The introduction of small quantities of lead into calcium hydroxyapatite catalysts produces marked increases in the selectivity to C2+ hydrocarbons, while the conversion of methane remains relatively constant. Small surface concentrations of lead are sufficient to achieve C2+ selectivities of 80 and 90%, with oxygen and nitrous oxide, respectively, in contrast with 18 and 46%, respectively, obtained in the absence of lead. Since surface concentration of lead species sufficient to stabilize pairs of methyl radicals in close proximity to each other would be expected to facilitate the formation of C2 hydrocarbons, an ensemble effect appears to be extant.  相似文献

Among optical isomers of 3,7-dimethylpentadecan-2-ol (diprionol) acetate or propionate tested as synthetic attractants, the 2S, 3S, and 7S isomers were most effective in attracting the males ofNeodiprion sertifer in the field. The 2S, 3S, and 7R isomers showed weak activity, but the other optical isomers were not attractive. Capillary GC analysis showed that the natural pheromone from body extracts of females was identical with the synthetic acetate of diprionol in its GC behavior. However, the natural pheromone was about 100-fold stronger than the most purified synthetic acetate of 2S,3S,7S-diprionol in the field. As a result of various isomer combination studies, it was found that the acetate of 2S,3R,7R-diprionol, when added to 2S,3S,7S-diprionol preparation at a low concentration, increased the catch by the latter. It was therefore concluded that the above combination of the optical isomers could account for the major sex attractancy in this species.  相似文献

Deformation of poly(vinyl alcohol)–poly(sodium acrylate) composite hydrogel (PVA–PAA gel) under sinusoidally varying electric fields was studied in electrolyte solutions. The PVA–PAA gel was prepared by repeatedly freezing and thawing a mixed solution of PVA and polyacrylic acid. A cyclic bending–straightening motion of the PVA–PAA gel rods of about 1 mm in diameter have been observed in Na2CO3 aqueous solutions under the fields. The PVA–PAA gel had a response time of less than several hundreds milliseconds. The bending has also been observed in organic solvents containing an electrolyte when the organic solvent is electrolyzed. It was found that the motion of the gel under electric fields of less than 1 Hz occurred mainly through swelling due to the change of the osmotic pressure based upon the difference of the ion concentration. However, it has not been determined whether the motion at higher frequencies is caused by the osmotic effect. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In this study, white organic electroluminescent devices with microcavity structures were developed. A flexible high‐resolution active‐matrix organic light‐emitting diode display with low power consumption using red, green, blue, and white sub‐pixels formed by a color‐filter method was fabricated. Equimolar blend of poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA) and poly(d-lactic acid) (PDLA) was melt spun into fibers and the relations among the processing conditions, crystalline structures, thermal properties, and mechanical properties were investigated. Drawing and annealing were performed in order to obtain fiber mainly consisting of the stereocomplex crystal phase. Fibers drawn at various temperatures exhibited either amorphous, highly oriented homo crystal, or the mixture of homo and stereocomplex with a fairly low orientation depending on the drawing temperature. Annealing of the drawn fibers at an elevated temperature higher than the melting temperature of homo crystal increased the stereocomplex content significantly. The fractions of the homo and the stereocomplex crystals strongly depended on the higher-order structure of the drawn fibers and the annealing temperature.  相似文献

A new emulsion-type paint was prepared by utilizing a nano-composite emulsion (NCE), which contained nano-size particles (ca. 60 nm in diameter) consisting of silica (inorganic core, ca. 30 nm in diameter) and polyacrylate (organic shell), and evaluated as wall paint. By applying NCE for the wall paint, about 35 wt.% of the organic content in the paint could be reduced in comparison with the commodity emulsion-type paint, which is highly effective to save the petroleum resources. The basic properties of the white NCE paint film on gloss, surface hardness, adhesion, and solvent resistance were evaluated and compared with those of acrylic emulsion-type paints as well as those of silica-containing paints which were prepared simply by blending the acrylic emulsion with silica sol. The NCE paint was especially excellent in solvent resistance. Then the practical tests were performed to evaluate its appropriateness as wall paint, which clarified the excellent antipollution property and the high flame resistance of the NCE paint.  相似文献

The phase behaviors for the blends of poly(3‐hydroxypropionate) (PHP), poly(L ‐lactide) (PLLA), poly(D ‐lactide) (PDLA), and poly(D,L ‐lactide) (PDLLA) with catechin were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. In PLLA/catechin, PDLA/catechin, and PDLLA/catechin blends, two glass transitions were detected when the catechin content was ≥40 wt %, whereas in PHP/catechin blends only one glass transition was observed over the whole range of blend compositions. The former and the latter results should reflect the inhomogeneous and the homogeneous nature of the blends, respectively, in the amorphous phase. These different phase behaviors should arise from the differences in the chemical structures between PHP and PLLA/PDLA/PDLLA, which dominates the strength and the number of intermolecular hydrogen‐bonding interactions between the ester carbonyl groups of polyesters and the phenol groups of catechin. As detected by FTIR spectroscopy, in comparison with PHP, the steric hindrance of side‐chain methyl groups of PLLA, PDLA, and PDLLA might restrain the formation of hydrogen bonds between their ester carbonyl groups and the phenol hydroxyl groups of catechin, even weakening the strength of such hydrogen bonds. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new technique for imparting antistatic properties to poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fiber has been developed. In this technique, blend polyester fibers containing poly(ethylene terephthalate/5-sulfoisophthalate) (SIP-PET) were prepared by blend spinning and then treated with various cationic surfactants in the process of dyeing. The surfactants could effectively be immobilized on the fiber as the counter cations of the sulfonate groups of the 5-sulfoisophthalate (SIP) units and aid the release of static electrons formed in the fiber. Thus, the half-life time (t1/2) of leakage of static charge and the surface resistivity (Rs) of the blend PET fibers became much lower after treating. The best result was obtained with a methylated quaternary ammonium salt of a stearylamine-ethylene oxide (EO) adduct or hydrochloride of a laurylamine-EO adduct as the surfactant of which the number of EO units was around ten. Even after five washing cycles the t1/2 value of the fibers treated with these surfactants was kept lower than 30 s with the Rs value maintained in the order of 1013 Ω cm-2. Therefore, the present technique could be useful for practical production of polyester fibers with “semi-permanent” antistatic properties which can be recovered by re-treatment even if they were lost.  相似文献

This study addresses a floor identification method for small humanoid robots that work in such daily environments as homes. The fundamental difficulty lays in a method to understand the physical properties of floors. To achieve floor identification with small humanoid robots, we used inertial sensors that can be easily installed on such robots, and dynamically selected a full-body motion that physically senses floors to achieve accurate floor identification. We collected a training data-set over 10 different kinds of common floors in home environments. We achieved 85.7% precision with our proposed method. We also demonstrate that our robot could appropriately change its locomotion behaviours depending on the floor identification results.  相似文献

In this study, a 5.9‐inch foldable active‐matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display was developed. A folding test was performed repeatedly. The display survived the folding test (100,000 folds) with a curvature radius of 2 mm. To protect an organic light emitting diode (OLED) against moisture, inorganic passivation layers are provided on the upper and lower sides of the flexible display. Using our transfer technology, high density passivation layers can be obtained. The measured water vapor transmission rate of the layer is 7 × 10?6 g/m2?day or less, which improves OLED reliability. With these techniques, we have developed a book‐type display, which is repeatedly foldable like a book, and a tri‐fold display including a display area, which is foldable in three.  相似文献
