Plastic-based multilayer packaging has an important function on the packaging market, but is currently not recyclable as the polymer layers used are usually thermodynamically immiscible. This work therefore follows the approach to prepare separable multilayer packaging using a packaging adhesive modified with thermally unstable adducts, and proposes a corresponding recycling process. For this purpose, typical multilayer structures (polyethylene (PE)// polyethylene terephtalate (PET), PET//aluminum, and PE//aluminum) were prepared by curing furan-/maleimide-functionalized polyurethane (PU)-prepolymers with a three-functional cross-linking agent. Adhesions of up to over 3N per 15 mm test specimen were measured or substrate failures of PET films were observed. However, heating in dimethylsulfoxide, the retro-Diels–Alder reaction takes place and the cross-linked adhesive turns thermoplastic and dissolves in the solvent. Thus, the laminate separates and the pure PE, PET, and aluminum foils can be recovered without any PU residue.  相似文献

Wax esters (WE) belong to the class of neutral lipids. They are formed by an esterification of a fatty alcohol and an activated fatty acid. Dependent on the chain length and desaturation degree of the fatty acid and the fatty alcohol moiety, WE can have diverse physicochemical properties. WE derived from monounsaturated long-chain acyl moieties are of industrial interest due to their very good lubrication properties. Whereas WE were obtained in the past from spermaceti organs of the sperm whale, industrial WE are nowadays mostly produced chemically from fossil fuels. In order to produce WE more sustainably, attempts to produce industrial WE in transgenic plants are steadily increasing. To achieve this, different combinations of WE producing enzymes are expressed in developing Arabidopsis thaliana or Camelina sativa seeds. Here we report the identification and characterization of a fifth wax synthase from the organism Marinobacter aquaeolei VT8, MaWSD5. It belongs to the class of bifunctional wax synthase/acyl-CoA:diacylglycerol O-acyltransferases (WSD). The protein was purified to homogeneity. In vivo and in vitro substrate analyses revealed that MaWSD5 is able to synthesize WE but no triacylglycerols. The protein produces WE from saturated and monounsaturated mid- and long-chain substrates. Arabidopsis thaliana seeds expressing a fatty acid reductase from Marinobacter aquaeolei VT8 and MaWSD5 produce WE. Main WE synthesized are 20:1/18:1 and 20:1/20:1. This makes MaWSD5 a suitable candidate for industrial WE production in planta.  相似文献

Phase-only adaptive nulling with a genetic algorithm   总被引:11,自引:0,他引:11  
This paper describes a new approach to adaptive phase-only nulling with phased arrays. A genetic algorithm adjusts some of the least significant bits of the beam steering phase shifters to minimize the total output power. Using small adaptive phase values results in minor deviations in the beam steering direction and small perturbations in the sidelobe level in addition to constraining the search space of the genetic algorithm. Various results are presented to show the advantages and limitations of this approach, in general, the genetic algorithm proves to be better than previous phase-only adaptive algorithms  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Cisplatin-based combination chemotherapy will cure 70% to 80% of patients with metastatic non-seminomatous germ cell tumors but is associated with the possibility of severe neuro-, oto- and nephro-toxicities. Carboplatin, a cisplatin analogue, is an active drug in testicular cancer with a more favourable spectrum of side effects. In a randomized trial, the German Testicular Cancer Study Group compared a combination regimen of carboplatin, etoposide and bleomycin (CEB) to standard cisplatin, etoposide and bleomycin (PEB) chemotherapy for patients with 'minimal-' and moderate-disease' non-seminomatous germ cell tumors, according to the Indiana University classification. PATIENTS AND METHODS: PEB was given for three cycles at standard doses (given days 1-5), and the CEB regimen consisted of carboplatin (target AUC of 5 mg/ml x min) on day 1, etoposide 120 mg/m2 on days 1 to 3 and bleomycin 30 mg on days 1, 8 and 15. Four cycles of CEB were given, with the omission of bleomycin in the fourth cycle. Thus, the cumulative doses of etoposide and bleomycin applied in the two treatment arms were comparable. Fifty-four patients were entered on the trial, 29 were treated with PEB and 25 with CEB chemotherapy. Patients were stratified according to disease extent (minimal versus moderate) and the degree of tumor marker elevation. Thirty-two patients (59%) belonged to the group with minimal disease and low markers. RESULTS: No significant difference in response to chemotherapy was seen between the two arms, with CR rates of 81% for the PEB arm and 76% for CEB treatment. However, more patients treated with CEB (32% versus 13%) have relapsed after therapy, and 4 patients (16%) have died of disease progression after CEP in contrast to 1 (3%) after PEB therapy. The first interim analysis of negative events (relapse, vital tumor at secondary resection, death from disease and therapy-associated death) showed a significantly higher rate after CEB than after PEB therapy, and the trial was terminated early. After a median follow-up of 33 months for all patients, the calculation of negative events is still significantly in favour of PEB-treated patient, particularly since three late relapses > 2 years have been observed in the CEB arm (P = 0.03). CONCLUSION: This randomized trial demonstrates that even with the use of adequate doses of etoposide and full-dose bleomycin, carboplatin cannot altogether replace cisplatin in patients with testicular cancer. Treatment with the PEB regimen remains the standard approach in patients with 'good-risk' non-seminomatous germ cell tumors.  相似文献

