The intensification of interfacial mass, heat, and momentum transfer makes vortex chambers potentially interesting for the efficient drying of paddy, allowing shorter drying times and/or more compact equipment. The presence of a shell introduces particular challenges. Intraparticle diffusion limitations are strong and may reduce the advantage from intensified interfacial mass and heat transfer and the efficiency of air usage. Furthermore, high shear and normal stresses in the fast rotating particle bed may cause damage to the paddy shell, posing problems for transport and storage. With these specific aspects in mind, the use of vortex chambers for paddy drying is experimentally evaluated.  相似文献

Black teas manufactured in Darjeeling and Assam were analysed for various macrominerals such as P, K, Ca, Mg and microminerals such as Mn, Fe and Cu. A considerable amount of minerals, eg K (40-46 mg), Mg (2.7-3.0 mg), Ca (0.48-0.66 mg) and traces of Mn (0.28-0.40 mg), Fe (0.16-0.20 mg), P (29-41 μg) and Cu (12-22 μg) were found in a cup of black tea brew. Black teas manufactured from the leaf coming from a pruned section and fine portion usually showed higher mineral content than tea manufactured from unpruned sections and coarse grade teas of Darjeeling. Assam CTC tea was found to be richer in mineral content compared to Darjeeling orthodox tea.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of bismuth oxide films prepared by vacuum deposition have been studied in the frequency range 0.1–10 kHz and the temperature range 90–298.5 K. The capacitances Cp and Cs and the loss factor show dependences on the frequency, temperature and aging of the samples. The loss factor exhibits a flat maximum in its temperature variation curve at about 170 K. Interfacial polarization, which is caused by the excess bismuth and by various defects and impurities, is thought to be the main relaxation mechanism operating in the low frequency region.  相似文献

Successful food hygiene training and the consent of safe food handling practices learnt during training are critical elements in the control of food-borne illnesses throughout the world. It is true for food handlers and vendors belonging to all sectors. But, it is all the more urgent for street vendors because they are more exposed to environmental hazards and are predominantly from much weaker socio-economic backgrounds and yet cater to the general mass. Using a cross-sectional study design a sample of 80 street food vendors were selected and provided with training to evaluate the existing Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) regarding food safety and hygiene and the change of the same after training interventions. Responses regarding KAP on food safety and hygiene before and after training revealed that there was a significant change in their perception to food safety knowledge and also practices. The knowledge level of the food vendors increased from an average 24.35%–66.2% after training interventions. The overall performance rating of full adoption of good hygiene practices by the vendors ranged from 37.5% to 50.8% in post-training period.  相似文献

The present overview is based on recent available information on nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) from various parts of the world including India. The available data suggests that NPC is a rare tumour in most parts of the world. But the incidence is higher in China and South East Asia and also among the Chinese wherever they have migrated. NPC is also relatively higher especially among the mongoloid group of the people in the North Eastern Region of India as compared to other parts of the country. The distinct geographical and ethnic distribution of NPC have stimulated much research to find out its etiology. The results suggest that Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) infection and genetic susceptibility are the constant aetiological factors for the higher incidence of NPC among various ethnic groups while other factors such as ingestants and inhalants may depend on the distinct dietary practices and living environment adopted by various ethnic groups in different geographical region of the world.  相似文献

Two cases from a Muslim family in upper Assam were found to pass trematode eggs morphologically similar to the members of the family Heterophyidae Odhner, 1914. The eggs characteristically yellowish brown in colour, ovoid, have a thick shell and are operculate. They measured 31.5 +/- 2.0 um SD x 22.4 +/- 1.9 um SD with well developed miracidium. The Marangoni flow is involved with microgravity and earth gravity, which causes undesirable effects in crystal growth experiments. Crystal growth experiments were designed in such a manner so as to appraise MIR (space station), which is one of the best platforms for protein crystallization and radiation experiments. In this article, a model is proposed with a stagnation point and a Casson fluid flow at the interface of the plate in the presence of Marangoni convection influenced by a magnetic field and chemical reaction. Furthermore, it is considered that both temperature and concentration surface tension vary linearly with the interface. It is important to choose similarity transformations for implementing nonlinear differential equations into linear ordinary differential equations. We solved the system of differential equations using fourth order Range‐Kutta method with suitable shooting techniques, and the results are displayed through graphs. A comparison is made with the earlier existing literature, and it shows a very good agreement. The results and a detailed discussion of velocity, temperature, and concentration have been shown graphically. The favorable and unfavorable buoyancy force to Marangoni flow, the features of temperature and concentration field, have been investigated.  相似文献

This work aimed to investigate the boundary design problem for uniform thermal conditions, when multiple three-dimensional (3-D) design objects (DOs) are placed inside the radiant furnace, and to explore the suitable configuration of DOs located inside the radiant furnace. Also the objective includes ascertaining the limit of maximum numbers of DOs that can be accommodated to get the uniform thermal conditions. To accomplish this task, 19 cases are evaluated, consisting of the different number of DOs with various configurations, located on the bottom surface of the furnace enclosure. Each case is treated as an inverse boundary design problem separately. The radiative information is calculated using the radiation element method by ray emission model (REM2). The microgenetic algorithm (MGA) is used as an optimization tool. The specularity effect of the surfaces of heaters, of surfaces of radiant enclosure, and of the DOs is taken into account. The suitability of the configuration of DOs is shown by comparing the estimated heat flux distribution on DOs. The effect of different heater power ranges on the uniformity of the heat flux distribution on DOs is discussed. With a sample case, the optimal heater power setting that produces the desired uniform thermal conditions on DOs is also given. In the present boundary design problems, to obtain the uniform thermal conditions, a pronounced effect of the configuration of DOs and the numbers of DOs is observed.  相似文献

In this paper, multiscale principal component analysis (MSPCA) is proposed for multichannel electrocardiogram (MECG) data compression. In wavelet domain, principal components analysis (PCA) of multiscale multivariate matrices of multichannel signals helps reduce dimension and remove redundant information present in signals. The selection of principal components (PCs) is based on average fractional energy contribution of eigenvalue in a data matrix. Multichannel compression is implemented using uniform quantizer and entropy coding of PCA coefficients. The compressed signal quality is evaluated quantitatively using percentage root mean square difference (PRD), and wavelet energy-based diagnostic distortion (WEDD) measures. Using dataset from CSE multilead measurement library, multichannel compression ratio of 5.98:1 is found with PRD value 2.09% and the lowest WEDD value of 4.19%. Based on, gold standard subjective quality measure, the lowest mean opinion score error value of 5.56% is found.  相似文献
