In China, Camellia oleifera oil (COO) is not only a common edible oil but also a traditional remedy widely applied to ameliorate a variety of illnesses associated with inflammation, such as mouth ulcers, thrush, eczema, etc. However, there has been a lack of relevant biological research on the anti-inflammatory capacity of COO, and the specific bioactive lipid phytochemicals contributing to the anti-inflammatory effect need further research. In this study, the RAW 264.7 macrophages model was used to investigate the anti-inflammatory capacity of COO. Our data showed that 33–200 μg/mL COO markedly inhibited the lipopolysaccharide lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated nitric oxide (NO.) secretion via the suppression of Nos2 and Cox-2 expression. The enzyme immunoassay confirmed that COO also exhibited a strong suppressive effect on the expression of proinflammatory cytokines such as Tnf-α and Il-6. To further explore the correlation between the anti-inflammatory effects and the lipid phytochemicals in COO, 10 samples were collected and screened for their chemical compositions. It was interestingly demonstrated that the polyphenol extracts of COO play a vital role in its anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion-based system was also developed to deliver the liposoluble COO into the cells, and the feasibility of this system was confirmed. Our research confirms the anti-inflammatory potential of COO and highlights that the main functional ingredient is polyphenol extracts. This may provide a scientific basis for the comprehensive utilization and development of COO and related functional foods.  相似文献

We found for the first time that (1 − x) Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3-xBiZn0.5Ti0.5O3 (NBT–BZT) composite ceramics showed negative temperature coefficient (NTC) at a high temperature. The NBT–BZT nanopowders were successfully prepared by Pechini method. Their ceramics were sintered at 1100°C. The NBT–BZT ceramic exhibited a good linear relationship between logarithm of electrical resistivity (Inρ) and reciprocal of absolute temperature (1000/T) at 250°C–1050°C. The obtained ρ600, ρ900, and B600/900 constants of the NBT–ZBT NTC thermistors are approximately 5.92 × 106 to 3.01 × 104 Ω cm, 7.03 × 103 to 7.60 × 102 Ω cm and 2.3 × 104-1.3 × 104 K, respectively. The electrical characteristics can be tuned to the desired value by changing the Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 content in the compound. The electrical conductivity in these compounds is due to the electron jumps between Ti3+ and Ti4+ and oxygen-ion conductivity. Results demonstrate a tremendous potential of the studied system for perovskite materials with NTC performance.  相似文献

(1) Background: Our aim is to reveal the influence of the geometry designs on biophysical stimuli and healing patterns. The design guidelines for dental implants can then be provided. (2) Methods: A two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element model was developed based on mechano-regulatory algorithm. The history of tissue differentiation around eight selected implants can be predicted. The performance of the implants was evaluated by bone area (BA), bone-implant contact (BIC); (3) Results: The predicted healing patterns have very good agreement with the experimental observation. Many features observed in literature, such as soft tissues covering on the bone-implant interface; crestal bone loss; the location of bone resorption bumps, were reproduced by the model and explained by analyzing the solid and fluid biophysical stimuli and (4) Conclusions: The results suggested the suitable depth, the steeper slope of the upper flanks, and flat roots of healing chambers can improve the bone ingrowth and osseointegration. The mechanism related to solid and fluid biophysical stimuli were revealed. In addition, the model developed here is efficient, accurate and ready to extend to any geometry of dental implants. It has potential to be used as a clinical application for instant prediction/evaluation of the performance of dental implants.  相似文献

This study assessed the collection efficiency (CE) of two popularly used sampling devices (BioSampler and Coriolis sampler) for fungal aerosols. Phosphate‐buffered saline (PBS) supplemented with or without surfactant (Tween‐20, Tween‐80, or Triton X‐100) and antifoam agent was prepared and used as collection liquids. The agar impactor (BioStage) was simultaneously operated with liquid‐based samplers to collect fungi from seven sites located at a university building, public library, and animal farming. Fungal concentrations determined by liquid samplers were divided by those by BioStage, and the ratio values represented CE. Results indicate that the CE of BioSampler was superior to that of Coriolis (P = 0.0001) and the PBS containing surfactant collected fungi better than that without surfactant (P < 0.0001), whereas antifoam agent showed no influence (P = 0.8). Moreover, fungal concentrations determined by BioSampler with surfactant‐added PBS were statistically indifferent from those by BioStage (P > 0.05) with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.81‐0.83 (P < 0.01). In addition to sampler and collection liquid, sampling location was also identified as a significant CE factor (P = 0.006), implying potential influences by fungal genera in the studied fields. Overall, BioSampler with surfactant‐supplemented PBS (eg, Triton X‐100) is recommended considering the great CE and compatibility with a variety of analytical assays.  相似文献

Sustainable biocomposites have gained considerable interest as an alternative to conventional composites in recent years due to their cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness. The aim of this study was to investigate the performance and durability behavior of biocomposites from sustainable biocarbon (BC) as compared to conventional established fillers. The poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) and its composites reinforced with BC, talc, and glass fiber (GF) were prepared and the durability performances was investigated. The study showed that BC/PBT biocomposites provided a lighter weight alternative to traditionally used fillers. After undergoes thermo-oxidative aging, the mechanical properties of BC/PBT biocomposite were deteriorated. The GF/PBT showed the most stable in retaining its mechanical properties in comparison to the talc/PBT and BC/PBT. The aging behavior and mechanism of the PBT composites were discussed. This study provides further insight on the durability-related properties progression of biocomposites as compared to traditional used fillers. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
