Improving the shape and flatness of hot-rolled strip by means of profil 2500 software

The formation of strip profile and flatness on a 2500 hot-rolling mill is analyzed. Profil 2500 software is created to support the shaping of the working rollers in the finishing cells, taking account of the current state of the supporting rollers. This software is used at OAO MMK in roller preparation.

At OAO MMK, a new production technology has been developed for cold-rolled steel sheet with regulated surface roughness, used in the auto industry. This technology relies on regulation of the tension in the cold-rolling mills, a special textured barrel surface of the working rollers, new roller profiles, and the use of a wetting liquid in the temper mill.
