Temperature dependent analysis to achieve better performance by reducing threshold current requirements and field intensity has been carried out for GaN/AlGaN heterostructure lasers. The mirror loss in the GaN cavity has been obtained as a function of temperature and cavity length. The quantum efficiency has been deduced for different values of cavity length. Dependence of recombination rate on band gap and temperature has been investigated. Threshold current density has been deduced for GaN lasers and effect of temperature on it has been investigated. The near field intensity analysis has been carried out at different temperatures for 10% aluminum mole fraction in GaN/AlGaN heterostructure lasers. Furthermore, the effective index and FWHM of near field has been investigated as a function of temperature. It has been deduced from our analysis that temperature has a dominant effect on the threshold conditions and near field intensity in the wide band gap GaN based lasers.  相似文献

The present study highlights application of Taguchi’s robust design coupled with fuzzy based desirability function approach for optimizing multiple bead geometry parameters of submerged arc weldment. Fuzzy inference system has been adapted to avoid uncertainly, imprecision and vagueness in experimentation as well as in data analysis by traditional Taguchi based optimization approach. Detailed methodology and unique features of the proposed method has been highlighted through a case study. India needs large dams for water storage, hydropower and flood control. It also needs long-distance inter-basin water transfers. However, India has a complex and strict environmental regulatory system which ignores a developing economy's needs and peoples' aspirations and is often impractical. This is used by activists to thwart infrastructure building, and, when faced with development slowdown, the government tries to thwart the laws they themselves have made. India's food, water and energy security, economic, and poverty-alleviation plans are in jeopardy unless environmental regulators realize that the regulations are being misused and that environmental over-enthusiasm is benefiting neither development nor the environment.  相似文献

Optimal regulation of stochastically behaving agents is essential to achieve a robust aggregate behavior in a swarm of agents. How optimally these behaviors are controlled leads to the problem of designing optimal control architectures. In this paper, we propose a novel broadcast stochastic receding horizon control architecture as an optimal strategy for stabilizing a swarm of stochastically behaving agents. The goal is to design, at each time step, an optimal control law in the receding horizon control framework using collective system behavior as the only available feedback information and broadcast it to all agents to achieve the desired system behavior. Using probabilistic tools, a conditional expectation based predictive model is derived to represent the ensemble behavior of a swarm of independently behaving agents with multi-state transitions. A stochastic finite receding horizon control problem is formulated to stabilize the aggregate behavior of agents. Analytical and simulation results are presented for a two-state multi-agent system. Stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed using the supermartingale theory. Almost sure (with probability 1) convergence of the closed-loop system to the desired target is ensured. Finally, conclusions are presented.  相似文献

In this paper a discrete-time iterative learning controller for single input single output systems is presented. The iterative learning controller works with a reduced sampling rate that ensures the reduction of an appropriate norm of the error trajectory from cycle to cycle and can cope with initial state error. Initial state error occurs when the initial state of the system is different from the initial state that is implicitly given by the reference trajectory. If the initial state changes for every learning iteration, then the controller cannot achieve ideal tracking but the error trajectory is bounded. Using two different sample times together with a potentially time variant learning gain improves the controller performance for dealing with initial state error. Simulation examples are presented to show the results of the proposed iterative learning controller with reduced sampling rate.  相似文献

Wildfire burnt forest biomass can be salvaged as feedstock for bioenergy power generating stations. Despite availability of such forest biomass in northwestern Ontario, its procurement has generally been considered uneconomic and no studies have looked into the cost of harvesting, processing, and transporting the burnt material for bioenergy production. In order to meet the demand of biomass for proposed and existing power generating stations using renewable fuels, a standard costing model is used to determine the feasibility of procuring biomass from burnt areas using a full-tree to roadside, roadside grinder to mill system. The case-study was conducted at the Hogarth Plantations near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The total cost incurred for processing and delivery of biomass from wildfire burnt area with a hauling distance of 7 km and total trip cycle time of 2.55 h was found to be $29.65 gt?1, with net energy content of 11.4 GJ gt?1. The total procurement cost depends on the hauling distance and a linear relationship between the two was established. The energy analysis found a net energy output to input ratio of 35:1 for the operation.  相似文献

The photocatalytic degradation (PCD) of 4-nitroaniline was studied in the presence of TiO2 suspensions in a batch and continuous annular reactor. Artificial and solar radiation was employed as sources of UV radiation. The effect of catalyst loading, pH, presence of anions and initial concentration on the rate of photocatalytic degradation was investigated. p-Aminophenol, p-benzoquinone and hydroquinone were identified as the intermediates during the degradation process. A kinetic expression for PCD of 4-NA is provided.  相似文献
