Approaches to the development of Russian conveyer roasting machines are outlined. As well as design improvements, the thermal
systems of machines in the range from OK-108 to OK-520 have been modified. Measures to increase productivity and reduce energy
consumption in pellet production are noted. Further development of the thermal system involves the introduction of a three-section
drying zone and gas-circulation systems, so as to maximize the utilization of the heat in the roasted pellets and exhaust
