The processing–property relationship of a model cryogenically mechanically alloyed polymer–polymer system [polycarbonate (PC) and poly(aryl ether ether ketone) (PEEK)] was investigated. PC and PEEK powders were cryogenically mechanically alloyed for 10 h, and the resulting two‐phase powder particles were processed into testable coupons with a miniature ram‐injection molder. The bulk mechanical properties of the coupons made from the mechanically alloyed powders and nonmechanically alloyed powders were investigated as a function of mechanical alloying and injection‐molding parameters. The injection‐molded coupons were mechanically tested in the three‐point‐bending mode. The results demonstrated that no measurable improvement was achieved in the energy to break, strain at failure, or failure strength in the coupons made from the mechanically alloyed materials in comparison with those of the coupons made from the nonmechanically alloyed powders. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the context of a European union‐supported network on “Reactive Surfactants for Heterophase Polymerization,” different polymerizable surfactants (surfmers) have been synthesized and engaged in the emulsion polymerization of styrene, butyl acrylate, and acrylic acid. The thermomechanical properties of films cast from these different latices are reported in this article. The evolution of the mechanical properties with temperature and the effect of water molecules on these properties are studied. We observed that the studied surfactants do not influence the properties of the dry films. However, some differences due to grafting of reactive surfactants appeared when the films were wet. The amount of water uptake is drastically decreased when only reactive surfactants are present in the film. Concerning the mechanical behavior of the wet films, a decrease of the plastic flow stress is observed for all the samples whatever the nature of the surfactant (reactive or conventional). Hence, calorimetric measurements and dynamic mechanical analysis are used to identify the possible mechanisms that induce the change in the mechanical behavior of the latex films. In the case of reactive surfactant grafted to the polymer, the very low value of water uptake is accompanied by a plasticization of the polymer. In contrast, no plasticizing effect is observed in the case of nonreactive surfactant, even if the amount of water is very large. Finally, the tensile behavior of the styrene–butyl acrylate copolymer versus temperature is analyzed in the frame of the quasi point defects (qpd) model. Both rubber elasticity and chain orientation effects are taken into account to describe the behavior laws at large extensions (i.e., ? ≈ 1.2). © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 改进传统制备聚偏氟乙烯(PVDF)均相阳离子交换膜的方法,利用引发剂和浓硫酸磺化直接制备PVDF均相阳离子交换膜。通过溶剂蒸发法制备了含引发剂过氧化苯甲酰(BPO)和/或偶氮二异丁腈(AIBN)的PVDF阳离子交换膜,研究不同引发剂及其含量对膜结构和膜性能的影响。利用FE-SEM和FTIR分析了膜的形貌结构。结果表明:含有BPO的阳离子交换膜中PVDF与苯乙烯形成了半互穿网络结构,而含有AIBN的阳离子交换膜中苯乙烯接枝在线性PVDF链上并形成相分离结构。PVDF阳离子交换膜的结构和性能受膜制备时AIBN和BPO的添加量影响。当AIBN占PVDF5%(质量分数)、BPO占PVDF2%(质量分数)时,离子交换膜的膜电阻达最低值4.2Ω×cm~2,离子交换容量最高为1.59 meq/g;当AIBN占PVDF 3%(质量分数)、BPO占PVDF2%(质量分数)时,离子交换膜的迁移数为95.15%。最后通过循环伏安法和计时电位法进一步验证了引发剂对膜电阻和迁移数影响的实验结论。 相似文献

