Competition forces manufacturing systems to be flexible and to increase product variety and process complexity. These tasks depend on the flexible design of a bill of materials (BOM), one of the most important inputs in manufacturing planning and control systems. Product variety forces systems to generate BOMs with regard to product properties through a BOM pattern. A variant bill of materials provides a structure to manage product variability. In this study, an algorithm is designed to build a BOM pattern using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) data, and another algorithm is designed to generate variants with regard to product specifications. Genetic algorithm is used to generate new products to provide high product variability for testing algorithms. After the test, both algorithms are applied to a real industry problem. The BOM pattern is built automatically using CAD/CAM data, and variants are generated with regard to the pattern, and the results are discussed. 相似文献

In order to solve the transformation problem of Bill of Materials (BOM) from engineering BOM to maintenance BOM for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) systems, a formal transformation model of BOM view is proposed. In this model, the intermediate component, inherited component, virtual component are defined in the specific maintenance management domain, and the transformation process from engineering BOM to maintenance BOM is discussed through feature recognition methods and rules. To solve the difficulty in describing the generic bill of material (GBOM) with the conventional tabular structure in a relational database system,a novel XML-based approach is presented to represent GBOM. It can represent and maintain one generic structure that encompasses all variants of a product. With the combination of product-oriented notation,this approach further gives a high degree of flexibility to support the user in the product variant specification task. In geometry, two configurations are called similar if they can be brought to a complete match by rigid motions and dilations. In the simplest case, product designs X and Y have the same dimensionality and same number of points which can be brought into a one to one correspondence by substantive considerations. Under orthogonal transformations, product design Y can only be rotated and reflected in order to approximate product design X. As for the “as close as possible” or “relatively close” criterion, a reasonable definition would be to measure the distances between corresponding points, square these values, and add them to obtain the sum-of-squares criterion L. In this paper, a product structure (BOM)-based product similarity measures using orthogonal procrustes approach is proposed. A structural product is first transformed into bill of materials (BOM), the structural similarity measurement between a product query and target product is calculated and evaluated using orthogonal procrustes approach. The results show that the proposed product structure similarity measure method can help companies find desired product information based on BOM feature. 相似文献
