This paper proposes a model of the mechanical behaviour of corroded reinforced concrete members subjected to bending under service load. The model is based on the formulation of a macro-element to be used in FEM analysis, having a length equal to the distance between two consecutive flexural cracks and a cross-section equal to the member cross-section. The mechanical formulation is directly written in generalized variables (bending moment and curvature) and is based on the concept of the transfer length necessary for the transmission of tensile load from re-bar to tensile concrete thanks to the bond. It is thus possible to take into account the effect of reinforcement corrosion on the bond between re-bar and concrete, by increasing the transfer length versus intensity of corrosion. The variation of the transfer length versus corrosion is expressed using a scalar damage parameter. A first experimental validation is performed on a 17-year-old beam kept in a chloride environment under its service load.  相似文献

Contextual information, such as color and spatial location, has been found to be better remembered for emotional than for neutral items. The current study examined whether the influence of emotion extends to memory for another fundamental feature of episodic memory: temporal information. Results from a list-discrimination paradigm showed that (a) item memory was enhanced for both negative and positive pictures compared with neutral ones and was better for negative than for positive pictures and (b) temporal information was better remembered for negative than for positive and neutral pictures, whereas positive and neutral pictures did not differ from each other. Grid applications call for high performance networking support. One attractive solution is to deploy Grids over optical networks. However, resource management in optical domains is traditionally very rigid and cannot successfully meet the requirements of Grid applications, such as flexible provisioning and configuration. In this paper, we present a customizable resource management solution for optical networks where users can create lightpaths on demand and manage their own network resources. Thanks to a Grid-centric system architecture, lightpath resources can be shared among users and easily integrated with data and computation Grids.  相似文献

 A new laser microstereophotolithography process has been developed in our laboratory to manufacture three-dimensional parts with a high accuracy. As usual in laser stereophotolithography or laser microstereophotolithography, the part is manufactured layer by layer by a light-induced space-resolved polymerization. Until now, in all the already existing microstereophotolithography devices a layer is manufactured vector by vector, by moving the part beneath the initiating light source which remains motionless. We developed a simpler and easier process, in which we can manufacture an entire layer by irradiating its whole surface only once: we used a liquid crystal display as a dynamic generator of masks. In the device we set up, we need only one mobile element, the z translator, all the others are fixed. We manufactured several different 3D microparts, in particular a piece of bevel microgearing with helicoidal cogs, the volume of which is less than half a cubic millimetre. This paper propose recirculating fluidized bed (RCFB) reactor for chemical‐looping combustion (CLC) to overcome some of the issues associated with the existing interconnected reactors arrangements like low residence time of bed material in the air reactor, high attrition of bed material in the cyclone separator, cluster formation in the air reactor, complex operation involving loop seals and high heat losses. RCFB has high solid circulation rate, long residence time, efficient fuel–oxygen carrier contact, low heat losses and low gas leak in between the reactors, as compared to the existing reactor configurations. A cold model study was performed on a Perspex made, semicircular, transparent RCFB reactor. A single RCFB reactor was operated in the alternate oxidation and fuel burning cycles to simulate the interconnected reactors arrangement for CLC. The generated experimental data has been used to predict the optimal RCFB reactor configuration for a RCFB‐based CLC power plant. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This research verified the ability of Lactobacillus rhamnosus encapsulated with inulin to tolerate the simulated digestive system and their viability in a soy blend. Probiotic encapsulated in alginate-chitosan matrix without inulin presented a better encapsulation efficiency (80.92%) than encapsulation with inulin (57.39%). On the 28th day, the count of probiotics decreased by 3.42 and 1.99 logarithmic cycles of free and encapsulated cells without inulin, respectively. In contrast, the microorganisms encapsulated with inulin showed an increase of 1.26 logs CFU g−1. During gastrointestinal simulation, cell counts decreased by 0.78, 1.55 and 1.95 CFU g−1 logs for encapsulated cells without inulin, free and encapsulated with inulin, respectively. Sensory panellists liked the fermented soy blend with encapsulated lactobacilli, and this result shows the possibility to create new probiotic foods of plant origin. Therefore, the alginate/chitosan matrix can be considered adequate for the encapsulation of L. rhamnosus. The inulin reduces the encapsulation efficiency and increases the cell loss in gastrointestinal simulation. Considering cellular losses, the best option for preparing a fermented soy blend is to use L. rhamnosus encapsulated without inulin.  相似文献

