Modeling and analysis of hierarchical cellular networks with bidirectional overflow and take-back strategies under generally distributed cell residence times

The rapid growth of wireless services and mobile users drives a great interest in cellular networks with a hierarchical structure. Hierarchical cellular networks (HCNs) can provide high system capacity, efficient channel utilization and inherent load-balancing capability. In this paper, we develop an analytical model and a performance analysis method for a two-layer HCN with bidirectional overflow and take-back strategies. Mobile users are divided into two classes. The call requests (including new and handoff calls) of fast and slow users are preferably assigned to the macrolayer and microlayer, respectively. A call from a fast user or slow user can overflow to its non-preferable layer if there is no channel available. The successful overflow call can be taken back to its preferable layer if a channel becomes available. Since the commonly used exponentially distributed assumption for cell residence time and then the channel occupancy time does not hold for emerging mobile networks, we model various cell residence times by general distributions to adapt to more flexible mobility environments. The channel occupancy times are derived in terms of the Laplace transforms of various cell residence times. The handoff rates, overflow rates and take-back rates of each layer are also derived in terms of the new call arrival rates and related probabilities. The stationary probabilities (and then the performance measures) are determined on the basis of the theory of multi-dimensional loss systems.     

Fast Positive Feedback Between the Adrenocortical Stress Response and a Brain Mechanism Involved in Aggressive Behavior.

Aggressive behavior induces an adrenocortical stress response, and sudden stressors often precipitate violent behavior. Experiments in rats revealed a fast, mutual, positive feedback between the adrenocortical stress response and a brain mechanism controlling aggression. Stimulation of the aggressive area in the hypothalamus rapidly activated the adrenocortical response, even in the absence of an opponent and fighting. Hypothalamic aggression, in turn, was rapidly facilitated by a corticosterone injection in rats in which the natural adrenocortical stress response was prevented by adrenalectomy. The rapidity of both effects points to a fast, mutual, positive feedback of the controlling mechanisms within the time frame of a single conflict. 高酸原油脱酸工艺技术研究

介绍了一种原油脱酸工艺方法。研究了温度、时间对高酸原油脱酸的影响,脱酸温度大于 260℃,脱酸反应较快。分析了高酸原油脱酸前后馏分酸值的变化,脱酸反应对130℃以上各馏分酸值降低都较多,180℃以上馏分脱酸率在80％以上。

选取中原油田的大量岩心，采用常规岩石力学测试方法测定了岩石的可钻性、声波测试方法测定了岩石和岩屑声波时差，通过对测得的岩石可钻性级值和声波时差进行回归拟合，得出了中原油田岩石可钻性与声波时差的关系式。现场应用表明，该关系式较好地反映了中原油田地层岩石可钻性与声波时差的关系，可以在优选钻头时作为参考或直接应用。

利用铬版清洗机对CSTN-LCD用铬版进行清洗处理,分析了清洗过程中出现的铬层脱落现象,铬层脱落与轴向喷射压力和水平切力密切相关,通过调整转速和喷射压力探索了安全使用条件:在转速不超过1000r/min,喷射压力低于0.5×105Pa的情况下使用铬版清洗机进行清洗是相对安全的。同时采用预清洗处理的方法满足清洁要求,使换线时间由平均3h缩短到平均1h以内,年产能提高270000片。     

The Precedence Effect in Three Species of Birds (Melopsittacus undulatus, Serinus canaria, and Taeniopygia guttata).

The perceived locations of paired auditory images, simulating direct sounds and their echoes, have been recently studied in budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus; M. L. Dent & R. J. Dooling, 2003a, 2003b). In this article, the authors extend those experiments to include measurements of the precedence effect using a discrimination paradigm in two additional bird species: canaries (Serinus canaria) and zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata). Although time courses of summing localization, localization dominance, and echo thresholds were similar across all species, budgerigars had slightly higher overall levels of discrimination. The results from these experiments add further support that the precedence effect in birds is similar to that found in other animals and that the ability to suppress echoes that might degrade localization and auditory object perception may be a general property of the vertebrate auditory system.
