A comprehensive analysis is performed to evaluate the effect of weight, height and body mass index (BMI) of occupants on side impact injuries at different body regions. The accident dataset for this study is based on the National Automotive Sampling System-Crashworthiness Data System (NASS-CDS) for accident year 2000–08. The mean BMI values for driver and front passenger are estimated from all types of crashes using NASS database, which clearly indicates that mean BMI has been increasing over the years in the USA. To study the effect of BMI in side impact injuries, BMI was split into three groups namely (1) thin (BMI < 21), (2) normal (BMI 24–27), (3) obese (BMI > 30). For more clear identification of the effect of BMI in side impact injuries, a minimum gap of three BMI is set in between each adjacent BMI groups. Car model years from MY1995–1999 to MY2000–2008 are chosen in order to identify the degree of influence of older and newer generation of cars in side impact injuries. Impact locations particularly side-front (F), side-center (P) and side-distributed (Y) are chosen for this analysis. Direction of force (DOF) considered for both near side and far side occupants are 8 o’clock, 9 o’clock, 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock, 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock respectively. Age <60 years is also one of the constraints imposed on data selection to minimize the effect of bone strength on the occurrence of occupant injuries. AIS2+ and AIS3+ injury risk in all body regions have been plotted for the selected three BMI groups of occupant, delta-V 0–60 kmph, two sets (old and new) of car model years. The analysis is carried with three approaches: (a) injury risk percentage based on simple graphical method with respect to a single variable, (b) injury distribution method where the injuries are marked on the respective anatomical locations and (c) logistic regression, a statistical method, considers all the related variables together. Lower extremity injury risk appears to be high for thin BMI group. It is found that BMI does not have much influence on head injuries but it is influenced more by the height of the occupant. Results of logistic analysis suggest that BMI, height and weight may have significant contribution towards side impact injuries across different body regions.  相似文献

采用旋转粘度仪和动态DSC技术分析研究了端氨基亚胺齐聚物改性BMI树脂的固化反应过程和粘度特性。其结果表明,树脂在130℃-195℃之间存在一个宽广的低粘度平台区;固化反应过程中的吸热和放热的共同作用使得固化反应仅有一个平缓的放热峰,固化反应为1.02级反应,反应活化能为107kJ/mol。  相似文献

A life span health-behavior model was investigated in this longitudinal study of personality influences on health. Teachers assessed 963 elementary schoolchildren on traits that formed scales assessing the dimensions of the five-factor (Big Five) model of personality. Smoking, alcohol use, body mass index (BMI), and self-rated health were assessed 40 years later in midlife. Childhood personality traits were significantly associated with all 4 outcomes, and the effects were consistently larger for women than men. For men and women, childhood Conscientiousness was associated with less adult smoking and better adult self-rated health and, for women only, with lower adult BMI. Mediation analyses suggested that the effects of Conscientiousness on self-rated health were partially mediated by smoking and BMI. These findings add to the growing evidence that childhood personality traits predict adult health outcomes and are discussed in terms of future testing of the life span health-behavior model. 以聚醚砜(PES)作为双马树脂(BMI)的增韧剂,以3,3′-二烯丙基双酚A(DP)作为改性剂,采用非等温DSC(差示扫描量热)法,研究了PES改性低温固化BMI/DP体系的固化反应动力学。结果表明:根据Kissinger方程、Crane方程和n级动力学模型计算出BMI/DP体系的固化动力学方程为dα/dt=2.1×10~(11)(1-α)~(1.07)e×p(-13.89×10~3/T);采用红外光谱(FT-IR)法跟踪固化反应过程,确定了BMI/DP体系的固化工艺为"130℃/3 h→140℃/1h→160℃/2 h→180℃/2 h"。  相似文献

Integrating research on human body shapes with studies of health cues in food package design, this research explores how food packages resembling humanoid shapes impact consumers’ evaluation of food healthiness. Adopting a self-referencing perspective, two studies show that packages resembling slim humanoid shapes lead to foods being evaluated as healthier, especially with female consumers whose bodily characteristics mark them as being not thin. Study 1 uses packages designed to mimic humanoid body shapes and shows that slimness effects depend on consumer gender and body mass index (BMI): The heuristic that slim packages contain more healthy foods is more pronounced with women and increasing BMI. Study 2 replicates these findings and offers process evidence for self-referencing as a mediator of the package slimness – healthiness evaluation. Together the findings highlight package shape as an important cue to food healthiness evaluation and aid marketers and designers in better matching packages to target audiences and products.  相似文献

基于2014年中国劳动力动态调查数据,运用描述性分析、Logistic回归模型,探究了社区游憩设施密度对居民BMI的影响。研究发现社区游憩设施密度对城乡居民的BMI存在影响差异,游憩设施中的健身设施密度的增加可以显著降低城市居民的超重或肥胖几率,而对乡村居民并无显著作用,影响乡村居民BMI的关键因素是其收入水平。城乡居民的健康意识以及经济发展水平差异,造成了个体健康方面的差异。研究结果将对我国城乡社区规划具有一定的指导意义。  相似文献
