Michelle Addington questions the accepted Modernist conception of the interior as a hermetically sealed envelope. She highlights the vicissitudes in attitudes that have existed over time to interior and exterior conditions by flagging up the 19th-century pursuit of ventilation and the permeable outside wall, which was pursued in the quest for public sanitation and a misguided belief in the ‘toxic’ interior. New Media and the ‘Anchor Baby’ Boom

The term ‘anchor baby’ refers to children born in the U.S. to undocumented migrant parents who are thought to have been conceived in order to improve their parents' chances of attaining citizenship. Though the term is considered racist and dehumanizing by many, it has recently entered into common usage. This study investigates the process by which this has occurred. We test hypotheses derived from theories of mass and new media using multiple data sources and methods of analysis, and find that the main sources of the anchor baby boom are partisan news websites. The findings suggest that new media may be influencing mass media by creating unique and unprecedented opportunities for medium‐sized partisan news organizations.

着眼于0~3岁婴幼儿书籍设计的研究,提出了婴幼儿书籍设计的本质就是自觉合理地设计玩的信息,使得这些信息以便于接受的形式展示给婴幼儿。进而阐述了婴幼儿书籍必须遵循合理的开本、鲜艳的色彩、丰富的触觉这三大设计原则。提出设置交互式立体结构和多元化参与角色这2个设计策略,可以使婴幼儿在轻松愉悦的氛围内接受知识,在阅读中不断学习。

婴幼儿病号服在中国还处于一种萌芽、不完善的状态，一些医院还没有推广应用婴幼儿病号服。主要分析了影响婴幼儿病号服设计的心理、颜色、装饰、面料、款式和结构等因素，分析了婴幼儿病号服在制作时应注意的事项和标准。合理的婴幼儿病号服设计，有助于生病期间婴幼儿的治疗与康复。
