Single‐Source Precursors For Synthesizing Bifunctional Periodic Mesoporous Organosilicas

A new class of bifunctional periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) composed of organosilicate building blocks with two different silicon sites have been synthesized from the single‐source bifunctional organosilica precursors tris(triethoxysilylethyl)ethoxysilane and bis(triethoxysilylethyl)diethoxysilane, respectively denoted MT³‐PMO and DT²‐PMO. The synthesis of these PMOs is achieved by the co‐assembly of a triblock‐copolymer Pluronic P123 template with the bifunctional organosilica precursor under acid‐catalyzed and inorganic‐salt‐assisted conditions. After template removal through solvent extraction, the MT³‐PMO and DT²‐PMO so obtained show well‐ordered mesopores and display large pore diameters (6–7 nm) and pore volumes (0.6–0.8 cm³ g^–1) with a narrow pore‐size distribution and high surface areas (700–800 m³ g^–1).

The role of occlusion in the perception of depth, lightness, and opacity.

A theory is presented that explains how the visual system infers the lightness, opacity, and depth of surfaces from stereoscopic images. It is shown that the polarity and magnitude of image contrast play distinct roles in surface perception, which can be captured by 2 principles of perceptual inference. First, a contrast depth asymmetry principle articulates how the visual system computes the ordinal depth and lightness relationships from the polarity of local, binocularly matched image contrast. Second, a global transmittance anchoring principle expresses how variations in contrast magnitudes are used to infer the presence of transparent surfaces. It is argued that these principles provide a unified explanation of how the visual system computes the 3-D surface structure of opaque and transparent surfaces. 位于蒙古国中部的尼尔金盆地是一个中生代裂谷盆地，目前仍处于勘探早期。盆地内下白垩统湖相泥岩和纸状页岩具有很强的生油能力，下白垩统的煤系地层及上二叠统-下侏罗统中富含有机质的泥岩和煤层是可能的气源岩；盆地内广泛分布着3套储集层；上侏罗统、下白垩统、上白垩统的泥岩是潜在的盖层；存在多种生储盖组合及远景圈闭类型。通过对石油地质条件的分析，认为尼尔金盆地很可能形成多套含油气层系和多种油气藏类型，推测在盆地中部和南部会有大的油气藏存在。
