In the current report, pure V2O5, a series of Gd doped V2O5 (1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt% and 10 wt%) and graphene integrated Gd–V2O5 photocatalysts have been prepared using a facile wet chemical approach. The effect of Gd+3 ions substitution and RGO support on V2O5 was studied by the different analytical techniques. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results showed the orthorhombic crystal structure of synthesized samples with crystallize size in range of 22–35 nm. Morphological analysis showed nanorods and nanorod arrays like appearance of V2O5, Gd–V2O5 and GdV-2O5/RGO, respectively. Gd–V2O5 and Gd–V2O5/RGO exhibited enhanced optical response in the visible region along with decrease in the band gap values for Gd doped V2O5 samples. BET surface area of Gd–V2O5 and Gd- V2O5/RGO was calculated as 12.39 g/m2 and 15.35 g/m2 that was found to be higher than pristine V2O5. To study the photocatalytic activity of synthesized photocatalysts, methylene blue (MB) was chosen as model pollutant. Among the Gd doped V2O5 samples, highest photocatalytic activity (45.62%) was achieved by optimal concentration of 5 wt% Gd–V2O5 that is accredited to effective separation of electron-hole pairs. While Gd–V2O5/RGO showed 2.1 times higher dye removal (97.12%) than unsupported Gd–V2O5, under the visible light irradiation. The significantly high photocatalytic activity of Gd–V2O5/RGO is due to the synergistic effect aroused by combined action of Gd+3 ions doping and advantageous properties of highly conductive and large surfaced graphene. Recycling experiments for V2O5 derivatives showed good stability and recyclability of photocatalysts. Additionally, Gd–V2O5/RGO was found to be more potential anti-bacterial agent than V2O5 and Gd–V2O5.  相似文献

Specialized varieties of sugar beets (Beta vulgaris L.) may be an eligible feedstock for advanced biofuel designation under the USA Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. These non-food industrial beets could double ethanol production per hectare compared to alternative feedstocks. A mixed-integer mathematical programming model was constructed to determine the breakeven price of ethanol produced from industrial beets, and to determine the optimal size and biorefinery location. The model, based on limited field data, evaluates Southern Plains beet production in a 3-year crop rotation, and beet harvest, transportation, and processing. The optimal strategy depends critically on several assumptions including a just-in-time harvest and delivery system that remains to be tested in field trials. Based on a wet beet to ethanol conversion rate of 110 dm3 Mg−1 and capital cost of 128 M$ for a 152 dam3 y−1 biorefinery, the estimated breakeven ethanol price was 507 $ m−3. The average breakeven production cost of corn (Zea mays L.) grain ethanol ranged from 430 to 552 $ m−3 based on average net corn feedstock cost of 254 and 396 $ m−3 in 2014 and 2013, respectively. The estimated net beet ethanol delivered cost of 207 $ m−3 was lower than the average net corn feedstock cost of 254–396$ m−3 in 2013 and 2014. If for a mature industry, the cost to process beets was equal to the cost to process corn, the beet breakeven ethanol price would be $387 m-3 (587 $ m−3 gasoline equivalent).  相似文献

In this work a multicommuted flow system employing copper–4,4′- dipyridyl coordination compound as the solid-phase reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of reducing sugar was developed. The coordination compound was synthesized through a reaction of the 4,4′-dipyridyl and copper (II) nitrate, under hydrothermal conditions. The complex was characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), power X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Based on the characterization, a multicommuted spectrophotometric procedure for the determination of reducing sugar using copper (II) complex as solid reagent is proposed. The proposed method was based on the redox reaction between a monosaccharide, such as fructose and glucose (reducing sugar) and Cu(II). This reaction, mediated in an alkaline medium, produces a yellow compound that can be determined by absorption electronic spectroscopy (λABS = 420 nm). Under optimum experimental conditions, a linear response ranging from 1.0 to 20.0 g L−1 (R = 0.9978 and n = 5), a detection (3σ criterion) and quantification (10σ criterion) limit estimated at 0.23 and 0.75 g L−1, respectively, a standard deviation relative of 4.7% (n = 7), for a reference solution of 10.0 g L−1 reducing sugar, and a sampling rate of 75 determinations per hour were achieved. The proposed system was applied to the determination of reducing sugars in coconut water and juices. The analysis of ten samples and the application of the t-test to the results found, and those obtained using reference procedures (AOAC), provided no significant differences at a 95% confidence level. This system enabled the analysis of reducing sugar with ease and simplicity, providing a significant economy of the solid reagent (600 μg per determination) and reducing effluent generation.  相似文献

