作的中心频点为0.34 THz,带宽大于40 GHz。在本文设计中,高斯基模的能量耦合效率可提高到99.8%。同时具有-37 dB的旁瓣电平和-50 dB的交叉极化特性。仿真和实测结果也表明此天线的优良性能,可以看出仿真结果与实测结果非常吻合。  相似文献

单脉冲跟踪以其精度高、速度快等优点而被广泛应用于跟踪中、低轨卫星通信天线中.本文工作研究单槽深波纹喇叭的差模临界截止点和电压波腹点,通过提取波纹槽差模信号,设计了具备L频段单脉冲跟踪能力的L/S双频共用喇叭天线.实际测试结果表明,在L/S频段该喇叭具有良好阻抗匹配特性和辐射方向图旋转对称特性,且L频段差模信号实现了单脉冲跟踪能力,该喇叭天线电气性能满足工程应用要求.  相似文献

The theory of corrugated conical horn operating at multi-frequency bands is described,and aprqactical corrugated conical horn is constructed.It can operate at three frequency bands(4,6,11 GHz)atleast.The cross polarization peak level is better than -25 dB at 4,6 GHz frequency bands,and the amplitudepattern at 11 GHz frequency band is also very good.It is shown theoretically and experimentally that thecorrugated conical horn operating at multi-frequency bands is the best condidate for multi-frequency bandfeeds.  相似文献

This paper discusses a type of multimode monopulse feed using corrugated circular waveguide. The ‘ difference ’ or error-signals are derived from the TE01, and/or TM01 modes, whereas the ‘ sum ’ or reference-signal is provided by the so-called hybrid modes. The optimization of the overall tracking performance is carried out in two steps. The horn dimensions are first chosen to give the optimum ‘ difference ’ mode illumination, then the ‘ sum ’ mode efficiency is optimized by shaping the ‘ sum ’ pattern with the aid of higher-order hybrid modes. It is shown that the performance of a corrugated waveguide monopulse feed is, in many respects, superior to that of its conventional counterpart.  相似文献

波纹喇叭天线是一种结构紧凑、具有良好辐射性能的馈源天线,特别是轴向槽波纹喇叭天线可以在宽频段内实现极低的交叉极化,对扩展工作频段、实现极化复用有重要的价值。文章对轴向槽波纹喇叭天线的设计方法进行了研究,利用模式匹配法和全波算法软件设计了一种Ka频段超低交叉极化宽频带轴向槽波纹喇叭天线。实测数据表明,该喇叭天线工作频段可覆盖整个Ka频段(26.5~40 GHz),在频段内回波损耗小于-20 dB、交叉极化小于-45 dB,同时天线具备良好的方向图对称性和相位中心稳定性,在卫星通信领域具有广阔的应用前景。  相似文献

本文阐述了波纹圆锥喇叭的多频段工作原理,并介绍了一个至少能在4,6和11 GHz三个频段共用的波纹圆锥喇叭。此喇叭在4,6 GHz频段的交叉极化峰值优于-25dB,在11GHz频段的幅度方向图性能优良。理论和实践表明,使用不止在一个工作区工作的波纹圆锥喇叭可以实现多频段共用的馈源喇叭。  相似文献

Typical example of horn is shown where the inside wall is manufactured in a succession of slots and "teeth". The purpose of the corrugated surface is to provide the means to support the propagation of hybrid modes within the horn. Hybrid modes are basically a combination of TE and TM modes. Some basic information for the inexperienced horn designer to get started in designing their corrugated horn is provided. The class of circularly symmetrical corrugated horns and the parameters in designing are considered. We have developed a 150 GHz band corrugated feed horn. These corrugated feed horns have been established by a new machining method, which involves digging corrugations through a metal material. We were able to realize E plane and H plane symmetry, low side lobe level, and low cross-polarization level. Measured co-polarization beam patterns above ??35 dB were consistent with the simulated patterns within a designed frequency range. The peak levels of cross-polarization beam patterns were less than ??30 dB. And, the performances were uniform in several horns. In the present paper, we describe the corrugated horn produced by this methods.  相似文献

The radiation characteristics of diagonal horns are investigated by means of Gaussian-Hermite modes. It is shown that, for reasonably long horns, the beamwidths in the principal and 45° planes are equal to within 10%, and all sidelobes are below -15 dB. It is also demonstrated that the phase center of a diffraction-limited horn is close to the aperture, whereas the phase center of a constant-beamwidth horn is behind the throat. The maximum coupling to the lowest order copolar Gaussian mode is 84%, and the total amount of power coupled into the cross-polarized lobes is 9.5%. More significantly, the aperture efficiency of a Cassegrain antenna fed by a diagonal horn has a maximum value of 81%, which compares with 87% for a corrugated horn. The maximum efficiency is achieved when the aperture of a diffraction-limited horn is placed at a confocal tertiary focus, although a secondary focus gives an aperture efficiency that is only 10% lower, suggesting that diagonal horns are suitable for focal-plane arrays  相似文献

A simpler solution for spherical hybrid modes in corrugated conical horns has been shown to have a deviation from the rigorous solution of less than 0.7 dB for the case considered by Clarricoats. 针对传统分波器影响高频方向图的问题,提出了一种新型的Ka/EHF频段分波器设计方法。与传统分波器相比,该分波器具有低损耗、低驻波、高频段隔离的优点,其通过使用皱褶波纹滤波器和sin^2曲线过渡,实现了Ka、EHF频段信号的低损耗分离,分布式参数综合设计的波纹滤波器对高频信号产生了极佳短路面,sin^2函数曲线过渡较好地抑制了高次模。设计、加工和测试了样机,接收频段的回波损耗小于-22 dB,发射频段的回波损耗小于-25.2 dB,仿真结果与测试结果基本吻合,验证了方法的正确性和有效性。  相似文献

An approximate analysis of fields in a corrugated horn is considered using spherical hybrid modes. Under the special condition where the slots are about a quarter-wavelength deep, the approximations are slight in the far-field region of the horn. Solutions are presented for the lowest-order spherical hybrid modes, and a procedure is described for the determination of the horn radiation pattern. A first step in the procedure involves the calculation of the hybrid-mode field in the horn aperture. Because diffraction will be minimal in wide-angle corrugated horns, the aperture and radiation patterns should be similar when the far-field approximation applies. This feature is verified for a 120° horn making use of experimental results due to Kay.  相似文献
