Link‐16 is a tactical data link currently used by North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries, the United States and its allies. The Link‐16 waveform features Reed–Solomon codes for channel coding, cyclic code‐shift keying for 32‐ary baseband symbol modulation, minimum‐shift keying for waveform modulation, and frequency hopping for transmission security. In addition to the original errors‐only decoding of Reed–Solomon codes, both an errors‐and‐erasures decoding (EED) and a special concatenated coding are proposed in this paper to determine a better channel coding scheme for a Link‐16 waveform with noncoherent detection in the presence of pulsed‐noise interference (PNI). The investigation is first carried out both analytically and by simulation for the original Link‐16 waveform transmitted over AWGN. It is then accomplished analytically for the proposed waveforms in both AWGN and PNI. The results show that EED achieves the best error rate performance for a Link‐16 waveform in both AWGN and PNI when the signal‐to‐noise ratio is relatively small. When both the signal‐to‐noise ratio is sufficiently large and the fraction active time of PNI is small, the proposed concatenated coding outperforms both EED and errors‐only decoding. It is known that concatenated coding can significantly enhance the performance of digital communication systems operating over fading channels when compared to uncoded or single-coded systems. The price to be paid for such an improvement, however, is a substantial increase in the required bandwidth. In this paper, we consider the use of a concatenation scheme in which the inner code is a trellis-coded modulation (TCM) system. The analysis is carried out for two different outer codes: a binary Golay code and a non-binary Reed-Solomon code. Results obtained for the Rayleigh and Rician fading channels through analytical bounds indicate that the use of this system does provide a significant reduction in the bit error probability, a fact that is also verified through computer simulation. Unlike a traditional concatenated system, the proposed method achieves the coding gain while maintaining acceptable bandwidth efficiency.  相似文献

In this paper,we have compared the performance of joint network channel coding(JNCC) for multicast relay network using low density parity check(LDPC) codes and Convolutional codes as channel codes while exclusive or(XOR) network coding used at the intermediate relay nodes.Multicast relay transmission is a type of transmission scheme in which two fixed relay nodes contribute in the second hop of end-to-end transmission between base transceiver station(BTS) and a pair of mobile stations.We have considered one way and two way multicast scenarios to evaluate the bit error rate(BER) and throughput performance.It has been shown that when using XOR network coding at the intermediate relay nodes,the same transmission becomes possible in less time slots hence throughput performance can be improved.Moreover we have also discussed two possible scenarios in the proposed system model,in which both diversity and multiplexing gain has been considered.It is worth notifying that BER and throughput achieved for LDPC codes is better than Convolutional codes for all the schemes discussed.  相似文献

相比基于XOR的网络编码协作方案,网络乘积编码协作方案是一种更有前景的抗衰落技术,既能明显地提高误码率性能,又能减少网络中所需要的中继个数。基于协作多址接入场景设计了一种多元网络乘积编码协作方案,通过深入的理论分析表明所构建的网络乘积码能实现近似高斯权重分布,从而能明显地提高误码纠错率。仿真结果也验证了该协作方案相比传统网络乘积码能获得更高的误码率性能。  相似文献

提出了采用低密度奇偶校验码的分布式联合信源信道网络编码方案,应用于两源一中继一目的节点的无线传感器网络中.在方案中,信源节点通过传输系统信道码的校验位与部分信息位,同时实现了信源压缩与信道纠错.中继节点有效利用数据的相关性进行译码,并进行部分数据比特删余,减少因中继端网络编码引起的错误传播,仿真验证了方案的有效性.应用了不等差错保护思想,更贴近实际应用场景,利于目的节点进行更好的低误差解码.  相似文献

由T.A.Welch提出的LZW数据压缩方法已经被广泛地应用于文字压缩。然而,因为误码对压缩数据的危害很大,所以对压缩数据的纠错编码是十分重要且必不可少的。本文分析了误码对LZW压缩数据的影响,指出同样的误码对用于重建辞书的前一部分压缩数据的危害比对后面的其它数据的危害要严重得多,提出用一种不均一两分段误码保护编码方法,对用于重建辞书的前一部分压缩数据进行更好地保护。计算机模拟显示,该方法比传统的误码保护方法更有效。  相似文献

It is demonstrated how modulation schemes based on QPSK can be directly incorporated into QAM-based systems. It is argued that this leads directly to an easily implementable structure that is both efficient in bandwidth and data reliability. It is contended that the correct solution to the concatenated coding problem for HDTV transmission is to simply extend the modulation codes developed for QPSK-to-QAM modulation. In nonconcatenated situations, a trellis code based on a binary code at rate 2/3 is usually best. However, this is not the case for higher error rates at the output of the trellis decoder (e.g., when a symbol error correcting decoder follows as a concatenated code). The reason for this follows from an analysis of the effect of the number of nearest neighbors on the error rate. A four-way partition of QAM is a natural extension of QPSK modulation; it is a simple matter to incorporate any good QPSK code into a trellis coding scheme for QAM modulation. A concatenated coding scheme based on QPSK trellis codes and symbol error correcting coding is proposed. An example is presented to show the advantages of this approach  相似文献