Cold sintering process (CSP) offers a promising strategy for the fabrication of innovative and advanced high permittivity dielectric nanocomposite materials. Here, we introduce Ba(OH)2?8H2O hydrated flux as a new transient chemistry that enables the densification of BaTiO3 in a single step at a temperature as low as 150 °C. This remarkably low temperature is near its Curie transition of 125 °C, associated with a displacive phase transition. The cold sintered BaTiO3 shows a relative density of 95 % and a room temperature relative permittivity over 1000. This new hydrated flux permits the fabrication of a unique dense BaTiO3-polymer nanocomposite with a high volume fraction of ceramics ((1-x) BaTiO3x PTFE, with x = 0.05). The composite exhibits a relative permittivity of approximately 800, at least an order of magnitude higher than previous reports on polymer composites with BaTiO3 nanoparticle fillers that are typically well below 100. Unique high permittivity dielectric nanocomposites with enhanced resistivities can now be designed using polymers to engineer grain boundaries and CSP as a processing method opening up new possibilities in dielectric materials design.  相似文献

The present study is focused on the analysis of non-premixed combustion in high-velocity (supersonic) flows. The computations make use of a large eddy simulation (LES) model, which has been recently introduced to address combustion in high Reynolds number turbulent flows featuring moderate Damköhler values. We expect that the corresponding closure is able to account for the specificities encountered in high Mach number turbulent reactive flows featuring chemical reaction time scales with the same order of magnitude as flow time scales. The model takes finite-rate chemistry and micro-mixing effects into account within the framework of the partially stirred reactor (PaSR) concept, it is hereafter denoted by U-PaSR (unsteady partially stirred reactor). (i) In a first step of the present investigation, the capabilities of the U-PaSR closure hence proposed are evaluated through a detailed comparison performed between numerical results and the data obtained from an experimental study devoted to non-premixed combustion in supersonic co-flowing jets of hydrogen and vitiated air. The simulated test case corresponds to a well-documented experimental database that includes Raman scattering and laser-induced pre-dissociative fluorescence measurements. The comparisons performed between computational results and experimental data establish that the physical processes are well-described by the performed simulation. (ii) In a second step of this study, the flame structure and associated stabilization zone are analysed in the light of numerical simulation results. The post-processing to the computational results indeed confirms the importance of self-ignition processes, as well as the relevance of diagnostic tools recently introduced by Boivin et al. [1,2]. Considering the stabilization zone, it also emphasizes the essential importance of the pressure dynamics associated with the discharge of compressible coflowing jets into the atmosphere – an importance that was not so clearly evidenced from previous numerical simulations conducted on the same experimental benchmark.  相似文献

Structural bonding is nowadays widespread in the industry. However, characterisation methods and 3D modelling of the adhesives need to be improved. The characterisation requires an experimental procedure to obtain a large experimental database under various loading cases, which represents a significant amount of data. The 3D modelling requires advanced models with several parameters to identify and generally uses inverse identification procedures, which can be time expensive. For a good accuracy, the constitutive models need to take into account the dependency on the hydrostatic stress and be written under the non-associated formalism. In this study, the experimental database is obtained via a modified Arcan test that can cover a wide range of loadings between tension, shear, mixed tension–shear, and mixed compression–shear. A second experimental campaign is realized with a tension/compression–torsion (TCT) test that can cover a greater range of loadings: from tension to compression and mixed tension/compression–shear, with an infinite possibility of mixed loadings. The modified Arcan database is used to identify a 3D elastic–plastic Mahnken–Schlimmer type model, according to an inverse identification procedure developed in a previous study. This model identification is validated on the experimental database coming from the TCT test: a numerical/experimental comparison is realized. This allows the validation of the model and emphasizes the benefits of the TCT test. Indeed, it proves that this test is well suited to characterize adhesive joints and presents several capacities that will be really useful for further studies, like an infinite range of non-proportional loadings available.  相似文献
