The mixing cycle‐dependent degree of dispersion and degree of mixing of a calcite (calcium carbonate) agglomerate in high‐density polyethylene (HDPE), low‐density polyethylene (LDPE), and linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE) matrices upon stretching was investigated using three different techniques: mechanical property, morphological behavior, and image analyzer analyses. The mechanical properties analyzed in terms of the tensile strength and maximum elongation resulted in that the second mixing was the best for giving a better property for all systems except the LDPE system, which exhibited no significant difference between the second and third mixings. The morphological behavior of the three compounds were different, but no distinctive difference was observed to differentiate the degree of mixing from system to system. The number‐, weight‐, and z + 1‐average diameters of the air hole and the aspect ratio upon the stretching and mixing cycle were calculated to analyze the degree of mixing of the calcite‐filled composites. As a consequence, no difference in the average diameter of the air hole was obtained among the three systems, but the aspect ratios of the air hole varied significantly. Thus, the degree of dispersion and the degree of mixing may be influenced by the average calcite agglomerate size, the average diameter of the air hole, and the aspect ratio upon stretching and mixing cycles. Those factors would be formed by the difference in chemical characteristics upon various microstructures of polyethylene and its molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. CNT paste consists of organic solution, inorganic binder and filler. Organic solution contains organic resins and solvent including surfactants which finely disperse CNTs. Filler affects surface morphology, electron emission property, viscosity, and rheological characteristics of CNT paste. We used different fillers such as silver and alumina in CNT paste for special function. The emission properties of CNT paste with silver are similar to those of CNT paste with alumina if filler portion is the same. From the scanning electron microscope (SEM) different morphologies of CNTs was observed depending on the type of filler. CNT paste which showed good emission property had vertically well-aligned CNTs on the surface after surface treatment using adhesive tape. We measured viscosity and rheological properties with rheometer RS600 from HAAKE. Emission property of CNT paste was evaluated in vacuum chamber of 10− 6 Torr with pulse generator and duty was 1/500.  相似文献

In a previous study, CETP inhibitory peptide (3 kDa) was isolated from hog plasma. The peptide, synthesized chemically according to the amino acid sequence of the 3-kDa peptide (designated P28), showed CETP inhibitory activity both in vitro and in vivo [Cho et al. (1998) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 1391, 133–144]. We report herein further unique features of P28 when it was associated with the cholesteryl ester (CE)-donor and-acceptor lipoproteins. Lipoprotein substrates with P28 present in both HDL (as a CE-donor) and LDL (as a CE-acceptor) served as poor substrates, with CE-transfer activity decreased up to 60% compared to normal substrates without P28. P28 was found to be located in HDL fractions of hog plasma and showed the same electromobility as that visualized by PAGE on 7% polyacrylamide gel under nondenaturing conditions. Addition of apolipoprotein A-1 (apoA-1) or apoB antibody to a normal CE-transfer mixture did not alter CE-transfer activity. However, addition of apoA-1 or −B antibody to a CETP-inhibition mixture decreased the inhibitory activity of P28 by ca. 20%. Western blot analysis revealed that P28 was associated only with human and hog HDL among several lipoproteins purified from human, hog, and rabbit. CFTP-inhibition assays with various lipoprotein substrates revealed that P28 exhibited substrate-specific inhibitory activity. The inhibitory activity of P28 was highly dependent on the type of lipoprotein substrate (whether CE-donor or-acceptor); P28 inhibited CE transfer from HDL to LDL, but it did not inhibit CE transfer from HDL to HDL.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the visual fatigue of integral imaging three‐dimensional (3D) display by studying the accommodation and convergence when viewing the integral imaging 3D images. The theoretical analyses show that there is no inconsistency between the accommodation and convergence distances, which means that the integral imaging 3D display has no visual fatigue. Experiments are implemented, and the results finally demonstrate the rationality of the theoretical analyses. These analyses can be quite beneficial for researchers to better understand the performances and promote the practical applications of the integral imaging 3D display.  相似文献

Stereoscopic displays are becoming popular in entertainment and industrial applications. We characterize the spatial resolution and noise properties of a stereoscopic display with a half‐mirror and passive polarizing glasses. The upper display images reflected off the mirror have slightly degraded sharpness and reduced high spatial‐frequency noise resulting in modulation transfer functions (MTFs) of 0.59 and 0.50 at the Nyquist frequency with corresponding noise power spectra (NPS) values of 4.79 × 10?6 and 5.17 × 10?6 mm2 at 10 mm?1 in the horizontal and vertical directions. These results are compared to the characteristics of the individual displays with MTF values of 0.64 and 0.53 and NPS values of 6.24 × 10?6 and 5.87 × 10?6 mm2. The polarizing glasses cause minimal reduction in sharpness and high‐frequency noise. The MTFs in the upper images observed with glasses are decreased to 0.54 and 0.47, while the NPS are decreased to 2.86 × 10?6 and 2.01 × 10?6 mm2. When both displays are turned on and using the mirror and glasses, the observed luminance for each eye is increased from the luminance of the individual displays owing to crosstalk. We find that sharpness and noise are not affected by the interaction between the displays at the particular geometry tested in this study.  相似文献

