Column setup has been widely utilized in the petroleum and chemistry industries. However, with the fast progress of industries and the increasingly serious energy shortage, designing a new column setup with better performance and higher capacity becomes more urgent. In order to improve column's capacity and expand operating condition, a new type of column tray named novel vertical spray packing (NVSP) tray was designed and experimented. The performances of the novel tray, including pressure drop, weeping, entrainment and tray efficiency, were tested in a plexiglass column. In addition, performances of the novel tray were compared with that of the sieve tray and the Glitsch V1 valve tray. Based on the experiment data, the mathematical correlations of pressure drop, weeping and entrainment for the novel tray were established by regression analysis method. A fundamental model of dry pressure drop of the novel tray was promoted at the form of sum mode. The results indicate that the novel tray has wider operating condition and better performance. 相似文献

A new model is derived to estimate the size and fraction of aluminum agglomerates at the surface of a burning propellant. The basic idea relies on well‐known pocket models in which aluminum is supposed to aggregate and melt within pocket volumes imposed by largest oxidizer particles. The proposed model essentially relaxes simple assumptions of previous pocket models on propellant structure by accounting for an actual microstructure obtained by packing. The use of statistical tools from stochastic geometry enables to determine a statistical pocket size volume and hence agglomerate diameter and agglomeration fraction. Application to several AP/Al propellants gives encouraging results that are shown to be superior to former pocket models. 相似文献

Layout design of a satellite module directly concerns its structure, performance, service life, and cost of assembly and maintenance. It is an important and NP-complete problem. The main difficulties consist of combinatorial optimizations in mathematics and system complexity in engineering practice, and relevant researches are far from enough. This paper proposes a basic solution strategy for the optimal layout design of a satellite module, which consists of two stages, global (or loose) layout design and detailed layout design. Corresponding algorithms are then developed while taking the layout design of an international commercial communication satellite as an example. They are the centripetal balancing method for global layout design and a quasi Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) model-based Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm for layout optimization. Densification of mono-sized sphere packings under three-dimensional (3D) vibration is experimentally studied. The effects of an operational condition, such as vibration amplitude and frequency and feeding method, on packing density are systematically investigated. The results indicate that the dense packings can be achieved by proper control of both vibration amplitude and frequency. The feeding method plays an important role in densification. Higher packing densities can be obtained when the number of particles fed per batch is less than one layer. Packing density decreases with increasing number of particles fed per batch, but keeps constant when the number of particles per batch is larger than three layers. Through the extrapolation on packing density obtained from different sized containers, the maximum packing density is 0.69 for the total feeding method and 0.74 for the batch-wise feeding under the present experimental condition. The formation of ordered structure is discussed based on the particle interlayer diffusion. 相似文献
