A novel multi‐component system containing poly(vinyl alcohol), lithium bromide, sulfuric acid, ethylene carbonate and hydroquinone was prepared using a solution‐casting technique. The presence of hydroquinone as a reducing agent in the inorganic–organic membrane structure thus produced was thought to lead to enhanced thermal stability of the membrane. The activation energy for the thermal decomposition of the product samples increased with increasing hydroquinone doping. The ionic conductivities of the films were determined from AC impedance measurements in the temperature range 300–373 K. The maximum conductivity was found to be 1.75 × 10?3 S cm?1 for a film doped with 4 wt% hydroquinone. The results give some insight into the potential utility of the membrane as a proton‐conducting solid polymer electrolyte. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

A new system is proposed for tracking sensitive areas in the retina for computer-assisted laser treatment of choroidal neovascularization (CNV). The system consists of a fundus camera using red-free illumination mode interfaced to a computer that allows real-time capturing of video input. The first image acquired is used as the reference image and utilized by the treatment physician for treatment planning. A grid of seed contours over the whole image is initiated and allowed to deform by splitting and/or merging according to preset criteria until the whole vessel tree is demarcated. Then, the image is filtered using a one-dimensional Gaussian filter in two perpendicular directions to extract the core areas of such vessels. Faster segmentation can be obtained for subsequent images by automatic registration to compensate for eye movement and saccades. An efficient registration technique is developed whereby some landmarks are detected in the reference frame then tracked in the subsequent frames. Using the relation between these two sets of corresponding points, an optimal transformation can be obtained. The implementation details of proposed strategy are presented and the obtained results indicate that it is suitable for real-time location determination and tracking of treatment positions. 相似文献

Recently, digital watermarking emerged as a candidate solution for copyright protection of IP blocks. In this paper, we survey and classify different techniques used for watermarking IP designs. To this end, we defined several evaluation criteria, which can also be used as a benchmark for new IP watermarking developments. The isomerisation of different alkyl naphthalenes under the influence of anhydrous sulphonic acids, other Friedel-Crafts and Lewis acid catalysts has been studied, where the alkyl groups undergo rearrangement during the isomerisation process. Disposition of the flavonoid quercetin in rats after single intravenous and oral doses 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The pharmacokinetic and mean time tissue distribution parameters, after a single 50-mg/kg dose of quercetin administered as intravenous bolus, oral solution, and oral suspension, were determined using rat as an animal model. Following intravenous administration, the elimination rate constant and the elimination half-life were found to be 0.0062 min-1 and 111 min, respectively. Examining the mean time tissue distribution parameters reflected a strong binding affinity of the drug molecules to both plasma and tissue proteins. In addition, the low permeability rate of drug molecules in the peripheral system was demonstrated. Following the oral administration of the drug, the extent of absorption was greater from solution than from suspension. Moreover, the solution showed a shorter Tmax and a higher Cmax than suspension. The absolute bioavailability for the solution was 0.275 and that for suspension was 0.162. The mean residence time (MRT) and the mean absorption time (MAT) were higher for suspension, reflecting the need for dissolving the drug in order to be absorbed. The mean (in-vivo) dissolution time (MDTin-vivo) was 34.5 min. Thus, an oral quercetin formulation that can readily form a drug solution in the gastrointestinal tract may enhance the absorption of the drug. 相似文献

Spatial database operations are typically performed in two steps. In the filtering step, indexes and the minimum bounding rectangles (MBRs) of the objects are used to quickly determine a set of candidate objects. In the refinement step, the actual geometries of the objects are retrieved and compared to the query geometry or each other. Because of the complexity of the computational geometry algorithms involved, the CPU cost of the refinement step is usually the dominant cost of the operation for complex geometries such as polygons. Although many run-time and pre-processing-based heuristics have been proposed to alleviate this problem, the CPU cost still remains the bottleneck. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to address this problem using the efficient rendering and searching capabilities of modern graphics hardware. This approach does not require expensive pre-processing of the data or changes to existing storage and index structures, and is applicable to both intersection and distance predicates. We evaluate this approach by comparing the performance with leading software solutions. The results show that by combining hardware and software methods, the overall computational cost can be reduced substantially for both spatial selections and joins. We integrated this hardware/software co-processing technique into a popular database to evaluate its performance in the presence of indexes, pre-processing and other proprietary optimizations. Extensive experimentation with real-world data sets show that the hardware-accelerated technique not only outperforms the run-time software solutions but also performs as well if not better than pre-processing-assisted techniques. 相似文献

Since bridge deck slabs directly sustain repeated moving wheel loads, they are one of the most bridge elements susceptible to fatigue failure. Recently, glass fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites have been widely used as internal reinforcement for concrete bridge deck slabs as they are less expensive compared to the other kinds of FRPs (carbon and aramid). However, there is still a lack of information on the performance of FRP–reinforced concrete elements subjected to cyclic fatigue loading. This research is designed to investigate the fatigue behavior and fatigue life of concrete bridge deck slabs reinforced with glass FRP bars. A total of five full-scale deck slabs were constructed and tested under concentrated cyclic loading until failure. Different reinforcement types (steel and glass FRP), ratios, and configurations were used. Different schemes of cyclic loading (accelerated variable amplitude fatigue loading) were applied. Results are presented in terms of deflections, strains in concrete and FRP bars, and crack widths at different levels of cyclic loading. The results showed the superior fatigue performance and longer fatigue life of concrete bridge deck slabs reinforced with glass FRP composite bars. 相似文献

This paper presents the development of a nonlinear quadrotor simulation framework together with a nonlinear controller. The quadrotor stabilization and navigation problems are tackled using a nested loops control architecture. A nonlinear Backstepping controller is implemented for the inner stabilization loop. It asymptotically tracks reference attitude, altitude and heading trajectories. The outer loop controller generates the reference trajectories for the inner loop controller to reach the desired waypoint. To ensure boundedness of the reference trajectories, a PD controller with a saturation function is used for the outer loop. Due to the complexity involved in controller development and testing, a simulation framework has been developed. It is based on the Gazebo 3D robotics simulator and the Open Dynamics Engine (ODE) library. The framework can effectively facilitate the development and validation of controllers. In this paper, a rigorous mathematical model describing the transient behavior of three-phase reluctance motors under the effect of torsional dynamics is developed. Provisions are made to allow the analysis of both the three-phase balanced mode of operation and the single-phase mode of operation of such motors. The resulting state-space equations are then solved numerically in order to yield the required transient response curves. An improved Tungsten light source system for photovoltaic cell testing made from low-cost, commercially available materials is presented as an alternative to standard expensive testing equipment. In this work, spectral correction of the Tungsten light source is achieved by increasing the color temperature to ??5200 K using inexpensive commercially available filters. Spectral measurements of the enhanced light source reveal that a better spectrum match towards the solar spectrum is achieved than what has been previously demonstrated. Specifically, the improved solar spectrum match is achieved by substantial filtering of the infrared range. The proposed setup is used to evaluate the performance of both silicon and organic based photovoltaic cells. 相似文献
