Target tracking in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) environment is a challenging research problem. Interactive Multiple Model (IMM) is a popular scheme for accurate target tracking. The existing target tracking scheme used in WSN employs Kalman Filter (KF) which fails to track the target accurately due to non availability of target data at regular intervals and missing of packets. Though existing KF based tracking in WSN scheme detects the target, it fails to identify the target. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a IMM based Target Tracking in WSN named ITTWSN that uses multiple models (velocity and acceleration) to handle both maneuvering and non maneuvering targets and multiple sensors to detect and identify the targets. The performance of the proposed ITTWSN is compared with the KF scheme and it is found that the accuracy of the proposed ITTWSN is better than the existing KF based approach. 相似文献

Web service composition can help software developer design more powerful and flexible applications according to requirements of enterprise. But during compositing, how to discover suitable web services is a critical problem in design and implementing application-oriented web service technologies. The traditional keyword-based matchmaking approach is difficult to help developer to find suitable service. Current researches find that to attaching semantics to each registered service can help improve the precision of matchmaking. The improvement can help developer find more suitable service for business process. This paper proposes a novel approach of semantics-based matchmaking, which is named process-context aware matchmaking. The process-context aware matchmaking discovers the suitable service during web service composite modeling. During matchmaking, the approach utilizes not only semantics of technical process but also that of business process of a registered service, thus further improving the precision of matchmaking. We integrate the process-context aware matchmaking with business-process-driven web service composition in an integrated development environment based on Eclipse. The performance evaluation shows that performance overhead of this novel approach is acceptable. 相似文献

Service system design process is complex in nature and involves many stakeholders. The process becomes more critical in the context of machine tools due to market competition, complexity of services, competency requirements and cost constraints. The objective of this paper is to propose a generic approach for the design of a service system for machine tools which can support a variety of business models along with meeting customers’ demand for flexibility. The proposed approach makes use of fundamental service design steps and offers flexibility to the customers to choose the services, service mechanisms, service levels and service frequencies as per their requirements considering the economic aspects, and thus underlines the involvement and participation of customers in the service design process. It also facilitates service designers to visualize the roles of stakeholders involved in the service process and highlights the importance of customer involvement for customer service assurance and better service experience. With rapid development of service-oriented architecture and cloud computing, web services have been widely employed on the
Internet. Quality of Service (QoS) is a very important criterion for service consumers to measure and select services. The
selection of web services with respect to non-functional QoS criteria can be considered as a Multiple Criteria Decision Making
(MCDM) problem when multiple consumers need to share a number of services. This paper describes a new user centric service-oriented
modeling approach which is featured by integrating fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution
(TOPSIS) and Service Component Architecture (SCA) to facilitate web service selection and composition and to effectively satisfy
a group of service consumers’ subjective requirements and preferences in the dynamic environment. The main contribution of
this method is able to translate a group of users’ fuzzy requirements to services as well as model different levels of hardware
and software as services to meet the requirements. We also design a simulated environment that includes 8*8 LED matrix on
a circuit board that corresponds to an office with different appliances to demonstrate the dynamic service selection and binding.
The simulation is used to assess the computational efficiency of the fuzzy TOPSIS method and the effectiveness of the proposed

Confronted with decreasing margins and a rising customer demand for integrated solutions, manufacturing companies integrate
complementary services into their portfolio. Offering value bundles (consisting of services and physical goods) takes place
in integrated product–service systems, spanning the coordinated design and delivery of services and physical goods for customers.
Conceptual Modeling is an established approach to support and guide such efforts. Using a framework for the design and delivery
of value bundles as an analytical lens, this study evaluates the current support of reference models and modeling languages
for setting up conceptual models for an integrated design and delivery of value bundles. Consecutively, designing modeling
languages and reference models to fit the requirements of conceptual models in product–service systems are presented as upcoming
challenges in Service Research. To guide further research, first steps are proposed by exemplarily integrating reference models

