The sensitivity of a monitoring scheme depends on many factors including the variance of the charting statistic which is very important in the computation of the control limits. This paper discusses the computation of the variance of the recently proposed hybrid homogeneously weighted moving average (HHWMA) X¯ scheme which was based on an incorrect assumption. The correct variance is used to evaluate the run-length characteristics of the HHWMA X¯ scheme. It is observed that the incorrect variance has a significant impact on the sensitivity (or performance) of the HHWMA X¯ scheme.  相似文献

A thermodynamic modeling of GaN was carried out to describe the thermodynamic behavior of native defects, dopants, and carriers (free electrons and holes) in GaN semiconductors. The compound energy model (CEM) was used. An unintentionally doped GaN was taken as an example. Oxygen was introduced into the model as the unintentionally doped impurity, according to the practical experimental phenomena. The energies of component compounds in the model were defined based on the results of the ab initio calculations and adjusted to fit experimental data. The thermodynamic properties of the defects and the oxygen doped were calculated to show the facility of the model.  相似文献

We propose an on-line learning algorithm for Multi Layered Perceptrons (MLP) with an Orthogonal Weight Estimator (OWE) architecture. Such an architecture allows to dynamically and efficiently estimate the weights of a MLP in context dependent behaviour problems. The proposed learning algorithm attempts to solve the problem of time-consuming in the learning phase encountered to train these weight estimators.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to develop sex-, age-, and body size-specific nomograms and partition values for upper and lower limits of M-mode echocardiographic aortic root measurements derived from a large population-based cohort. The study sample consisted of 1433 male and 1816 female participants in the Framingham Heart Study and Framingham Offspring Study who were normotensive and free of clinically apparent heart disease at the baseline examination. Aortic root measurements were obtained by M-mode echocardiography by a leading-edge to leading-edge technique. The relations of age and measures of body size with aortic root dimensions were evaluated with sex-specific correlations and multiple stepwise linear regression analyses. Age was the most important determinant of aortic root size in both men and women in the multivariable regression models. Models with age and body surface area yielded R2 values of 0.214 in men and 0.222 in women. Models with age and height yielded lower R2 values of 0.136 in men and 0.181 in women. Thus aortic root dimensions vary widely with the age, sex, and body size of individuals. Sex-specific reference nomograms of aortic root dimensions in relation to age and body size (body surface area or height) are presented to facilitate the detection of abnormalities of aortic root size.  相似文献

Reviews the predominant models developed by researchers to assess the psychological adaptation of immigrants in the host society. The use of the terms assimilation and acculturation to reflect the process of change undergone by immigrants is discussed. Although these terms have been used interchangeably, the outcome of change is very different in each. The difference between assimilation and acculturation is reflected in the models of adaptation regrouped under linear and bidimensional models. Different modes of activation are described for a postgrafting reaction of acrylic acid on poly(p-phenylene terephthalamid) (PPTA)mitrogen plasma or electron-beam irradiation. Both lead to surface radical formation, and these species are able to initiate grafting. The Functionalization through amino group attachment is characteristic of plasma treatment. Degradation initiated by UV-visible emission of plasma is noticed, leading to the amide clivage. The surface grafting is more important when the PPTA is irradiated with a cold plasma and if water is used as the solvent. The polymer crystallinity degree reduces the grafting of the electron beam-irradiated PPTA even with a high radical concentration. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In the course of a systematic study of binary transition metal alloys, the enthalpies of formation of five Hf-Ni compounds were measured by direct reaction calorimetry: Hf0.17Ni0.83(l/6HfNi5): ΔfH(1323 K) = − 37,000 J/mole of atoms (±3200) Hf0.22Ni0.781/9Hf2Ni7): Δf(1623 K) = −50,700 J/mole of atoms (±2000) Hf0.45Ni0.55(l/2OHf9Ni11): ΔfH(1473 K) = −54,500 J/mole of atoms (±2200) Hf0.50Ni0.50(l/2HfNi): ΔfH(1573 K) = −47,900 J/mole of atoms (±1800) Hf0.67Ni0.33(l/3Hf2Ni): ΔH(1423 K) = −36,700 J/mole of atoms (±1300) with reference to pure metals in their equilibrium states at the reaction temperatures. The Ni-rich Hf-Ni liquid was also studied by the dissolution of Hf in the liquid alloy of variable composition at 1743 and 1633 K. Results show that the enthalpy of formation of the liquid at a given composition depends strongly on temperature, and this point suggests the existence of associations in the liquid. The melting temperature of Hf0.22Ni0.78(Hf2Ni7) which was found (1705 K) is slightly lower than the one (1743 K) given in the literature. One major hindrance to effective implementation of cast gamma TiAl-based intermetallic alloys in aircraft engines lies in the variability of their mechanical properties resulting from chemical and microstructural heterogeneities. In the present work, the buildup of microsegregation in a cast Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy is investigated through experiments of quenching during directional solidification (QDS). The solidification process, as well as the partitioning of alloying elements, between the solid and liquid phases, is investigated. Considering experimental conditions, the α-hcp phase is found to be the primary solidifying phase. A low dendrite tip temperature of 1475 °C was estimated from thermal recordings. These observations could be explained considering the value of the thermal gradient (around 4 °C/mm). Quantitative values of partition coefficients are proposed for Al, Cr, and Nb. In addition to Al, Cr is found to segregate in interdendritic regions, whereas Nb tends to be retained in the Ti-rich inner dendrites. Considering experimental cumulative solute distributions, the buildup of microsegregation can be satisfactorily represented on the basis of Gulliver-Scheil assumptions. Due to high-temperature quenching, the QDS experiments are also found to be appropriate to the study of high-temperature phase transformations and microstructural development of TiAl-based alloys. The results of QDS experiments are discussed with regard to the range of microstructural and chemical heterogeneities determined within Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb investment castings. Finally, regarding solid-state phase transformations subsequent to solidification, the study attempts to explain the formation of B2 phase particles stabilized by the ternary additions.
