A modified electroless metal deposition method has been developed for copper plating of polystyrene (PS) surfaces. The modified procedure avoids the plasma conditioning and surface activation steps in the classical electroless metal plating process.First step of the present procedure is chlorosulfonation of PS surface by soaking into chlorosulfonic acid, yielding chlorosulfonated surface with density of 0.046-0.110 mmolcm− 2 depending on contact time (10-60 min).In the second step chlorosulfone groups on the surface are converted to sulfonyl hydrazides almost quantitatively by reaction with hydrazine solution (80%). Green Cu (II)-sulfonylhydrazide complex is formed at the surface, in the third step, by interaction with ammoniacle Cu (II) solution at room temperature. The copper in the complex is reduced rapidly in the fourth step, by immersing the specimen into 5% of hydrazine solution. The elemental copper deposited onto the surface serves activating sites to accumulate more (5-7 mg per cm2) elemental copper from electroless copper solutions in the final step. The present method avoids the surface activation with palladium and allows preparing copper patterns with reasonably high pull-off strengths (3.77 Nmm− 2) on PS panels.In the study the copper deposition has been investigated using standard analytical procedures, X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) and Scanning Electron Microscopy.  相似文献

Summary A catalytic process for synthesis of new polyesters with methacrylate pendant groups is presented. Thus, zinc succinate catalyzed reaction of succinic anhydride with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) in dimethoxyethane gives linear oligoesters with low molecular weights (1380-2400 Da). The polyester formation takes place via simultaneous ring opening of the cyclic anhydride and oxirane units. GMA component can be partially replaced with cyclohexeneoxide to obtain polyesters with methacrylate pendant groups in various percentages. Nearly colorless waxy polymers are obtained in excellent yields (69–97%) within 48–60 h. at 90 °C. In the study structure of the polymers have been elucidated by conventional spectroscopic techniques and photo-crosslinking of ability of their thin films have been tested by monitoring intensity of methacrylate double bonds, using IR-spectrometry methodology.  相似文献

A simple, precise, accurate, and validated reverse-phase HPLC method was developed for the determination of melamine in milk (pasteurized and UHT milk) and dairy products (powdered infant formula, fruit yogurt, soft cheese, and milk powder). Following extraction with acetonitrile:water (50:50, vol/vol), samples were purified by filter (0.45 μm), separated on a Nucleosil C8 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 3 μm) with acetonitrile:10 mmol/L sodium L-octane sulfonate (pH 3.1; 15:85, vol/vol) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1 mL/min, and determined by a photodiode array detector. A linear calibration curve was obtained in the concentration range from 0.05 to 5 mg/kg. Milk and dairy products were fortified with melamine at 4 levels producing average recovery yields of 95 to 109%. The limits of detection and quantification of melamine were 35 to 110 and 105 to 340 μg/kg, respectively. The method was then used to analyze 300 samples of milk and dairy products purchased from major retailers in Turkey. Melamine was not found in infant formulas and pasteurized UHT milk, whereas 2% of cheese, 8% of milk powder, and 44% of yogurt samples contained melamine at the 121, 694±146, and 294±98 μg/kg levels, respectively. These findings were below the limits set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission and European Union legislation. This is the first study to confirm the existence of melamine in milk and dairy products in Turkey. Consumption of foods containing these low levels of melamine does not constitute a health risk for consumers.  相似文献

There are many parameters that may affect the navigation behaviour of web users. Prediction of the potential next page that may be visited by the web user is important, since this information can be used for prefetching or personalization of the page for that user. One of the successful methods for the determination of the next web page is to construct behaviour models of the users by clustering. The success of clustering is highly correlated with the similarity measure that is used for calculating the similarity among navigation sequences. This work proposes a new approach for determining the next web page by extending the standard clustering with the content-based semantic similarity method. Semantics of web-pages are represented as sets of concepts, and thus, user session are modelled as sequence of sets. As a result, session similarity is defined as an alignment of two sequences of sets. The success of the proposed method has been shown through applying it on real life web log data.  相似文献

Detection of events using voluntarily generated content in microblogs has been the objective of numerous recent studies. One essential challenge tackled in these studies is estimating the locations of events. In this paper, we review the state-of-the-art location estimation techniques used in the localization of events detected in microblogs, particularly in Twitter, which is one of the most popular microblogging platforms worldwide. We analyze these techniques with respect to the targeted event type, granularity of estimated locations, location-related features selected as sources of spatial evidence, and the method used to make aggregate decisions based on the extracted evidence. We discuss the strengths and advantages of alternative solutions to various problems related to location estimation, as well as their preconditions and limitations. We examine the most widely used evaluation methods to analyze the accuracy of estimations and present the results reported in the literature. We also discuss our findings and highlight important research challenges that may need further attention.  相似文献

The effects of silver (Ag), selenium (Se), and chitosan (Cht) additives on the antibacterial activity and cell viability of NiTi were investigated. Three different hydroxyapatite (HA)-based bioceramic coatings to improve the antibacterial activity and cell viability of NiTi; HA, HA/Ag, and HA/Se–Cht were applied to NiTi substrates by a sol–gel method. The coated samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy–electron-dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction and surface hardnesses were measured. The antimicrobial efficiency of the coatings and uncoated surfaces were tested against Escherichia coli-JM 103 and Staphylococcus aureus-ATCC29293. In vitro cell–material interactions using Saos-2 osteoblast cells were characterized by a 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (mitochondrial activity test) assay for cell viability. A homogeneous, crack-free, and porous surface morphology is achieved in coatings. It has been shown that the Se–Cht additives did not have a significant effect on the surface hardness of the HA coating, but the Ag additive increased the hardness. Through in vitro antibacterial activity and cell viability tests, it was shown that Ag additive to bioceramic coatings significantly increased (< .05) antibacterial properties but caused a decrease in cell viability. However, although Se–Cht additives did not have a significant effect on antibacterial properties (< .05), it was observed that they increased cell viability.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: As a first step towards genetic improvement of seed quality in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), seven desi and nine kabuli varieties were grown at multiple sites to assess the affect of environment on seed yield, weight and selected seed constituents. The sites were chosen to represent a range of environments in chickpea production areas of the Canadian prairies. RESULTS: Genotype × environment interaction effects on starch, amylose and protein (desi only) concentrations and seed yield were significant, suggesting that the varieties did not perform consistently relative to each other in the different environments. Starch concentration was negatively correlated (rkabuli = ?0.25, P < 0.05; rdesi = ?0.16, P < 0.05) with protein concentration in both chickpea market classes. However, repeatability estimates of starch, amylose and protein concentrations were low and inconsistent across chickpea market classes, possibly owing to complex biosynthetic pathways for these constituents. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that testing for seed constituent traits over a range of environments will be required to improve seed quality in individual chickpea varieties. The best selection strategies for seed constituent improvement in chickpea will be influenced by genotype and genotype × environment interaction for these traits. The negative relationship between seed constituents and yield indicates that selection for chickpea cultivars with desired seed composition may require compromise and indirect selection.