In stereoscopic images, the crossing point of the viewing directions of the two eyes determines the perceived depth. Assuming that accommodation is affected by the positions of the crossing point, the effect of crossing point on minimum angle of resolution (MAR) was investigated. For 40 participants, MAR was measured by two‐alternative forced choice where Snellen optotype E of up and down directions were used as two kinds of stimuli. As the crossing point of the viewing direction of the left and right eyes moves farther from the sample display, the ability to identify the direction of letter E decreases at the optotype of the same line thickness. The change of MAR shows linear trends with respect to the optical power change that are the reciprocal of the distance from the participant to the crossing points located out of screen and on screen.  相似文献

Indium tin oxide‐coated thin films (200 nm) are deposited on glass substrates by using R.f. sputtering technique. Here, we investigate the influence of new technique of treatment, which is called as “oil thermal annealing” on the nano‐structured indium tin oxide thin films at fixed temperature (150 °C) which improves adhesion strength, electrical conductivity and optical properties (transmittance) of the films. Oil thermal annealing is used to reduce inherent defects that may be introduced during the prepared thin film and cooling processes. Proposed technique is highly suitable for liquid crystal displays, solar cells and organic light emitting diodes, and many other display‐related applications.  相似文献

In order to investigate visual experience for watching the autostereoscopic three‐dimensional (3D) projection display, we conduct a subjective evaluation experiment by a questionnaire when viewing video clips. Factor analysis is adopted to classify the evaluation items for the perpetual constructs of visual experience. Then a mixed design with repeated measurement analysis of variance with dimension and display duration as factors is carried out on the evaluation data to check the factorial effects and interactions for statistical significance. The results of factor analysis extract five factors including visual comfort, image quality, distortion, naturalness, and presence, which can be used as comprehensive indicators to evaluate the autostereoscopic 3D projection display. The results of analysis of variance indicate that image quality, which is used to assess two‐dimensional contents, is no longer applicable. It is necessary to give consideration to depth when evaluating 3D visual experience. Although 3D scenes enhance the overall subjective performance such as naturalness and presence, the health issues and stereoscopic distortion related to the introduction of depth cannot be ignored.  相似文献

The effects of both the degree of grafting and γ irradiation on the thermal stability and structural characteristic of polypropylene‐graft‐polyvinylpyrrolidone and polypropylene‐graft‐polyvinylpyrrolidone modified with α‐cyano‐δ‐(2‐thienyl) crotononitrile were investigated. The employed techniques were thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermogravimetry, and X‐ray diffraction. The thermal stability of various polymeric substrates was investigated through the determination of the degradation temperature and activation energy of degradation. The effects of different parameters on the structural characteristics of different films were investigated through the determination of possible changes in the degree of ordering of the polymeric substrates. The results revealed that the thermal stability of the trunk polymer, grafted polymer, and polymer modified by α‐cyano‐δ‐(2‐thienyl) crotononitrile increased progressively with an increasing degree of grafting. The increase was, however, more pronounced for the sample undergoing the lowest degree of grafting. The activation energy of the thermal degradation process remained almost unchanged, and this indicated that the degradation processes of the different films followed almost the same mechanism. The γ irradiation at a dose of 60 kGy of the sulfur‐treated polymeric films [i.e., the polymeric films treated with α‐cyano‐δ‐(2‐thienyl) crotononitrile] reduced their thermal stability. This conclusion was reached by the consideration of the changes observed in the pre‐exponential factor of the Arrhenius equation due to different chemical and γ‐irradiation treatments. The degree of ordering, evidenced by X‐ray diffraction measurements of the trunk polymer, grafted polymer, and modified polymer, suffered a significant drop. This drop was much more pronounced for the sulfur‐containing polymeric materials. The observed drop in the degree of ordering of the polymeric substrates was taken as a measure of the structure collapse due to a certain treatment (degree of grafting and sulfur inclusion). The γ irradiation of the sulfur‐containing polymeric materials greatly increased their degree of ordering, which reached a value greater than that measured for the trunk polymer.
