Some of the main applications of geosynthetics include use as a hydraulic barrier in sanitary landfills, as a reinforcement element and in pavement engineering. In most cases, these materials are subject to the overlapping effects of tensile strength and puncture. This paper presents a review of indirect methods for calculation of stress and strain averages by means of the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) puncture strength test. In addition, a new calculation method is proposed based on the Kirchhoff plate theory, which interprets the behavior of thin circular plates subjected to a uniform normal loading. This new method enables analysis of the stress-strain in each stretch of the geosynthetic. The methodology is applied to four woven geotextiles of different weights. The results of the new calculation method yielded a better stress-strain correlation with direct tensile strength tests, presenting the smallest relative errors compared to the other indirect calculations reviewed. With the aid of a disk and pins, vertical displacement values at different points in the geotextiles were measured and showed good agreement with analytical predictions. Therefore, the static puncture test combined with the new proposed calculation method is a good alternative for determining the stress-strain parameters of geotextile.  相似文献

A study on the liquefaction resistance of calcareous sands reinforced with polypropylene fibers was reported. Stress-controlled cyclic simple shear tests were conducted on specimens prepared at a relative density of 50%, with and without fiber reinforcements. The liquefaction behavior was investigated by considering the effects of fiber contents ranging from 0% to 1%, fiber lengths varying from 3 mm to 12 mm and loading patterns. The results indicated that increasing fiber content and fiber length resulted in a decrease in the deformation, a reduction in pore pressure accumulation rate, and improved the liquefaction resistance of calcareous sands. Additionally, the risk of soil liquefaction could be significantly reduced when the fiber content was greater than 0.8%. The multidirectional loading had a considerable effect in reducing the liquefaction resistance compared to unidirectional loading. Further, the stiffness degradation of calcareous sands decreased with increasing fiber content and fiber length. The pore pressure generated in the cyclic tests was analyzed and was found to be affected by fiber content. A pore pressure prediction model was proposed to obtain the pore pressure characteristics of fiber-reinforced calcareous sands under various fiber content conditions.  相似文献

In this study, a kind of Ni-based superalloy specially designed for additive manufacturing (AM) was investigated. Thermo-Calc simulation and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis were used to determine phases and their transformation temperature. Experimental specimens were prepared by laser metal deposition (LMD) and traditional casting method. Microstructure, phase constitution and mechanical properties of the alloy were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission scanning electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and tensile tests. The results show that this alloy contains two basic phases, γ/γ', in addition to these phases, at least two secondary phases may be present, such as MC carbides and Laves phases. Furthermore, the as-deposited alloy has finer dendrite, its mean primary dendrite arm space (PDAS) is about 30-45 μm, and the average size of γ' particles is 100-150 nm. However, the dendrite size of the as-cast alloy is much larger and its PDAS is 300-500 μm with secondary and even third dendrite arms. Correspondingly, the alloy displays different tensile behavior with different processing methods, and the as-deposited specimen shows better ultimate tensile stress (1,085.7±51.7 MPa), yield stress (697±19.5 MPa) and elongation (25.8%±2.2%) than that of the as-cast specimen. The differences in mechanical properties of the alloy are due to the different morphology and size of dendrites, γ', and Laves phase, and the segregation of elements, etc. Such important information would be helpful for alloy application as well as new alloy development.  相似文献

ASME标准钢板对于短时高温抗拉数据无规定,但设备设计人员在校核时又要用到此数据,于是有些设计文件在技术要求中将ASME II卷表U的数据作为材料验收的标准。针对此种做法引发的争议及涉及的主要问题进行试验验证和分析探讨。研究结果表明,ASME II卷D篇表U中的数据是基于室温抗拉强度保证值,并根据拟合曲线将室温保证值提高了10%得到的,实测数据与ASME规范数据不一致,部分材料在250~350℃存在动态应变时效现象,但仍不满足设计要求。材料经模拟焊后热处理后性能下降,难以到达交货态的要求。给出了短时高温抗拉强度的选用建议。  相似文献

The objective of this work is to understand the dynamics of cryptocurrency prices. Specifically, how prices switch between different regimes, going from “bull” to “stable” and “bear” times. For this purpose, we propose a hidden Markov model that aims at explaining the evolution of Bitcoin prices through different, unobserved states. The implementation of the proposed model includes a likelihood ratio test that allows to compare models with different states and with different covariance structures. Our empirical findings show that the time movements of Bitcoin prices across different exchange markets are well-described by the proposed model. In particular, a parsimonious model with a diagonal covariance matrix leads to better predictions, compared with a model with a full covariance matrix.  相似文献

