Multi-projector displays today are automatically registered, both geometrically and photometrically, using cameras. Existing registration techniques assume pre-calibrated projectors and cameras that are devoid of imperfections such as lens distortion. In practice, however, these devices are usually imperfect and uncalibrated. Registration of each of these devices is often more challenging than the multi-projector display registration itself. To make tiled projection-based displays accessible to a layman user we should allow the use of uncalibrated inexpensive devices that are prone to imperfections. In this paper, we make two important advances in this direction. First, we present a new geometric registration technique that can achieve geometric alignment {\em in the presence of severe projector lens distortion} using a relatively inexpensive low-resolution camera. This is achieved via a closed-form model that relates the projectors to cameras, in planar multi-projector displays, using rational Bezier patches. This enables us to geometrically calibrate a 3000 x 2500 resolution planar multi-projector display made of 3 x 3 array of nine severely distorted projectors using a low resolution (640 x 480) VGA camera. Second, we present a photometric self-calibration technique for a projector-camera pair. This allows us to photometrically calibrate the same display made of nine projectors using a photometrically uncalibrated camera. This paper evaluates moisture content effects on CO2 capture of an ion-exchange resin (IER) functionalised with a primary amine group. IER capacities were determined by breakthrough with an inlet gas containing 10 vol% CO2, nitrogen and various moisture contents. Three types of behaviour were identified according to humidity level. In saturated air conditions, the stoichiometry could be justified by carbonates and bicarbonates fixation. In dry conditions, we suspect a joint physical adsorption and reaction mechanism. For intermediate humidity, the stoichiometry of 1 CO2 for 1 amine group is consistent with a bicarbonate fixation or carbamic acid formation. 相似文献

Many individuals are not only food insecure but chronically exposed to high levels of mycotoxins through their diets in many developing countries. Seventy composite samples of stored maize grains were collected from farmers’ storage structures in five agro-ecological zones (AEZs) of Nigeria where maize is predominantly produced between August 2011 and February 2012. The grains were analysed for mycotoxin contamination with the liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method and mycotoxin occurrence maps constructed from the database of the distribution of the toxins. A risk assessment was also carried out in order to provide information on the extent of human exposure to the toxins. Twelve regulated mycotoxins with negative economic and public health consequences were detected in the maize grains across the AEZs at concentrations exceeding the maximum allowable limits including AFM1 that was detected for the first time in Nigerian maize. There is a high risk of contamination of the stored grains by Nigerian consumers especially in the Derived and Southern Guinea Savannas, resulting in a national burden of between 126.85 and 38,682.29 DALYs. Intervention strategies are therefore needed across the AEZs to ensure that safe and wholesome foods are made available to the populace. 相似文献

Kinetic and thermodynamic studies were carried out on the sorption of Cd2+ on three synthesised and characterised layered double hydroxides, namely: Ni-Co-Ti, Ni-Co-La and Mn-Ni-Al-CO3. Sorption kinetics were investigated through time-dependent studies. Thermodynamics were determined by the effect of temperature on adsorption. Kinetic modelling of the adsorption of Cd(II) ions on the LDHs was determined using the first-order, pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order and Elovich kinetic models, as well as additional diffusion models. The results showed that the pseudo-second-order model best correlated the adsorption data with R2 values of 1.000, 0.998 and 1.000 for NiCoTi, NiCoLa and MnNiAl-LDH respectively. Diffusion of the adsorbate was best correlated by the Weber-Morris intraparticle diffusion model with R2 values of 0.9753, 0.8472 and 0.9412 for NiCoTi, NiCoLa and MnNiAl-LDH respectively. Chitin nanofibers may be of interest as a component for nanocomposites. Composite nanofibers are therefore isolated from crab shells in order to characterize structure and analyze property potential. The mechanical properties of the porous nanopaper structures are much superior to regenerated chitin membranes. The nanofiber filtration‐processing route is much more environmentally friendly than for regenerated chitin. Minerals and extractives are removed using HCl and ethanol, respectively, followed by mild NaOH treatment and mechanical homogenization to maintain chitin–protein structure in the nanofibers produced. Atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) reveal the structure of chitin–protein composite nanofibers. The presence of protein is confirmed by colorimetric method. Porous nanopaper membranes are prepared by simple filtration in such a way that different nanofiber volume fractions are obtained: 43%, 52%, 68%, and 78%. Moisture sorption isotherms, structural properties, and mechanical properties of membranes are measured and analyzed. The current material is environmentally friendly, the techniques employed for both individualization and membrane preparation are simple and green, and the results are of interest for development of nanomaterials and biocomposites. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper presents guidelines for applying project management tools and techniques to the process of preparing for a program accreditation site visit. The premise of the paper is that the proven tools and techniques of project management are effective in managing all the steps required in accreditation preparation as well as postvisit followups. The basic lesson offered by the paper’s approach is that accreditation preparation should not be turned into a last-minute crash project. Rather, proactive preparation steps should be instituted early to facilitate communication, cooperation, and coordination of the entire process. The guidelines provided in the paper are useful not only for program review, but also for continuous process and curriculum improvement.
