In aerospace industry, one of the most important parts of gliders and motor-gliders is a lightweight longeron reinforcement made of carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) rods, known as Graphlite SM315 composite. During manufacturing, the rods as constructional elements are glued together in epoxy-filled matrix in order to build the arbitrary spar profile. The defects present in single rods such as breakage of fibres, multiple delaminations due to the lack of bonding between fibres and reduction in density affect essentially the strength and the fail-safety of the overall construction.The aim of the present work is to investigate the effects (transmission, reflection, scattering and mode conversion) of guided waves propagation along a square-shape CFRP rod in the case of contactless excitation/reception and interaction with region of multiple delaminations applying the numerical model and performing experiments.The square-shape CFRP composite rods possessing internal artificial delamination type defects have been investigated by numerical modelling and experiments employing the developed air-coupled technique (pitch-catch set-up) for cases of conventional transmission and advanced back-scattering configurations. Numerical predictions of guided wave interaction with a multiple delamination type defect in a CFRP composite rod have been made and the interaction mechanism explained. It is possible to conclude, that the actual sizes of the internal defects have been clearly detected using reception of the back-scattered waves over the edges of the defective regions only.  相似文献

Small hydropower plants (installed power below 10 MW) are generally considered less impacting than larger plants, and this has stimulated their rapid spread, with a developing potential that is not exhausted yet. However, since they can cause environmental impacts, especially in case of cascade installations, there is the need to operate them in a more sustainable way, e.g. considering ecosystem needs and by developing low-impacting technologies. In this paper, an assessment was conducted to estimate how the environmental flow and the plant spatial density affect the small hydropower potential (considering run-of-river schemes, diversion type, DROR) in the European Union. The potential of DROR is 79 TWh/y under the strictest environmental constraints considered, and 1,710 TWh/y under the laxest constraints. The potential of low-impacting micro technologies (< 100 kW) was also assessed, showing that the economic potential of hydrokinetic turbines in rivers is 1.2 TWh/y, that of water wheels in old mills is 1.6 TWh/y, and the hydropower potential of water and wastewater networks is 3.1 TWh/y, at an average investment cost of 5,000 €/kW.

This paper presents a robust nonlinear control law that combines a parametric uncertainty of the single one-degree-of-freedom active magnetic bearing (AMB) system with disturbance. The robust nonlinear feedback tool such as control Lyapunov function (CLF) and robust stability techniques are developed. The control objective is to globally stabilise the mass position of an AMB with flux feedback. The flux-based control model for an AMB system is derived due to voltage switching strategy with voltage saturation. This strategy enables the flux control under a zero-bias or low-bias flux operation. In the zero-bias control, only one electromagnet in each axis of the AMB is active at any given time, depending on the rotor displacement. The proposed robust nonlinear CLF with a zero-bias for an uncertain AMB system can achieve a dynamic performance superior to that of a linear controller with the zero-bias or with the classical bias operations.  相似文献

The closure of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, impact of recent global recession of the economy, as well as changes and problems posed by the global climate change require significant alterations in the Lithuanian energy sector development. This paper describes the current status and specific features of the Lithuanian power system, and in particular discusses the role of the distributed generators. Country's energy policy during last two decades was focused on substantial modernisation of the energy systems, their reorganisation and creation of appropriate institutional structure and necessary legal basis. The most important factors stimulating development of distributed generation in Lithuania are the following: international obligations to increase contribution of power plants using renewable energy sources into electricity production balance; development of small (with capacity less than 50 MW) cogeneration power plants; implementation of energy policy directed to promotion of renewable energy sources and cogeneration. Analysis of the legal and economic environment, as well as principles of regulation of distributed generation and barriers to its development is presented.  相似文献