The emergence of an open market for telecommunication services provides a wide range of opportunities for the provision of value-added services by providers other than public network operators. One service already available today is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that provides dispersed corporate sites with wide-area data communication capabilities using public network services. The introduction of Broadband ISDN allows for the provision of VPN services in a more integrated fashion. However, any effective VPN service must be able to deal with the technological and organizational heterogeneities that are present when providing a high level of service functionality over an arbitrary number of administrative and technological domains. This paper presents a management service for a VPN service that addresses some multi-domain and network heterogeneity issues. BitTorrent is one of the most popular Peer-to-Peer (P2P) applications for file sharing over the Internet. Video files take up a large proportion of space among the BitTorrent shared files. Recently, BitTorrent has attracted researchers’ interests, as an alternative method of providing video on demand (VoD) service. In this paper, we concentrate on enabling BitTorrent to support VoD service in existing swarms while maintaining the download efficiency of file-sharing users. We first examine the content properties of the BitTorrent system to explore the demands and challenges of VoD service in BitTorrent swarms. The efficiency of BitTorrent for various piece selection policies is then compared through measurement on PlanetLab. We also use an optimization mathematical model to analyze the hybrid BitTorrent system in which downloading peers and streaming peers coexist. Both measurement results and model analysis indicate the problem of system efficiency decline in the BitTorrent-based VoD systems, in comparison with the original BitTorrent file-sharing system. Our proposed approach, unlike existing strategies that are limited to changing the piece selection policy to allow BitTorrent to support streaming services, modifies both piece and peer selection policies to provide a “streaming while downloading” service in the BitTorrent system with downloading peers. For the peer selection policy, a CAP (Closest-Ahead Peers) method is applied to make better use of the peers’ upload bandwidths. For the piece selection policy, a sliding window-based hybrid method that combines the rarest-first policy with the sequential policy is proposed. To demonstrate the performance of our proposed approach, an evaluation is made using various metrics on PlanetLab. The results show that our proposed method has higher throughput and better streaming continuity than the sequential policy and BiToS. 相似文献

As an emerging IT-driven business paradigm, smart product-service system (Smart PSS), which offers not only the smart, connected product (SCP) but also its generated service as a solution bundle, has become a vital research topic. Many research efforts have been devoted to constructing the conceptual design framework by considering SCPs and services simultaneously. However, the following critical issues in Smart PSS conceptual design have not been well addressed: how to improve the solution of Smart PSS in the conceptual design stage to meet user emotional requirements. Aiming to fill the gap, this work proposes a conceptual design method for Smart PSS from the perspective of analyzing user-generated emotions/feelings. Specifically, the relevant traditional products are identified, and their public review data is used to analyze user emotions/feelings in user-product interaction. Interactive emotion board as a new design tool is presented to organize the user-generated emotions/feelings, associated design elements, and the potential design points of the initial solution. And the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is utilized to evaluate the improved solution. To ensure the efficiency of the analysis process, the self-organizing map (SOM) algorithm is utilized in the process of clustering product samples and Kansei words. A case study of smart electric bicycle service system (SEBSS) design is used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method. Despite strong interest in peer-to-peer (P2P) Video-on-Demand (VoD) services, existing studies mostly focus on peer-to-peer
or overlay protocol design based on simulations under various topological constraints. We believe experimental studies on
a real-life P2P VoD system will provide valuable information to ISPs, network administrators, and content owners. In this
paper we present a comprehensive analytical and experimental study on Joost, one of the first commercial P2P VoD systems used
for distributing various forms of video over the Internet. Our extensive experiments prove that Joost is a server-assisted
peer-to-peer VoD system. With several envisioned typical scenarios we have further investigated the peer management in terms
of time pattern, bandwidth consumption and locality considerations. Our major findings include: (1) the current Joost system
is capable of providing high-quality VoD service through the use of an overlay network deployed with a set of centralized
content servers; (2) inter-continental links are often used regardless of the number of local users, which may pose a high
burden on the network providers; (3) easily reachable, high-capacity nodes are selected as main relaying nodes, similar to
super nodes in Skype, to facilitate the traversal of symmetric NATs and firewalls. We also provide insights on the potential
ways to construct more efficient P2P VoD systems (e.g. considering topological locality-awareness, using adaptive/layered
