Growth Defects in Langasite Crystals Observed with White Beam Synchrotron Radiation Topography

Langasite single crystal was grown by the Czochralski method and its perfection was assessed by white beam synchrotron radiation topography. It is found that the growth core and the growth striations are the primary growth defects and they show strong X-ray kinematical contrast in the topographs. Another typical defect in LGS crystal is dislocation. The formation mechanisms of these growth defects in LGS crystals were discussed.

针对泌阳凹陷深层系测井评价的难题，进行了岩心实验研究，为区域测井资料的处理解释提供了依据；基于岩心、试油及其它资料，利用地区经验及多种方法，确立了适合区域测井评价的基本储层参数计算模型及油气层评价常用参数下限标准，优选出了油气层判别地区适用方法，形成了一套有效的综合测井解释实用技术，提高了测井评价的准确性，满足了勘探开发生产需要。同时说明了地区经验及多信息、多方法的综合判别在解决低孔、低渗油气层测井评价难题中的重要性。

Comments on an article by Eidelson and Eidelson (see record 2003-03645-004) which made an important contribution, at a critical juncture, to the discussion of international conflicts by identifying core dimensions that allow for the systematic examination of the problem. Their article also posed a danger that mirrors a disturbing trend in the public discourse about conflicts and injustice. In response to the recent escalation of international violence and years of mixed results of engagement in debates centered around grievances of injustice (such as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict), many politicians, pundits, and scholars have advocated addressing conflicts by separating them from the underlying grievances and the ongoing injustice. 砾岩储层精细描述中标准测井资料的应用

克拉玛依油田七区的标准测井资料是指使用标准电极系视电阻率测井、自然电位测井和井径测井,以相同的1:500深度比例尺及相同的横向比例进行测井作业所取得的资料.这种资料本来并不具备定量解释储层孔隙度和含油饱和度的能力,但这种资料占该区测井资料总量的比率高达34%.利用标准电极系视电阻率资料和岩心分析资料建立了视电阻率-岩性图版,利用自然电位减小系数α和岩心孔隙度分析资料φ建立了α-φ图版,根据综合测井资料求出标准测井视电阻率校正系数,进而确定了饱和度计算方程的参数.与相应的综合测井资料计算结果相对比,用该方法得到的孔隙度平均绝对误差及相对误差分别为1.85%和11.88%;含油饱和度平均绝对误差及相对误差分别为9.08%和24.75%.将该方法有选择地应用到该区砾岩储层精细描述研究中,弥补了缺乏综合测井资料无法进行测井储层评价及参数研究的缺陷.     

浇筑式沥青混凝土心墙型式改进的建议

本文根据浇筑式沥青混凝土主、副心墙材料的性能，分折了沥青混凝土心墙施工或运行中破坏的原因，建议用编织一无纺复合布取代预制块，以避免主、副心墙材料变形性能相差悬残对心墙运行的不利影响，从而发挥浇筑式沥青混凝土心墙的优越性。     

基于形态学top-hat算子的多传感器图像融合

本文根据形态学top-hat算子能够提取图像中极大值与极小值区域的特点,将其应用于多传感器图像融合的两个重要领域——多聚焦图像融合和高分辨、多光谱图像融合.实验中将本文方法与Laplacian塔型变换、子波变换、主分量分析等方法进行了比较,结果表明本文所提的基于top-hat算子的融合方法具有优越的性能,拓广了top-hat算子的应用范围.     

The Precedence Effect in Three Species of Birds (Melopsittacus undulatus, Serinus canaria, and Taeniopygia guttata).

The perceived locations of paired auditory images, simulating direct sounds and their echoes, have been recently studied in budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus; M. L. Dent & R. J. Dooling, 2003a, 2003b). In this article, the authors extend those experiments to include measurements of the precedence effect using a discrimination paradigm in two additional bird species: canaries (Serinus canaria) and zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata). Although time courses of summing localization, localization dominance, and echo thresholds were similar across all species, budgerigars had slightly higher overall levels of discrimination. The results from these experiments add further support that the precedence effect in birds is similar to that found in other animals and that the ability to suppress echoes that might degrade localization and auditory object perception may be a general property of the vertebrate auditory system. The role of occlusion in the perception of depth, lightness, and opacity.

A theory is presented that explains how the visual system infers the lightness, opacity, and depth of surfaces from stereoscopic images. It is shown that the polarity and magnitude of image contrast play distinct roles in surface perception, which can be captured by 2 principles of perceptual inference. First, a contrast depth asymmetry principle articulates how the visual system computes the ordinal depth and lightness relationships from the polarity of local, binocularly matched image contrast. Second, a global transmittance anchoring principle expresses how variations in contrast magnitudes are used to infer the presence of transparent surfaces. It is argued that these principles provide a unified explanation of how the visual system computes the 3-D surface structure of opaque and transparent surfaces.