Summary Recently, the hypoelastic-idealplastic solid under simple shear has been studied. As an unexpected result, the slope of the stress-strain curve at the beginning of the plastic range turned out to be negative. While all other assumptions remained the same, this effect was recognized for all objective stress rates, which have been used for the hypoelastic constitutive law.The main objective of this paper is an interpretation of this remarkable result, where this interpretation should be given in an acceptable and rational form. The extent of resection in pilocytic astrocytoma of the posterior fossa often remains undefined and the indications for further treatment in incompletely resected tumours are a matter of debate. It has been also realized that the problem of hydrocephalus in patients with pilocytic astrocytoma of the posterior fossa has not yet been solved and the diagnostic impact of postoperative CT findings remains questionable. We retrospectively reviewed the data from 33 patients harbouring a pilocytic astrocytoma of the posterior fossa to evaluate the impact of surgical technique in terms of radicality and of postoperative imaging results upon prognosis and adjunctive treatment. In addition, the issue of hydrocephalus was considered and related to different treatment modalities. Thirty patients underwent surgical treatment whereas 3 had open biopsy of the tumour. Macroscopically gross total resection of the tumour was performed in 20 patients, whereas resection was partial in 10. Follow-up was obtained in 29 patients for a period which ranged between 2 and 184 months (85 months +/- 56 months). Outcome was good in 24 patients who had only slight neurological deficit and poor in 3 patients, who were severely disabled. Two patients died during the follow-up period. Recurrent tumour growth occurred in 2 cases with incompletely resected tumours. From the series presented, it was concluded that long-term follow-up with CT seems mandatory in cases with contrast-enhancing residual tumour. Recurrent tumour growth should be assumed in postsurgical patients with an enlarging area of enhancement shown in follow-up CT studies. Permanent ventriculoperitoneal shunting is required in certain patients with pre- or postoperative hydrocephalus.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

In this paper, we study the influence of innovator roles in highly innovative ventures. In order to obtain a differentiated picture we take into account the degree of innovativeness as a moderating variable. To test our hypotheses we use a sample of 146 highly innovative new product development projects. We choose a rigorous sampling design and apply state‐of‐the‐art measures for the degree of innovativeness. Furthermore, we apply multi‐trait‐multi‐method methodology (MTMM) to enhance the validity of our study. The results show that innovator roles have a strong influence on innovation success but these influences are positively and negatively moderated by innovativeness. The moderating influences depend on the type of innovativeness. Remarkably, with increasing technological innovativeness innovator roles which create inter‐organizational links with the outside world appear to be more important than intra‐organizational linker roles, and support from high‐ranked organizational members turns out to have a significant negative effect on project success with higher degrees of technological innovativeness. Possible explanations for these findings are discussed and consequences for innovation research and innovation management are shown.  相似文献
