The combined-cycle gas and steam turbine power plant presents three main pieces of equipment: gas turbines, steam turbines and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). In case of HRSG failure the steam cycle is shut down, reducing the power plant output. Considering that the technology for design, construction and operation of high capacity HRSGs is quite recent its availability should be carefully evaluated in order to foresee the performance of the power plant.This study presents a method for reliability and availability evaluation of HRSGs installed in combined-cycle power plant. The method’s first step consists in the elaboration of the steam generator functional tree and development of failure mode and effects analysis. The next step involves a reliability and availability analysis based on the time to failure and time to repair data recorded during the steam generator operation. The third step, aiming at availability improvement, recommends the fault-tree analysis development to identify components the failure (or combination of failures) of which can cause the HRSG shutdown. Those components maintenance policy can be improved through the use of reliability centered maintenance (RCM) concepts. To convert the kinetic energy of marine current into electricity, the most sensible generator is a horizontal axis turbine. The know-how and the tools used for marine propulsion devices find a new range of applications in this field. An academic panel method code developed for the design of bare and ducted marine propellers was applied to design a marine current turbine. The turbine dimension and the tidal current velocity have been taken to fit the conditions in the Race of Alderney. The wing section theory and the optimum rotor theory based on the blade element momentum were used to obtain the design condition and a first geometry approaching the Betz limit for a bare rotor. The panel method was then used to verify the power coefficient obtained in the presence of the 3D effects and if the cavitation constraints are respected. In this paper, a working-process simulation model was established, and the characteristics regarding the diesel engine maximum output power were analyzed under different limiting parameters. The design margin of the marine diesel engine is obtained through numerical and experimental study. Then, the simulation model and single cylinder diesel engine test were used to investigate the theoretical determination method of limiting characteristic lines and design margin area. It can be found that using least-square method to fit the calculation results can achieve quantitative analysis of limiting characteristics, and then the design margin area can be confirmed. The analysis results show that the maximum output power of the diesel engine is limited by in-cylinder pressure, turbine speed and exhaust temperature. The limiting parameters of maximum output power are different at different speeds, and the trend with speed of maximum output power are also different under different limiting parameters. Furthermore, the analysis of the operating area shows that the margin of the marine diesel engine at rated speed is about 27%, and there is a large design margin when operating at high speed. 相似文献
