The impact of the addition of TiO2 nanoparticles and nanowires on the morphology, phase characteristics, contact angle, and electrochemical performance of chemically bonded phosphate ceramic coatings (CBPCs) was investigated. The chemical composition and surface morphology of the TiO2 nanoparticle and nanowire modified with and without (heptadecafluoro-1,1,2,2-tetradecyl) trimethoxysilane were characterized. Results indicated that the hydrophobic –CF2– and –CF3 groups were successfully introduced into the TiO2 nanoparticles and nanowires after modification. Corrosion resistance of CBPCs with TiO2 was evidently improved compared with that without TiO2. Such improvement was mainly due to the combined effects of low surface energy materials and micro/nano structures. In addition, CBPCs with TiO2 nanowires exhibited higher hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance than those with TiO2 nanoparticles because of the special columnar structure of the nanowires. 相似文献

This research aimed at studying the potential use of monoglyceride (MG) structured emulsions (MSEs) as delivery and protective systems for probiotic bacteria in Ricotta cheese. To this purpose, a low-fat commercial Ricotta cheese was added with MSEs formulated with milk, as water phase, and sunflower oil (MSE-SO) or anhydrous milk fat (MSE-AMF), as lipid phase. A commercial whole milk Ricotta cheese (W-RC) was considered as reference. A probiotic Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus strain was inoculated as free cells in W-RC or embedded into the MSEs and added to the low-fat Ricotta at the same reference fat content. After physico-chemical characterisation, L. rhamnosus viability and sample destructuring behaviour upon in vitro digestion were evaluated. At the end of in vitro digestion, both W-RC and sample containing MSE-SO were unable to protect cells. By contrast, sample with AMF ensured a sufficient probiotic viability, even after 14 days of storage at 4 °C. This result was attributed to system composition and structure. During the gastric phase, the presence of caseins and MG-AMF mixed structures induced the formation of clots, entrapping and protecting cells against the acidic pH of the stomach, as confirmed by confocal micrographs and particle size. During the intestinal phase, cell viability was guaranteed by the formation of mixed micelles promoted by MG. There are several methods for estimating bed shear stress in the literature, but comprehensive comparisons among them are limited and under specific conditions. This study compared these methods first on a bare smooth bed, and then for a single geobag on a rough bed in the interest of determining the stability of geobags used in riverbank protection structures. The geobag was filled with cement or sand and tested under different open channel flow conditions. The turbulent kinetic energy method appeared to best represent the local bed shear stress on the geobag when using the newly calibrated proportionality constants. The Reynolds stress method via extrapolation was relatively unaffected by changes to the geobags shape and measurement locations, suggesting this method inadequately represents the local bed shear stress. The Patel method and the universal law of the wall method failed to represent local bed shear stress in the rough bed cases due to instrument limitations and the breakdown of the law of the wall. This study highlights the impact of different methods on the bed shear stress estimation. 相似文献

Sm2O3-HfO2 series ceramics were synthesized at high temperature using the solid-state reaction. The phase stability, thermo-physical and infrared emission properties of Sm2Hf2O7 (SHO) and Sm2Hf2O7-44.83 wt%HfO2 (25S/H) composite ceramics were comparatively investigated. Furthermore, their calcium magnesium aluminosilicate (CMAS) corrosion was conducted at 1250°C for different times. The results reveal that both SHO and 25S/H ceramics have excellent phase stability at 1600°C as well as excellent sintering resistance. SHO still exhibits slightly lower thermal conductivity and lower hardness and Young's modulus, higher thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) and fracture toughness as well as higher infrared emittance (0.899 at 800°C) than 25S/H composite with the excessive HfO2 inside. Both SHO and 25S/H ceramics react with CMAS to form a relatively compact reaction layer, which can effectively prevent the penetration of CMAS. These results preliminarily indicate that SHO ceramic can be proposed as an alternative material of the traditional YSZ for high-temperature thermal protective applications thanks to its compatible performance of low thermal conductivity and high infrared radiation, etc. 相似文献