In this paper the performance of a concatenated coding scheme is evaluated over a slow Rayleigh fading HF ionospheric link with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Well‐known Ungerboeck TCM techniques onto an 8‐PSK signal set are used as inner codes and Reed–Solomon block codes as outer codes. The coded/modulated signal is further differentially encoded before transmission to combat random phase changes. Block interleaving techniques are necessary to randomise long bursts of errors caused by the fading channel. The performance of the proposed concatenated coding system is investigated for various Doppler spreads. Significant coding gains are achieved over uncoded, diversity or other conventionally coded systems with a small bandwidth expansion. LDPC码是一种具有低复杂度,强纠错能力的信道分组编码结构,SPIHT算法是嵌入式小波图像压缩编码中性能较好的一种。文中充分考虑SPIHT算法和LDPC码的特性,提出了根据信源编码后的数据在解码重建时的重要程度进行不等纠错保护的信源信道联合编码方案。实验表明,该方案有利于压缩图像在噪声信道上的可靠传输,提高系统整体纠错性能。  相似文献

无线光MIMO技术结合了天线发射分集、接收分集与信道编码分集,可以显著提高信道容量。介绍了笔者在分层空时编码方面的若干研究进展,分析了误码率特性与发射/接收天线数目、检测算法之间的关系,比较了水平分层空时码、螺旋分层空时码、对角分层空时码和垂直分层空时码不同的编码方案,以及不同检测算法对不同的湍流强度的抑制作用。经分析得出:三种分层空时编码性能最好的是对角分层空时编码,其次是螺旋分层空时编码,最后是水平分层空时编码。  相似文献

In code division multiple-access (CDMA) systems, maximum total throughput assuming a matched filter receiver can be obtained by spreading with low-rate error control codes. Previously, orthogonal, bi-orthogonal and super-orthogonal codes have been proposed for this purpose. We present in this paper a family of rate-compatible low-rate convolutional codes with maximum free distance. The performance of these codes for spectrum spreading in a CDMA system is evaluated and shown to outperform that of orthogonal and super-orthogonal codes as well as conventionally coded and spread systems. We also show that the proposed low rate codes will give simple encoder and decoder implementations. With these codes, any rate 1/n, n⩽512, are obtained for constraint lengths up to 11, resulting in a more flexible and powerful scheme than those previously proposed  相似文献

基于MIMO天线系统的空时编码技术是改善无线通信性能、提高带限系统数据速率的一种理想选择。但是由于正交空时分组码不能保证数据全速率传输,为此提出一种改进的准正交空时分组码设计方案。该编码方法利用准正交准则,能够保证数据以全速率传输。并在此基础上具体讨论和分析了编码的编、译码算法和误码性能。该编码方法既不降低分集增益也不增加译码复杂度,并且可以获得一定的编码增益。仿真结果表明,这种方法的误比特率无论在低信噪比还是在高信噪比条件下都要优于已有的准正交空时分组码——Jafarkhani码。  相似文献

In this article a new coding scheme, complement block coding (CBC), is proposed to reduce the PAPR of OFDM signals. This method utilizes the complement bits that are added to the original information bits, which can effectively reduce the PAPR of OFDM signals with random frame size N and the coding rate R /spl les/ (N - k)/N, where k is a positive integer and k /spl les/ N/2. The performance results obtained with CBC are given and compared with that of some well known schemes, such as simple block coding, modified simple block coding, simple odd parity code, and cyclic coding, for the same purpose. The results show that at the same coding rate 3/4, CBC can achieve almost the same performance as SBC and MSBC, but with lower complexity, and the same performance can be obtained with a higher coding rate using CBC. The PAPR reductions of CBC with coding rate (N - 1)/N are almost the same as with a coding rate less than (N - 1)/N, but almost the twice as these of SOPC when N /spl ges/ 16. Moreover, we can find that PAPR is the lowest for all block codes using CBC with coding rate 3/4. So modified CBC (MCBC) is also proposed and analyzed, combined with the subblock processing technique to make CBC effective for OFDM systems with large frame sizes. The flexibility in coding rate choice and low complexity make the proposed CBC more suitable for random frame size with high coding rate and can also provide error detection.  相似文献

In this paper, we present bandwidth efficient selective retransmission method in conjunction with adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scheme for OFDM waveform. In the proposed method, when a packet failure occurs, receiver requests retransmission of information symbols prone to error corresponding to the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) sub-carriers of OFDM modulation. The selective retransmission avoids unnecessary retransmission and AMC chooses a proper modulation and coding scheme with an objective to maximize the throughput. Our method achieves higher throughput as compared to conventional retransmission methods such as Chase combining hybrid automatic repeat reQuest (CC-HARQ) and incremental redundancy hybrid automatic repeat reQuest (IR-HARQ). We also provide the throughput and delay analysis of the proposed method for non-truncated ARQ. The simulation results demonstrate throughput gain without significant impact on delay as compared to the conventional retransmission approaches.  相似文献

Trellis coded modulation (TCM) is a bandwidth efficient transmission scheme that can achieve high coding gain by integrating coding and modulation. This paper presents an analytical expression for the error event probability of concatenated space-time block coding with TCM which reveals some dominant factors affecting the system performance over slow fading channels when perfect interleavers are used. This leads to establishing the design criteria for constructing the optimal trellis codes of such a concatenated system over slow flat fading channels. Through simulation, significant performance improvement is shown to be obtained by concatenating the interleaved streams of these codes with space-time block codes over fading channels. Simulation results also demonstrate that these trellis codes have better error performance than traditional codes designed for single-antenna Gaussian or fading channels. Performance results over quasi-static fading channels without interleaving are also compared in this paper. Furthermore, it is shown that concatenated space-time block coding with TCM (with/without interleaving) outperforms space-time trellis codes under the same spectral efficiency, trellis complexity, and signal constellation.  相似文献