We study classical strongly correlated few-particle systems in two-dimensional traps. Strong interaction between the particles leads to formation of ordered structure (the Wigner crystal), and the precise configuration of particles is determined by the shape of the confinement. Structural transitions in systems of four to seven particles induced by compression of the confining trap in one of two lateral directions are modeled numerically using the statistical Monte Carlo technique and distributed (grid) computing. We focus on the dependence of the specific heat on the eccentricity of the confinement, and show that rapid variations of the specific heat can be used to detect and classify changes of system configuration. These structural transitions are the finite-size analogues of phase transitions commonly defined for infinite systems.  相似文献

In order to maintain the integrity of a nuclear power plant containment and effectively manage a severe accident, it is necessary to understand phenomena occurring in the atmosphere of the nuclear power plant containment during the accident. A number of containment atmosphere mixing experiments have been performed in the dedicated experimental facilities, followed by the numerical simulations using lumped-parameter and computational fluid dynamics codes. This paper presents the THAI+ test facility experiment TH27 post-benchmark simulations performed with the lumped-parameter code ASTEC. The experiment TH27 was an initial operation test of the THAI+ facility, which has been recently constructed by expanding the experimental facility THAI with the newly constructed parallel attachable drum vessel. The experiment featured steam and helium injections and transport and mixing of gasses and steam between the two vessels, as well as wall heating and cooling of different vessels. The TH27 experiment was performed together with an international multistage benchmark, consisting of double-blind, blind, and open phases. The developed nodalization scheme and the features of the calculation are presented in the paper. The results of the calculations are compared to the experimental values for the main containment parameters – pressure, gas and wall temperatures, helium concentrations.  相似文献

Abstract:   The design of infrastructure systems for "accidental" situations, i.e., abnormal service conditions, may include a comparison of alternative design solutions of system components. These solutions are compared by means of applying a universal methodology known as a multiattribute selection (MAS). The alternative designs are described by a number of attributes that characterize each of them. Failure probability and quantitative measure of the risk are used as safety-related attributes of the alternative designs. This article shows how to carry out the MAS in the presence of epistemic uncertainties in safety-related attributes. Distributions of epistemic uncertainties are specified by means of methods used for quantitative risk assessment. The MAS is carried out as a propagation of these uncertainties. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to propagate uncertainties through the algorithm of MAS. The approach proposed in this article is illustrated by two examples, which consider alternative designs of a protective barrier and alternative sprinkler systems.  相似文献

Application of reinforced concrete (RC) poles as overhead electrical transmission line supports has become of great interest during recent years worldwide. The higher strength, longer life, and the potential to span longer distances than steel poles are the key reasons behind this tendency. A great variety of architectural shapes, relatively low maintenance costs, and high electrical resistance make RC a prominent alternative to steel. The drawbacks related to the application of RC poles include the high self-weight and vulnerability to damage. Self-weight might be reduced by prestressing the reinforcement and/or forming a tubular structure for the poles. However, both of these options might increase the vulnerability of the supports. Moreover, long-term processes (deterioration of concrete and corrosion of steel reinforcement) complicate the prediction of structural properties. This paper presents results of the everlasting inspection of the overhead electric power distribution system in Lithuania: technical state of more than 500 RC supports was assessed; selected poles were tested until failure. A specific point of this research is that most of the inspected supports were under maintenance since the middle of last century. The inspection results were used for developing the technical condition of RC pole evaluation scale proposed in this paper.  相似文献

Tris and CHAPS–urea extracts from wild and farmed cod muscle and from rehydrated cod klipfish fillets were analyzed by one (1DE) and two-dimensional electrophoresis (2DE). 2DE maps of tris extracts from farmed cod differed from the wild in a series of spots of Mw 35 and 45 kDa. The CHAPS–urea extracts from farmed cod had a several spots of Mw between 100 and 45 kDa, which were hardly detectable in wild cod and very prominent in klipfish. Klipfish was clearly different from the other samples: the myosin heavy chain was hardly detectable in these samples, and the tris extracts contained fewer, and the CHAPS–urea more spots than the corresponding extracts from the raw muscles. Further identification of these potentially diagnostic spots will make it easier the differentiation of farmed from wild cod and the evaluation of klipfish processing on the protein content of the product.  相似文献