The visible light driven Bi2MoO6 photocatalyst doped with different contents of Ag nanoparticles was successfully synthesized by a combination of hydrothermal and sonochemical methods. The as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and UV–visible spectroscopy to investigate crystalline structure, morphology, composition and photocatalytic properties. XRD patterns and TEM images of the samples revealed pure phase orthorhombic Bi2MoO6 nanoplates without any detection of Ag dopant due to its low concentration and very tiny particle size. TEM images showed that Ag nanoparticles with the size of 10–15 nm were dispersed randomly on the surface of Bi2MoO6. The XPS analysis of Ag/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites revealed the presence of additional metallic Ag. Photocatalytic activities of the Ag/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites were evaluated by determining the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light radiation. In this research, the 10 wt% Ag/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites showed the best photocatalytic activity. The results suggest that the dispersion of Ag nanoparticles on the surface of Bi2MoO6 significantly enhances its photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

A diverse range of genetic elements has been used to develop genetically modified organisms (GMOs) over the last 18 years. Screening methods that target few elements, such as the Cauliflower Mosaic Virus 35S promoter (P-35S) and Agrobacterium tumefaciens nopaline terminator (T-nos), are not sufficient to screen GMOs. In the present study, a multiplex PCR system for all globally commercialized GM soybean events was developed to easily trace the events. For this purpose, screening elements of 24 GM soybean events were investigated and 9 screening targets were selected and divided into three individual triplex PCR systems: P-35S, ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase small subunit promoter of Arabidopsis thaliana, T-nos, T-35S, pea E9 terminator, open reading frame 23 terminator of A. tumefaciens, proteinase inhibitor II terminator of potato, acetohydroxy acid synthase large subunit terminator of A. thaliana, and the revealed 3′ flanking sequences of DP-305423-1. The specificity of the assays was confirmed using thirteen GM soybean events as the respective positive/negative controls. The limit of detection of each multiplex set, as determined using certified reference materials of specific GM events, ranged from 0.03 to 0.5%, depending upon target. Furthermore, 26 food samples that contained soybean ingredients, which were purchased from the USA, China, Japan, and Korea, were analyzed, 17 of which contained one or more GM soybean events. These results suggest that the developed screening method can be used to efficiently track and identify 24 GM soybean events in food and feed.  相似文献

研究了海藻化工中以氢氧化钙作为钙化剂的新型钙化工艺,使用氢氧化钙+氯化钙作为褐藻酸钠的钙化剂替代传统的单一氯化钙。确定的双钙钙化工艺条件:每升褐藻酸钠胶液(褐藻酸钠质量浓度为2.5 g/L),添加氯化钙溶液29.0 mL(质量分数为5%),添加氢氧化钙溶液13.75 mL(质量分数为5%),复合钙化剂中氯化钙与氢氧化钙物质的量比为1.19∶1。与传统工艺相比,新型钙化工艺褐藻酸钠的产率未有明显变化,得到的褐藻酸钠粘度稍有降低,粘度由275.1 mPa·s降低至241.3 mPa·s;氯化钙使用量降低40%以上,总钙添加量减少19%。双钙钙化工艺实现了对钙化废水的再利用,废水中钙质量浓度经处理由483 mg/L降到20 mg/L左右,电导率由6.84 mS/cm降至4.28 mS/cm;经脱钙处理的钙化废水回用后对产品褐藻酸钠的产率和粘度没有显著影响。新工艺操作简单,不仅有效减少了钙化废水中离子的引入,同时可以实现低成本地脱钙,脱钙后的废水可以作为冲稀水回收利用,减少了水资源的消耗,为海藻化工行业的减排提供了一条新的工艺途径。  相似文献