In this communication, the structural, micro-structural, dielectric, electrical, magnetic, and leakage-current characteristics of a double perovskite (Y2CoMnO6) ceramic material have been reported. The material was synthesized via a high-temperature mixed-oxide route. The compound crystallizes in a monoclinic structure which is confirmed from preliminary X-ray structural study. The morphological study by using scanning electron micrograph reveals the almost homogeneous distribution of grains throughout the surface of the sample. The nature of frequency-dependence of dielectric constant has been described by the Maxwell-Wagner model. The occurrence of a dielectric anomaly in the temperature dependence of dielectric permittivity study demonstrates the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition in the material. From the Nyquist plots, we found the existence of both grain and grain boundary effects. The frequency dependence of conductivity was studied by the Jonscher’s Power law, and the conduction phenomenon obeys the large overlapping polaron tunneling model. By using the Arrhenius equation, the activation energy has been calculated which is nearly equal to the energy required for the hoping of the electron. Both impedance and conductivity analysis demonstrate that the sample exhibits negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) properties indicating the semiconducting type of material at high temperatures. The anti-ferromagnetic character of the material is observed from the nature of magnetic hysteresis loop. The leakage current analysis suggests that the conduction process in the material follows the space charge limited conduction phenomenon. In this work, we developed a novel system of isovalent Zr4+ and donor Nb5+ co-doped CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) ceramics to enhance dielectric response. The influences of Zr4+ and Nb5+ co-substituting on the colossal dielectric response and relaxation behavior of the CCTO ceramics fabricated by a conventional solid-phase synthesis method were investigated methodically. Co-doping of Zr4+ and Nb5+ ions leads to a significant reduction in grain size for the CCTO ceramics sintered at 1060 °C for 10 h. XRD and Raman results of the CaCu3Ti3.8-xZrxNb0.2O12 (CCTZNO) ceramics show a cubic perovskite structure with space group Im-3. The first principle calculation result exhibits a better thermodynamic stability of the CCTO structure co-doped with Zr4+ and Nb5+ ions than that of single-doped with Zr4+ or Nb5+ ion. Interestingly, the CCTZNO ceramics exhibit greatly improved dielectric constant (~105) at a frequency range of 102–105 Hz and at a temperature range of 20–210 °C, indicating a giant dielectric response within broader frequency and temperature ranges. The dielectric properties of CCTZNO ceramics were analyzed from the viewpoints of defect-dipole effect and internal barrier layer capacitance (IBLC) model. Accordingly, the immensely enhanced dielectric response is primarily ascribed to the complex defect dipoles associated with oxygen vacancies by co-doping Zr4+ and Nb5+ ions into CCTO structure. In addition, the obvious dielectric relaxation behavior has been found in CCTZNO ceramics, and the relaxation process in middle frequency regions is attributed to the grain boundary response confirmed by complex impedance spectroscopy and electric modulus. 相似文献

The polycrystalline ceramic specimens of three different alumino-silicate solid solutions (Al0.70Si0.30O, Al0.73Si0.27O and Al0.75Si0.25O) consisting of different alumina and silica concentrations have been synthesized by thermal plasma sintering technique. From structural analysis carried out by X-ray diffraction, the ceramics are mostly found to consist of two different phases of mullite and sillimanite. SEM images of these ceramics reveal a high dense and less porous microstructure with homogeneous distribution of grains throughout their surface. These materials exhibit high dielectric constant value (>103) with low dissipation factor. The AC conductivity analysis reveals that Al0.70Si0.30O and Al0.75Si0.25O ceramics possess room temperature conductivity values of the order of 10?5, whereas Al0.73Si0.27O has conductivity of 10?7 order that increases with rise in temperature. From the Nyquist plots, the grain and grain boundary conductivities are distinguished and negative temperature coefficient of resistance behavior is identified in these ceramics with small positive temperature coefficient of resistance effect. 相似文献