二氧化碳捕集与封存(CCS)各工艺过程的设计、运行都依赖于对CO2及其混合物热物理性质的深入理解。同时,CCS的规模化发展和商业化进程,对CO2混合物及其热物性的准确性提出了更高的要求。本文从实验数据、理论模型和典型应用3个方面综述了CO2及其混合物热物性的发展现状,并尝试对发展趋势进行归纳。在实验研究方面,CO2混合体系的研究进展视组分不同,差异较大,其中CO2-N2、CO2-CH4、CO2-H2O和CO2-H2二元体系已形成较完善的物性数据库,而CO2-NH3、CO2-NO x 和CO2-CO体系的物性数据还比较欠缺;在物性估算方面,面向CCS的物性估算模型研究自2008年开始活跃,基于不同理论构架,目前已逐步形成面向CCS的多元化的物性估算体系。物性研究在CCS中的应用主要体现在物性是支撑CCS过程研究的基础,其不准确性在过程模拟或计算中会被“放大”,从而影响过程评估的准确性,本文从物性在循环构建和能效分析中的作用以及CO2水合物的形成3个方面入手做了说明。文章最后对面向CCS的物性研究趋势进行了梳理,对分子模拟技术、通用性强的物性估算模型和物性在过程设计和循环分析中的角色进行了展望。 相似文献

Investigations on white spirit and acetone permeation resistance of modified polyamide and nylon 6 clay (MPANYC) blends and their corresponding polyethylene/MPANYC bottles were reported in this study. The white spirit and acetone permeation resistance of MPANYC sheets improve consistently with increasing NYC contents present in MPANYC resins after blending nylon 6 clay (NYC) in modified polyamide (MPA) resins. However, the order of barrier improvement of the PE/MPANYC and PE/NYC bottle specimens is not corresponding to the order of barrier improvement of the MPANYC and/or NYC barrier resins added in PE. The blow-molded PE/NYC bottle specimen exhibits similarly worse white spirit and acetone solvent permeation resistance as the PE bottle specimen, wherein no clearly formed NYC laminas but only dispersed NYC droplets or agglomerates were found on the fracture surfaces of the PE/NYC bottles. However, after blending optimum compositions of MPANYC in PE, the PE/MPANYC bottles with demarcated MPANYC laminas exhibit significantly better white spirit and acetone permeation resistance than the PE/MPA bottle, wherein the white spirit and acetone permeation rates of the PE/MPA8NYC1 bottle are about 1.3 and 1.4 times slower than those of the PE/MPA bottle, respectively. In order to understand these interesting barrier properties of PE/MPANYC and PE/NYC bottles, rheological, thermal, wide angle X-ray diffraction and morphological properties of the base MPANYC and NYC resins and their corresponding morphology present in the blow-molded bottles were investigated. 相似文献

The focus of this work was to find a low-cost precursor for carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membranes, and a simple way of producing them. In addition, several ways of modifying a carbon material are described. The modification method used in this study was metal doping of carbon. CMS membranes were formed by vacuum carbonization of cellulose and metal loaded cellulose. Metal additives include oxides of Ca, Mg, Fe(III) and Si, and nitrates of Ag, Cu and Fe(III).The carbon membrane containing Fe-nitrate has promising separation performance for the gas pairs O2/N2 and CO2/CH4. Carbon containing nitrates of Cu or Ag show high selectivity, but reduced O2 and CO2 permeability compared to carbon with Fe-nitrate. Element analysis indicates that Cu migrates to the carbon surface, creating an extra layer resistance to gas transport. A silver mirror is also seen on the surface of Ag-nitrate-containing carbon. However, the Ag- and Cu-containing membranes show a high H2 permeability. Adding metal oxides makes the carbon membranes retard the transport of easily condensable gases (e.g. CO2). This can be exploited for enhanced H2/CO2 separation efficiency. 相似文献

用在50L固相接枝反应器中合成的等规聚丙烯接枝马来酸酐(PP-g—MAH)作界面改性剂,制备了PP—g—MAH/PP/滑石粉复合材料。研究了PP—g—MAH/PP/滑石粉复合材料的形态结构和力学性能。结果表明,PP—g—MAH对PP/滑石粉复合物的缺口冲击强度、弯曲强度和拉伸强度均有增强作用;PP—g—MAH对PP/滑石粉复合物表观粘度几乎没有影响。SEM观察发现PP—g—MAH对PP/滑石粉复合物相界面有明显的改善。 相似文献
