全光网(AON,all-opticalnetwork)以波长路由光交换技术和波分复用传输技术(WDM)为基础,它的网络节点由光分插复用器和光交叉连接器构成,能在光域上实现高速信息流的传输、交换、路由和故障恢复等功能。光交叉连接器(OXC)与光分插复用器(OADM)是全光网中最重要的网络器件,是真正实现全光网关键性功能的必要前提,也是目前国内外光通信器件厂商研究和开发的热点。本文结合全光网的发展,介绍了光交叉连接器(OXC)、光分插复用器(OADM)与掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)的基本原理以及全光网的交换技术,对光通信网和传统通信网进行了比较与讨论,并介绍了我国和国外在全光通信网上的发展状况。 相似文献

An Optical Layer Lightpath Management Protocol for WDM AONs 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this work, we propose a control protocol for lightpath management in the optical layer of all-optical networks (AONs). AONs follow a layered structure, as used by various network standards, where each layer communicates with its peer through Protocol Data Units (PDUs). In the context of Open System Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model (RM), a new layer, called optical layer, has been introduced in the AON architecture to manage the lightpath related functions. The optical layer lies in between the physical layer and the data link layer. The objective of this paper is to define a specification for an optical layer protocol for managing lightpaths in AONs. In order to study the dynamics of the optical layer protocol system, we first employ the communicating finite state machine model to represent the protocol. Then a reachability analysis of the model is performed to verify the protocol. This paper shows how the optical layer protocol can be specified formally and made error-free by the step-wise refinement of an initial specification, where validation is done after each refinement. 相似文献

All-optical networks (AONs) are emerging as the next generation broadband networks for both wide-area and local-area networks. New optical devices such as wavelength routers, and wavelength division switches are currently being developed to realize these AONs. In this paper, we examine “dual” properties that exist among “space”, “time”, and “wavelength” in multiplexed signals in AONs. This observation will clarify relationships among architectural alternatives and suggest novel space-time-wavelength switching structures. It will also lead to a performance analysis of all-optical networks, by exploiting some well studied results obtained for classical circuit switched systems. The passive optical network (PON) technology has been drastically improved in recent years. In spite of using the optical technology, the utilization of the entire bandwidth is a very challenging task. The main categories of PON are the Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) and gigabit passive optical network (GPON). These two networks use the dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) algorithm to attain the maximum usage of bandwidth, which is provided in the network dynamically according to the need of the customers with the support of the service level agreement (SLA).