Dynamic responses of the geosynthetic-encased stone column (GESC) supported embankment under traffic loads have become a hot topic. This study investigates the responses of GESC improved ground under vertical cyclic loading. A series of laboratory tests in a designed model test tank have been carried out with different loading parameters (varied loading amplitudes and frequencies), different column dimensions (varied encasement lengths and column diameters). In the tests, the soil-column stress distribution, accumulated settlement of loading plate, excess pore water pressure in the surrounding soil and lateral bulging of the stone column are monitored. Experimental results indicate that the vertical stress on the stone column increases with the increment of encasement length, and decreases with the increment of column diameter, loading amplitude and loading frequency. The increasing stress on the surrounding soil leads to a greater accumulated settlement of the loading plate and excess pore water pressure, while the increasing stress on the column leads to larger lateral bulging of the column. Excess pore water pressure dissipates effectively through vertical and horizontal drainage channels provided by the stone column and the sand bed. The geosynthetic encasement prevents the clay from obstructing the drainage channel by filtration and guarantees the drainage effect.  相似文献

The dynamical properties of spiraling elliptic breathers in nonlocal nonlinear media with linear anisotropy are analytically discussed. Using a two-dimensional asynchronous fractional Fourier transform, the exact analytical solutions of spiraling elliptic breathers are obtained to the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation with unequal diffraction coefficients in the highly nonlocal limit. It is found that the spiraling elliptic breathers exhibit a kind of molecule-like libration due to the combined effects of the linear anisotropy and the orbital angular momentum. The angular velocity of the spiraling elliptic breathers is discussed, which can be controlled by the linear anisotropy parameter. In the media with linear anisotropy such as uniaxial crystals, the angular velocity of the spiraling elliptic breathers can be controlled by changing the propagation directions of optical beams. Furthermore, the nonlinearity of media is found to enhance the rotation effect of spiraling elliptic breathers.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Study on dynamic tensile properties and atomic chain fabrication of single nanowire, for understanding its dynamic tensile properties and unique physical properties of atomic chain to fabricate atom scale devices, is one of frontier research issues in nano-scale science. However, how to assemble single nanowire on a tensible micro-structure becomes one of the most difficult problems, which severely restricts the development of this research field. In this paper, after the ultrahigh tensible microelectrode chip is fabricated by micro-electromechanical systems technology, hexamethyldisilazane is utilized to improve hydrophobicity of the chip, and then a micro-droplet dielectrophoresis experimental platform and technology is developed to assemble single nanowire on the sensible microelectrode. Experimental results show that accurate and efficient assembly of single Cu nanowire is realized, which contributes greatly to the further research of dynamic tensile properties and atomic chain fabrication. And for guiding the assembly experiments, finite element technology is also utilized to analyze the local micro electro-field around the microelctrodes during dieletrophoresis experiments.  相似文献

Solid solution-strengthened ductile iron (DI) exhibits outstanding mechanical properties due to the high silicon content. The strengthening by silicon addition is limited since additions above 4.3?wt-% lead to embrittlement. For a further improvement of mechanical properties, other alloying elements need to be considered. In the present work, the effect of various copper additions on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of solid solution-strengthened DI were investigated. The results show that no appreciable strengthening can be achieved by copper addition without the formation of pearlite in the matrix. The pearlite content increases considerably for Cu-additions above 0.23?wt-% and is independent of the cooling rate for the cooling conditions analysed.  相似文献

To measure geosynthetic reinforcement strains, sensor-enabled geobelts (SEGB) that perform the reinforcement and self-measurement functions were developed in this paper. The SEGB of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) filled with carbon black (CB) were fabricated by both the industry and the laboratory. To study the mechanical properties and tensoresistivity performance of the SEGB, in-isolation tests and in-soil tests were performed. Hot pyrocondensation pipes (HPP) were used to protect the SEGB against the influence of water. For the SEGB specimens developed in the laboratory, the optimal CB filler content was 47.5%. For the SEGB fabricated by the industry, the optimal CB content was slightly decreased compared to the SEGB fabricated in the laboratory. For the modified SEGB sealed with HPP, the strain at the fracture was improved, while its tensile stress and the frictional property of the geobelt-soil interfaces both decreased slightly. In the pull-out tests, the self-measurement function of the SEGB was proved to be effective for evaluating the deformation behavior of geosynthetic reinforcement. The results are helpful for further application of SEGB technology in engineering.  相似文献
