Polymer electrolytes and interfaces in solid-state lithium metal batteries

The polymer electrolyte based solid-state lithium metal batteries are the promising candidate for the high-energy electrochemical energy storage with high safety and stability. Moreover, the intrinsic properties of polymer electrolytes and interface contact between electrolyte and electrodes have played critical roles for determining the comprehensive performances of solid-state lithium metal batteries. In this review, the development of polymer electrolytes with the design strategies by functional units adjustments are firstly discussed. Then the interfaces between polymer electrolyte and cathode/anode, including the interface issues, remedy strategies for stabilizing the interface contact and reducing resistances, and the in-situ polymerization method for enhancing the compatibilities and assembling the batteries with favorable performances, have been introduced. Lastly, the perspectives on developing polymer electrolytes by functional units adjustment, and improving interface contact and stability by effective strategies for solid-state lithium metal batteries have been provided.     

Interface engineering of copper-cobalt based heterostructure as bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting

It is of great significance to develop highly active and cost-effective electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline solution. Herein, we report an interface engineering strategy to fabricate 3D hierarchical CuCo₂O₄@CuCo₂S₄ heterostructure catalysts with efficient synergistic effects for water splitting. Owing to the special nano-architectures with abundant active interfaces, the as-prepared CuCo₂O₄@CuCo₂S₄ catalysts exhibit superior electrochemical activity and prominent electrochemical stability, with a small overpotential of 240 and 101 mV for oxygen and hydrogen evolution reactions to deliver a current density of 10 mA cm⁻², respectively. Remarkably, the CuCo₂O₄@CuCo₂S₄ materials directly applied as both anode and cathode electrode demonstrate excellent water splitting performance, achieving 10 mA cm⁻² at a low cell voltage of only 1.53 V, outperforming the integrated state-of-the-art RuO₂||Pt/C couple (1.56 V). Moreover, density functional theory calculations suggest that the excellent overall water splitting property of CuCo₂O₄@CuCo₂S₄ is attributed to a large amount of hierarchical hetero-interfaces, giving rise to effective adsorption and cleavage of H₂O molecules on the catalyst surface. This work represents a general strategy to exploit efficient and stable hybrid electrocatalysts for renewable energy applications by rational catalyst interface engineering.

界面流法计算反应堆六角形燃料组件中子通量密度分布

利用界面流法计算两维六角形轻水堆燃料组件中子通量密度分布。子区内中子源在空间上采用二次分布近似，还考虑了六角形组件周边水隙对组件内中子通量密度的影响。根据提出的模型，编制了TPHEX－E程序，并对一些轻水堆六角形组件问题作了计算，计算结果与蒙特卡罗方法计算结果进行了比较，符合良好。本程序可用于六角形轻水堆燃料组件计算。     

Effects of compressive and tensile stress on the growth mode of epitaxial oxide films

Oxide films were deposited on different substrates by laser molecular beam epitaxy. Reflection high-energy electron diffraction was performed to in situ investigate the change of growth mode and the lattice relaxation during the growth. An asymmetrical phenomenon was found in the two kinds of strain states, compressive stress and tensile stress of heterostructures with different lattice mismatch. In the case of BaTiO₃/SrTiO₃ (2.2%), 2D layer-by-layer growth mode without lattice relaxation can be maintained for a longer period for BTO films on STO with compressive stress, comparing to STO films on BTO with tensile stress. When MgO films were deposited on SrTiO₃ with a large mismatch of 7.8%, compressive stress leads to rapid lattice relaxation with a very thin wet layer, and 3D strained island were observed. As a comparison, SrTiO₃ films on MgO with tensile stress were configured. No RHEED patterns can be observed duo to a large tensile stress.
