On the use of the ratio or the odds ratio of cure rates in therapeutic equivalence clinical trials with binary endpoints

Acutely ill patients who are immunocompromised but not neutropenic most commonly are: (1) diabetic; (2) on chronic high-dose steroid therapy; (3) have lupus; or (4) have impaired or absent splenic function. These patients often present in the CCU because of the severity of their infection. Differential diagnosis may be approached by first considering the patient's underlying disease, i.e., SLE. The next step in the diagnostic process is to appreciate the immune defect associated with these disorders. The nature of the immune defect determines which clinical pathogens are related to the immune defect. Pathogens are associated with a sterotyped pattern of organ involvement. The object of the diagnostic analysis is to determine the most likely organism affecting a particular organ system, given the defect in host defenses associated with the patient's underlying illness. In this way, a useful clinical diagnosis can be made rapidly, and appropriate clinical specimens obtained for diagnostic testing. Often empiric therapy must be started pending the results of diagnostic testing. In such situations, empiric therapy ordinarily is directed against the bacterial pathogens most likely to cause disease relevant to the patient's impaired defenses. Specific therapy for unusual or exotic pathogens should not be empiric and should be based on demonstration of a pathogenic role by the microorganism. In the case of miliary tuberculosis or invasive fungal disease, a case may be made for early empiric therapy to cover these organisms if there is sufficient clinical suspicion based on the presenting signs and symptoms as well as the pattern of organ involvement. As with all infections, but particularly in immunocompromised patients, the early initiation of appropriate antimicrobial therapy is essential and often life-saving.

ORGANIC PETROLOGY OF POTENTIAL SOURCE ROCKS IN THE TARIM BASIN, NW CHINA

Potential source rocks in the Tarim Basin (NW China) include Cambrian-Lower Ordovician lagoonal carbonates and mudstones; Middle-Upper Ordovician platform carbonates; Carboniferous-Permian shallow-marine carbonates and mudstones; and Triassic-Jurassic continental deposits including coals and lacustrine mudstones. Our petrological observations show that the organic components in Cambrian-Ordovician deposits are mainly alginites andamorphinites with minor vitrinite-like macerals, zooclasts and solid bitumen (Type I organic matter). The organic carbon content of these rocks is 0.1–2% TOC (averaging 0.9%TOC in deeper-water fades) and they are mature to overmature in terms of oil generation.
Organic macerals in Permian-Carboniferous source rocks are dominated by alginite with minor quantities of zooclasts andexinite derived from terrestrial higher plants (mainly Type II OM with minor Types I and III). TOC contents are 0.1–1%. These rocks are mature to highly-mature in terms of oil generation.
Macerals in Jurassic-Triassic source rocks are dominated by vitrinite and inertinite, with V+I > 50% and alginite + amorphinite < 40%; exinite averages 2–5%. This organic matter type is Type III, and the sediments are immature to just mature.
We have calculated the original organic matter richness of Ordovician deposits at selected locations. The original OM content appears to have been particularly high around Lunnan (in the North Tarim Uplift), in the Central Tarim Uplift and around Tadong (in the SE Uplift). These areas are therefore suggested to have particularly high exploration potential.

采用氧化铝模板法结合具有高真空背景的低压化学气相沉积技术制备出 Ge纳米线 .在氧化铝模板的背面喷金作为催化剂 ,合成了 Ge纳米线 .采用原子力显微镜、X射线衍射、透射电镜、能量散射谱等手段对 Ge纳米线进行了分析 .Ge纳米线的直径约为 30 nm,长度超过 6 0 0 nm.对 Ge纳米线的生长机理进行了探讨 .     

LRC-99催化剂的工业应用

论述了LRC-99催化剂在哈尔滨炼油厂RFCC上的工业应用情况。应用结果表明：该催化剂占系统藏量的75％左右，活性52时，轻烃收率可提高1．57％，焦炭产率下降0．77％，轻柴油提高4．9％，总液收提高1．02％，汽油辛烷值和柴油十六烷值变化不大，催化剂的稳定性和选择性良好。     

Differential space-time-frequency modulation over frequency-selective fading channels

We present a differential space-time-frequency (DSTF) modulation scheme for systems with two transmit antennas over frequency-selective fading channels. The proposed DSTF scheme employs a concatenation of a spectral encoder and a differential encoder/mapper, which are designed to yield the maximum spatio-spectral diversity and significant coding gain. To reduce the decoding complexity, the differential encoder is designed with a unitary structure that decouples the maximum likelihood (ML) detection in space and time; meanwhile, the spectral encoder utilizes a linear constellation decimation (LCD) coding scheme that encodes across a minimally required set of subchannels for full diversity and, hence, incurs the least decoding complexity among all full-diversity codes.     

The optical spectroscopic properties of rare earth-activated barium orthophosphate in VUV-Vis range

The optical properties of rare earth ions-activated barium orthophosphate phosphors, Ba₃(PO₄)₂:RE (RE=Ce³⁺, Sm³⁺, Eu³⁺, Eu²⁺, and Tb³⁺), were investigated in vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)-Vis range. A band-band transition of PO₄³⁻ in Ba₃(PO₄)₂ is observed in the region of 150-170 nm. The partial reduction of Eu³⁺ to Eu²⁺ was observed and confirmed by luminescent spectra under the VUV-UV excitation. It is proposed that the electronegative defects that formed by aliovalent substitution of Eu³⁺ on the Ba²⁺ site in the host are responsible for the reduction process.

A synchrotron radiation x-ray microdiffraction study on orientation relationships between a Cu6 Sn5 and Cu substrate in solder joints

The orientation distribution of Cu₆Sn₅ scallops and its relationship with the orientation of copper substrate was studied using synchrotron-radiation-based micro-x-ray diffraction. Laue spots were obtained both from the Cu₆Sn₅ and copper at the same time. From the Laue patterns, orientation distribution maps of the Cu₆Sn₅ and copper were obtained. The orientation of the Cu₆Sn₅ scallops had a strong dependence on that of copper. The [001] direction of Cu₆Sn₅ is always parallel to the [110] of copper, and either the (110) or the (010) plane of Cu₆Sn₅ is parallel to the (001) plane of copper. It was also found that the scallops of Cu₆Sn₅ gradually gain texture in the early stage of reflow, but lose the texture after a long reflow.