Theabrownins (TB) are polymeric phenolic compounds associated with the multiple bioactivities of Pu-erh tea, a post-fermented Chinese dark tea. High-TB instant Pu-erh tea was produced via a novel submerged fermentation (SF) using Aspergillus tubingensis and compared with samples produced commercially via the conventional solid-state fermentation (SSF). Viable microorganisms and microbial toxins, especially aflatoxins B1, G1, B2, G2, cyclopiazonic acid, fumonisins B1, B2, B3 and ochratoxin A, were below the detection limit in all samples. Fewer microbial metabolites were found in SF instant tea compared with the SSF teas. Based on an adult consuming 1 g of instant Pu-erh tea daily, the dietary intake of investigated elements was below the safe limits recommended by various authorities. Tasters viewed the instant tea infusions as very mild, smooth, mellow and full. This suggested that submerged fermentation using A. tubingensis offers a speedy and safe alternative to commercial production of instant Pu-erh tea.  相似文献

The synergistic effects of bioactive compounds of Tinospora cordifolia have insulin mimicking and hypoglycemic activity, however, low bioavailability and poor stability limits its potential. In the present study, an appropriate delivery system was developed for the controlled release of its anti-diabetic activity. The bioactive compounds such as palmatine, berberine and palmatoside had better binding energy as observed in docking studies compared to that of the commercial active compounds. However, as these biocompounds from Tinospora cordifolia are associated with low stability and poor bioavailability, these compounds were encapsulated in a core-shell matrix of whey protein isolate. The bioactive compounds had highest antidiabetic activity in chloroform extract with an IC50 concentration of 11.34 mg/ml. An increase in 28.12% activity was observed in nanoemulsion form with an average size of 82.68 ± 4.37 nm. The bioactive compounds were further encapsulated by electrospray technique for increased stability. The particles had an encapsulation efficiency of 91.2 ± 3.27% with an average particle size of 187 ± 2.71 nm. The kinetic study revealed the complete release of bioactive compounds after 24 h of incubation in buffer solution. This formulation can be further explored as novel nutraceutical delivery system with minimal side effects as compared to their synthetic counterparts. Considering the potential application of this developed technology, further upscaling as well as in-vivo experimentation on small as well as large animals should be performed.  相似文献

The photocatalytic oxidation of resorcinol, a potent endocrine disrupting chemical, in oxygenated aqueous suspensions of pure and cupric ions modified Degussa P25 titanium dioxide has been investigated at pH 3.0 ± 0.5. The initial rate of photocatalytic oxidation of resorcinol increased until an optimum dissolved cupric ions concentration was reached at 1.04 mM. At the optimum concentration of cupric ions, the initial rate of photocatalytic mineralisation and degradation of resorcinol was improved by 400%. The observed beneficial effect of cupric ions on the initial rate of resorcinol oxidation could be attributed to the formation of complex and its participation in the photoredox cyclic reaction.Two of the initial oxidation intermediates detected were 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene and 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene. These intermediates were formed via hydroxylation of the aromatic ring of resorcinol. Evidences have revealed that 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene interacted strongly with cupric ions forming copper(II)-trihydroxybenzoate complexes that possessed good adsorption onto TiO2 surface. These dual-effects help to draw the metal ions closer to the photocatalyst surface and subsequently trigger the electron trapping mechanism by cupric ions. As a result, this improved the charge carriers’ separation. Furthermore, in the presence of oxygen, reoxidation of photoreduced cupric ions occurred and this eliminated the possibility of copper photodeposition, while inducing a photoredox cyclic reaction to regenerate copper species that may potentially act as co-catalyst for the oxidation of 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene. In contrast, no obvious complex formation was seen between 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene and cupric ions. This pointed to an intriguing finding which indicates that the positioning of functional group on benzene ring influences the role of cupric ions.  相似文献
