The cyclic Douglas–Rachford algorithm with r-sets-Douglas–Rachford operators

The Douglas–Rachford (DR) algorithm is an iterative procedure that uses sequential reflections onto convex sets and which has become popular for convex feasibility problems. In this paper we propose a structural generalization that allows to use r-sets-DR operators in a cyclic fashion. We prove convergence and present numerical illustrations of the potential advantage of such operators with r>2 over the classical 2-sets-DR operators in a cyclic algorithm.

Dielectric properties and noncontact damage detection of plain-woven fabric glass fiber reinforced epoxy matrix composites using millimeter wavelength microwave

Electromagnetic wave reflections from glass fiber reinforced epoxy matrix composites with 0°/90° and ±45° fiber oriented plain-woven glass fabric (PW-GFRP-0/90, PW-GFRP-±45) at incident angles of 30°, 40° and 50° were measured in the frequency range 50-75 GHz using a free-space reflection measurement system. The complex dielectric constants of both composites were calculated using a simple transmission line theory. The complex dielectric constants of PW-GFRP-0/90 and PW-GFRP-±45 are similar and were measured to be ε′ = 4.61 ± 0.01 and ε″ = 0.16 ± 0.002, respectively.The damage stored in PW-GFRP-0/90 and PW-GFRP-±45 was also evaluated by dielectric constant changes using the same system at an incident angle of 30°. For both composites, ε′ decreased with increasing applied stress and damage parameter. The dielectric constant change is effective for detecting the damage stored in composites and can be used to quantitatively evaluate the damage.     

声表面波标签三次反射的分析

声表面波(SAW)射频标签中排列在一行的反射栅形成的三次反射造成了编码信号间的幅度不一致,破坏了有、无反射栅间的幅度动态范围,提高了对标签解码的要求。该文利用脉冲响应模型,推导了三次反射与每条反射栅的位置、反射系数和透射系数的关系。通过计算反射栅均匀排列的脉冲幅度编码标签的三次反射,与已有文献结论对比,验证了模型的有效性。仿真了非均匀排列、幅度补偿的脉冲位置编码标签的三次反射,提前预测了最大三次反射出现的位置和大小,为确定标签的查询周期、最后一条反射栅的反射系数以及增加相位编码信息设计提供了参考。     

Remarks on Muscle Contraction Mechanism

Muscle contraction mechanism is discussed by reforming the model described in an article by Mitsui (Adv. Biophys. 1999, 36, 107–158). A simple thermodynamic relationship is presented, which indicates that there is an inconsistency in the power stroke model or the swinging lever model. To avoid this difficulty, a new model is proposed. It is assumed that a myosin head forms a polaron-like complex with about three actin molecules when it attaches to an actin filament and the complex translates along the actin filament producing force. Various experimental data on the muscle contraction are well explained based upon the model.
