Comparison measurements on reference standards are reported in which 13 partners with different instruments took part. A set of prototype standards which had been produced and calibrated within a European project were used for the measurements. PURPOSE: To quantify how frequently mesenteric adenitis clinically mimics appendicitis and to determine its appearance at computed tomography (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS: The medical records of 651 consecutive patients with an admission diagnosis of appendicitis were reviewed to determine how often mesenteric adenitis was the discharge diagnosis. The CT scans of a separate group of 18 patients with a discharge diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis were reviewed. These patients were part of a group of 100 consecutive patients prospectively evaluated with CT of the appendix for clinically suspected appendicitis. RESULTS: Fifty of 651 patients (7.7%) with an admission diagnosis of appendicitis had a discharge diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis. Mesenteric adenitis constituted 50 of the 252 (19.8%) discharge diagnoses other than appendicitis. All 18 CT scans of mesenteric adenitis showed three or more nodes that measured at least 5 mm in shortest axis clustered in the right lower quadrant, with a normal appendix identified. Eight patients had associated ileal or ileocecal wall thickening. CONCLUSION: Mesenteric adenitis is an important clinical mimic of appendicitis. It appears at CT as clustered, enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes with a normal appendix, and there may be associated ileitis or ileocolitis noted. 相似文献

The properties of GaAs Schottky barrier diodes as video detectors and mixing elements were investigated in the frequency range from 0.8–2.5 THz. For the most sensitive diode, the video responsivity and system noise temperature were measured as a function of incident laser power. The highest video responsivity was 2,000 V/W at 214μm and 60 V/W at 118μm. For five diodes differing in doping, capacitance, series resistance and anode diameter, the system noise temperature was measured at 214μm and 118μm. The best single sideband (SSB) values are 12,300 K and 24,200 K at 214μm and 118μm, respectively. The system noise temperature versus frequency is given over the range from 0.5–3 THz for two specific diodes demonstrating that the sharpness of the I–V characteristics is only of secondary importance for mixer perfomance at such high frequencies. 相似文献

Key to broad use of process management systems (PrMS) in practice is their ability to foster and ease the implementation,
execution, monitoring, and adaptation of business processes while still being able to ensure robust and error-free process
enactment. To meet these demands a variety of mechanisms has been developed to prevent errors at the structural level (e.g., deadlocks). In many application domains, however, processes often have to comply with business level rules and
policies (i.e., semantic constraints) as well. Hence, to ensure error-free executions at the semantic level, PrMS need certain control mechanisms for validating
and ensuring the compliance with semantic constraints. In this paper, we discuss fundamental requirements for a comprehensive
support of semantic constraints in PrMS. Moreover, we provide a survey on existing approaches and discuss to what extent they
are able to meet the requirements and which challenges still have to be tackled. In order to tackle the particular challenge
of providing integrated compliance support over the process lifecycle, we introduce the SeaFlows framework. The framework
introduces a behavioural level view on processes which serves a conceptual process representation for constraint specification
approaches. Further, it provides general compliance criteria for static compliance validation but also for dealing with process
changes. Altogether, the SeaFlows framework can serve as formal basis for realizing integrated support of semantic constraints

The hydroisomerization of two long-chain n-alkane mixtures was investigated over bifunctional Pt/H-ZSM-5 catalysts before and after dealumination of preshaped zeolite/binder pellets. The hydroisomerization over the dealuminated catalysts leads to more isomers and less cracking products. Consequently, higher ratios of multi- to mono-branched isomerization products are formed as expected for large- rather than medium-pore zeolites. This indicates a higher availability of space in the vicinity of the active sites and provides an attractive route to make medium-pore zeolites suitable for upgrading higher boiling hydrocarbon feeds. 相似文献

Solidus temperatures of the B2 NiAl phase have been determined by high-temperature differential thermal analysis for binary
melt compositions NixAl100−x
(45<x<57) and for ternary alloys FeyNi50−yAl50 (0≤y≤50). It was shown that the melting temperature of the stoichiometric Ni50Al50 phase is 1681 °C, which is 43 K higher than some literature data. The solidus line at the Ni-rich side of the Ni-Al phase
diagram exhibits a steeper slope than that reported previously. Substituting Fe for Ni, the decrease of solidus temperature
along the isoplethal section with 50 at.% Al of the ternary Ni-Fe-Al phase diagram exhibits a steep initial slope of −13 K/at.%

Max-SAT-CC is the following optimization problem: Given a formula in CNF and a bound k, find an assignment with at most k variables being set to true that maximizes the number of satisfied clauses among all such assignments. If each clause is restricted to have at most ? literals, we obtain the problem Max-?SAT-CC. Sviridenko [Algorithmica 30 (3) (2001) 398-405] designed a (1−e−1)-approximation algorithm for Max-SAT-CC. This result is tight unless P=NP [U. Feige, J. ACM 45 (4) (1998) 634-652]. Sviridenko asked if it is possible to achieve a better approximation ratio in the case of Max-?SAT-CC. We answer this question in the affirmative by presenting a randomized approximation algorithm whose approximation ratio is . To do this, we develop a general technique for adding a cardinality constraint to certain integer programs. To assist wayfinding and navigation, the display of maps and driving directions on mobile devices is nowadays commonplace. While existing system can naturally exploit GPS information to facilitate orientation, the inherently limited screen space is often perceived as a drawback compared to traditional street maps as it constrains the perception of contextual information. Moreover, occlusion issues add to this problem if the environment is shown from the popular egocentric perspective. In this paper we describe an interactive visualization system that addresses these problems by reallocating the available screen space. At the heart of our system are three novel visualization techniques: First, we propose a non‐standard perspective that allows to blend between the familiar pedestrian perspective and a standard map depiction with reduced occlusion. Second, we derive an efficient deformation technique that allows an interactive allocation of screen space to areas of interest like e.g. nearby touristic attractions. Finally, a path adaptive isometric perspective is proposed that reveals otherwise hidden facades in top‐down views. We describe efficient implementations of all techniques and exemplify our interactive system on real world urban models. 相似文献

A famous lower bound for the bilinear complexity of the multiplication in associative algebras is the Alder–Strassen bound. Algebras for which this bound is tight are called algebras of minimal rank. After 25 years of research, these algebras are now well understood. Here we start the investigation of the algebras for which the Alder–Strassen bound is off by one. As a first result, we completely characterize the semisimple algebras over R whose bilinear complexity is by one larger than the Alder–Strassen bound. Furthermore, we characterize all algebras A (with radical) of minimal rank plus one over R for which A/radA has minimal rank plus one. The other possibility is that A/radA has minimal rank.
