Potential internal contamination of workers is monitored by periodic bioassay measurements interpreted in terms of intake and committed effective dose by the use of biokinetic and dosimetric models. After a prospective evaluation of exposure at a workplace, a suitable monitoring programme can be defined by choosing adequate measurement techniques and frequency. In this study, the sensitivity of a programme is evaluated by the minimum intake and dose, which may be detected with a given level of confidence by taking into account uncertainties on exposure conditions and measurements. This is made for programme optimisation, which is performed by comparing the sensitivities of different alternative programmes. These methods were applied at the AREVA NC reprocessing plant and support the current monitoring programme as the best compromise between the cost of the measurements and the sensitivity of the programme. 相似文献

This work is devoted to some recent developments in uncertainty analysis of the computer code responses used for accident management procedures in nuclear industry. The classical probabilistic approach to evaluate uncertainties is recalled. In this case, the statistical treatment of the code responses is based on the use of order statistics. It provides direct estimations of relevant statistical measures for safety studies. However, the lack of knowledge about uncertainty sources can deteriorate the decision-making. To respect the real state of knowledge, a second model, based on the Dempster–Shafer theory is introduced. It allows to mix the probabilistic approach with the possibility theory that is more appropriate when few information is available. An application of both methodologies to the uncertainty analysis of a LBLOCA transient (LOFT-L2-5) is given. 相似文献

A diagnostic technique based on excited-state complex (exciplex) fluorescence is reported for visualization of diffusion layers formed between mixing liquids. High-spatial-resolution instantaneous images and time-sequenced images are presented. Single drops and jets are visualized mixing in a liquid pool. Time-resolved images of exciplex fluorescence have also been obtained that provide information on the duration of the mixing event and the length and time scales of the diffusion process. The results demonstrate that the technique has the potential to provide new information concerning the physics of liquid mixing processes. 相似文献

Estrogen deficiency is considered to be the main cause of increased appetite and increased weight in postmenopausal women. In this period, reduced secretion of melatonin (MEL) was also observed. The aim of the study was to evaluate the secretion of melatonin, 17-β estradiol and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in relation to body mass index (BMI) in pre- and postmenopausal women. The study included 90 women divided into three equal groups: group I (control)—women without menstrual disorders, group II—postmenopausal women without change in appetite and body weight, group III—postmenopausal women experiencing increased appetite and weight gain. In each patient, serum melatonin, 17-β-estradiol, FSH and urine a 6-sulfatoxymelatonin (aMT6s) were determined. Compared to the control group, the level of melatonin and estradiol was statistically lower. The FSH level was higher than in the groups of postmenopausal women. No significant correlation was found in all groups between the level of melatonin and the levels of estradiol and FSH. A negative correlation was found between aMT6s excretion and BMI, and a positive correlation between the level of FSH and BMI, mainly in overweight women. The obtained results indicate a significant effect of melatonin deficiency on the process of weight gain in postmenopausal women and justify its use in treatment of these disorders. 相似文献

Acinetobacter baumannii is a nosocomial pathogen of urgent concern for public health due to rising rates of multidrug and pandrug resistance. In the context of environmental cues such as growth in human serum, A. baumannii is known to display adaptive efflux, in which a multitude of efflux-associated genes are upregulated, resulting in efflux-mediated drug tolerance in strains that are otherwise susceptible to antibiotic therapy. Previously, we identified a sulfonamide-containing scaffold molecule (ABEPI1) that reversed serum-associated antibiotic tolerance in A. baumannii. Herein, we present structure-activity relationship studies on 29 newly synthesized analogues. These molecules were characterized for their ability to potentiate multiple antibiotics in serum, reduce serum-associated ethidium bromide efflux and depolarize bacterial cell membranes. In addition, they were assessed for toxicity to mammalian cells. Collectively, these molecules may represent promising potential adjuvants for use in combination with new and existing antibiotics to treat A. baumannii bacterial infections. 相似文献
