Porous bony scaffolds are utilized to manage the growth and migration of cells from adjacent tissues to a defective position. In the current investigation, the effect of titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles on mechanical and physical properties of porous bony implants made of polymeric polycaprolactone (PCL) is studied. The bio-nanocomposite scaffolds are prepared with composition of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite (HA) and TiO2 powder using the freeze-drying technique for different weight fractions of TiO2 (0 wt%, 5 wt%, 10 wt%, and 15 wt%). In order to identify the microstructure and morphology of the fabricated porous bio-nanocomposites, the X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are employed. Also, the biocompatibility and biodegradability of the manufactured scaffolds are examined by placing them in a simulated body fluid (SBF) for 21 days, their weight and pH changes are measured. The rate of degradation of the PCL-HA scaffold can be controlled by varying the percentage of its constituent components. Due to an increasing growth and activity of bone cells and the apatite formation on the free surface of the fabricated bio-nanocomposite implants as well as their reasonable mechanical properties, they have the potential to be used as a bone substitute. Additionally, with the aid of the experimentally extracted mechanical properties of the scaffolds, the vibrational characteristics of a beam-type implant made of the proposed porous bio-nanocomposites are explored. The results obtained from SEM image indicate that the scaffolds produced by the employed method have high total porosity (70%–85%) and effective porosity. The pore size is obtained between 60 and 200 μm, which is desirable for the growth and propagation of bone cells. Also, it is revealed that the addition of TiO2 nanoparticles leads to reduce the rate of dissolution of the fabricated bio-nanocomposite scaffolds.  相似文献

An experimental study was performed to investigate the impact of low salinity water on wettability alteration in carbonate core samples from southern Iranian reservoirs by spontaneous imbibition. In this paper, the effect of temperature, salinity, permeability and connate water were investigated by comparing the produced hydrocarbon curves. Contact angle measurements were taken to confirm the alteration of surface wettability of porous media. Oil recovery was enhanced by increasing the dilution ratio of sea water, and there existed an optimum dilution ratio at which the highest oil recovery was achieved. In addition, temperature had a very significant impact on oil recovery from carbonate rocks. Furthermore, oil recovery from a spontaneous imbibition process was directly proportional to the permeability of the core samples. The presence of connate water saturation inside the porous media facilitated oil production significantly. Also, the oil recovery from porous media was highly dependent on ion repulsion/attraction activity of the rock surface which directly impacts on the wettability conditions. Finally, the highest ion attraction percentage was measured for sodium while there was no significant change in pH for all experiments.  相似文献

In the present research, the effects of continuous ultrasound treatment (100 W, 30 kHz; 0%, 30%, 60% and 90% amplitudes, 15 min) and fermentation process (37°C, 24 h) on the growth of Lactobacillus plantarum LP3 and LU5 strains and bioactive properties (peptide content, α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibition, anticancer and antioxidant activities and exopolysaccharide content) of goat milk were investigated. According to our results, the ultrasonication of milk up to 60% amplitude promoted the growth of Lactobacillus strains and enhanced the bioactive properties compared with control during fermentation, while, the ultrasonication at 90% amplitude had negative effects on the mentioned parameters. Exopolysaccharide content, α-amylase inhibition, α-glucosidase inhibition, antioxidant activity and anticancer activity of treated samples at 60% amplitude at the end of fermentation in comparison to its beginning were increased 18.09, 12.79, 12.44, 9.4 and 1.92 folds, respectively. Also, the increase of assayed characteristics was found strain-dependent, so that L. plantarum LP3 was more effective than LU5 strain.  相似文献

Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the world. The principal limitations thus far encountered in the clinical practice of probing cancer are diverse and include low sensitivity, time consumption, bulkiness, and cost. In this respect, nanomaterial (NM)‐based sensing techniques are recognized as a superior alternative to efficiently resolve such limitations. A better understanding of NM‐based sensing platforms is thus important so that these novel avenues can easily be explored for clinical applications. These platforms have the merits of high sensitivity, high specificity, rapid response, and easy‐to‐read signals. This review offers a comprehensive survey of NM‐based advanced cancer‐sensing techniques and will help the scientific community establish optimum sensing strategies based on an accurate assessment of the interactions between cancer biomarkers and NM‐based platforms.  相似文献

This article presents an adaptive neural compensation scheme for a class of large-scale time delay nonlinear systems in the presence of unknown dead zone, external disturbances, and actuator faults. In this article, the quadratic Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals are introduced to tackle the system delays. The unknown functions of the system are estimated by using radial basis function neural networks. Furthermore, a disturbance observer is developed to approximate the external disturbances. The proposed adaptive neural compensation control method is constructed by utilizing a backstepping technique. The boundedness of all the closed-loop signals is guaranteed via Lyapunov analysis and the tracking errors are proved to converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. Simulation results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.  相似文献

Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) and ochratoxin A (OTA) are two main mycotoxins in milk and dairy products. In the present work, the ability of four Lactobacillus strains (L. plantarum PTCC 1058, L. plantarum LP3, L. plantarum AF1 and L. plantarum LU5) to remove AFM1 and OTA in fermented cream was studied during 24 h fermentation. The antifungal activity of the mentioned lactobacilli against the defined fungi (Aspergillus flavus PTCC 5004, Aspergillus parasiticus PTCC 5018, Aspergillus nidulans PTCC 5014, Aspergillus ochraceus PTCC 5060) was also evaluated. The results showed that the cell counts of all strains were increased by 64–70% during fermentation. All Lactobacillus strains decreased the amount of AFM1 significantly (P ≤ 0.05) in the range of 26–52%, which the highest AFM1-reducing effect was related to L. plantarum LU5 (from 0.5 to 0.24 μg kg−1). The mean OTA removal by Lactobacillus strains in fermented cream also ranged from 32 to 58%. Amongst Lactobacillus strains, the cell-free culture supernatants of L. plantarum LU5 showed the highest (inhibition zone of 26.7 ± 1.2 mm) and L. plantarum LP3 and L. plantarum PTCC 1058 the lowest antifungal activities. The fermented creams contained Lactobacillus strains exhibited the highest and lowest antifungal activities against A. ochraceus and A. parasiticus, respectively. L. plantarum LU5, with the inhibition zone of 27.6 ± 0.9 mm, was the most effective fungal inhibitor, while L. plantarum PTCC 1058 had the lowest antifungal activity.  相似文献

The potential energy profile of the reaction between dimethyl disulfide and OH? radicals is explored by utilizing ab initio and hybrid meta density functional theory methods. Having the energies and structural data of the stationary points, statistical rate theories, such as transition state theory and variable reaction coordinate-transition state theory, are employed to compute the overall rate constants, and discuss the mechanism and product channels. On the basis of the calculations, the overall rate coefficient is predicted to be 2.49?×?10?10?cm3?molecule?1?s?1 at 298?K. It is found that in the most favorable pathway, the reaction proceeds via formation of the relatively unstable intermediate CH3S?(OH)SCH3 decomposing rapidly to yield CH3S?+CH3SOH.  相似文献

This study assessed the mechanisms and agents that have contributed to the formation and expansion of earth fissures along the route of the Haram-to-Haram Highway in Iran. To this end, several geological and geotechnical approaches were used, including comprehensive field investigations, in situ tests, soil sampling, and laboratory assessments. Results showed that a combination of shallow and deep mechanisms and various geoenvironmental agents contributed to fissure formation and expansion in the study area, with soil characteristics playing a significant part in the fissuring. This study indicated that earth fissuring is an ongoing problem in the study area that endangers the safety of highway traffic. However, some applicable remedial measures that could mitigate the problem and protect the highway from the adverse consequences of the earth fissuring are also proposed herein.  相似文献
