Crystallization of calcium carbonate (CC) in aqueous solutions by gas‐liquid diffusion procedure was investigated systematically in the presence of poly(4‐sulfonic acid diphenylamine)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol) (PSDA‐b‐PEG), wherein the PSDA block is a polymeric zwitterion. PSDA‐b‐PEG was synthesized with the reaction of tosylated PEG and amine‐functionalized PSDA and was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance. The parameters such as, block copolymer concentration, crystallization time and initial pH were considered as indicators of block copolymer's capability in controlling the morphology of CC particles. The particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, and X‐ray diffraction. The results suggest that PSDA‐b‐PEG is a suitable template to control the growth mechanism of CC to produce meso‐sized particles with different morphologies. POLYM. ENG. The development of deregulation and demand for high-quality electrical energy has lead to a new requirement in different fields of power systems. In the protection field, this means that high sensitivity and fast operation during the fault are required while maltripping of relay protection is not acceptable. One case that may lead to a maltrip of the high-sensitive overcurrent relay is the starting current of the induction motor or inrush current of the transformer. This transient current has the potential to affect the correct operation of protection relays close to the component being switched. In the case of switching events, such transients must not lead to overcurrent relay operation; therefore, a reliable and secure relay response becomes a critical matter. Meanwhile, proper techniques must be used to prevent maltripping of such relays, due to transient currents in the network. In this paper, the optimal Bayes classifier is utilized to develop a method for discriminating the fault from nonfault events. The proposed method has been designed based on extracting the modal parameters of the current waveform using the Prony method. By feeding the fundamental frequency damping and ratio of the 2nd harmonic amplitude over the fundamental harmonic amplitude to the classifier, the fault case is discriminated from the switching case. The suitable performance of this algorithm is demonstrated by simulation of different faults and switching conditions on a power system using PSCAD/EMTDC software. 相似文献

This research aims to study the effect of ammonium polyphosphate and expandable graphite on the intumescent coating formulations (ICF). The coating presented in this research article is based on carbon source expandable graphite (EG), blowing agent melamine, acid source ammonium polyphosphate (APP), epoxy resin as a binder with polyamide amine. The stability of the developed coating was verified at 950°C for 1-hour fire test. The results showed that the coating is stable and well bond with the steel substrate. The char was characterized by using FESEM, XRD, FTIR, DTA, TGA, XPS, Py-GCMS and Weathering Test. The morphology of the char was studied by SEM of the coating after furnace fire test. XRD and FTIR show the presence of graphite, borophosphate; boron oxide and sassolite in the residual char. TGA and DTG disclosed that EG improved the residual mass of coating. XPS analysis showed the char residue of IF5-APP-EG contains carbon and oxygen contents 47.50 and 40.70, respectively. Py-GCMS analysis described that the IF5-APP-EG released less gaseous compounds. The weathering test illustrated that's the char expansion of coatings samples was decreased due to the presence of a humid environment and UV light. The IF5-APP-EG showed the maximum char expansion, lower substrate temperature and high residual weight among the studied formulations. 相似文献

Thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) can regulate line impedance and therefore increase transferred power of the system. On the other hand power system stabilizer (PSS) increases dynamic stability of generator. To enhance the stability, combination of TCSC and PSS can be applied, and in such a case coordination of TCSC and PSS is essential. This paper applies this combined controller in order to enhance the stability of multi-machine system. Parameters of these controllers are optimized by velocity update relaxation particle swarm optimization (VURPSO) algorithm and Genetic algorithm (GA). The simulation results show that the combination of VURPSO algorithm and GA leads to a better design and stability. 相似文献

A microarray machine offers the capacity to measure the expression levels of thousands of genes simultaneously. It is used
to collect information from tissue and cell samples regarding gene expression differences that could be useful for cancer
classification. However, the urgent problems in the use of gene expression data are the availability of a huge number of genes
relative to the small number of available samples, and the fact that many of the genes are not relevant to the classification.
It has been shown that selecting a small subset of genes can lead to improved accuracy in the classification. Hence, this
paper proposes a solution to the problems by using a multiobjective strategy in a genetic algorithm. This approach was tried
on two benchmark gene expression data sets. It obtained encouraging results on those data sets as compared with an approach
that used a single-objective strategy in a genetic algorithm.

Gene expression technology, namely microarrays, offers the ability to measure the expression levels of thousands of genes
simultaneously in biological organisms. Microarray data are expected to be of significant help in the development of an efficient
cancer diagnosis and classification platform. A major problem in these data is that the number of genes greatly exceeds the
number of tissue samples. These data also have noisy genes. It has been shown in literature reviews that selecting a small
subset of informative genes can lead to improved classification accuracy. Therefore, this paper aims to select a small subset
of informative genes that are most relevant for cancer classification. To achieve this aim, an approach using two hybrid methods
has been proposed. This approach is assessed and evaluated on two well-known microarray data sets, showing competitive results.

This study is the first to investigate the antileishmanial activities of Nigella sativa oil (NSO) entrapped poly‐ɛ ‐caprolactone (PCL) nanoparticles on Leishmania infantum promastigotes and amastigotes in vitro. NSO molecules with variable initial doses of 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg were successfully encapsulated into PCL nanoparticles identified as formulations NSO1, NSO2, NSO3, and NSO4, respectively. This process was characterised by scanning electron microscope, dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared, encapsulation efficiency measurements, and release profile evaluations. The resulting synthetised nanoparticles had sizes ranging between 200 and 390 nm. PCL nanoparticles encapsulated 98% to 80% of initial doses of NSO and after incubation released approximately 85% of entrapped oil molecules after 288 h. All investigated formulations demonstrated strong antileishmanial effects on L. infantum promastigotes by inhibiting up to 90% of parasites after 192 h. The tested formulations decreased infection indexes of macrophages in a range between 2.4‐ and 4.1‐fold in contrast to control, thus indicating the strong anti‐amastigote activities of NSO encapsulated PCL nanoparticles. Furthermore, NSO‐loaded PCL nanoparticles showed immunomodulatory effects by increasing produced nitric oxide amounts within macrophages by 2–3.5‐fold in contrast to use of free oil. The obtained data showed significant antileishmanial effects of NSO encapsulated PCL nanoparticles on L. infantum promastigotes and amastigotes.Inspec keywords: antibacterial activity, drug delivery systems, nanofabrication, nitrogen compounds, nanomedicine, microorganisms, cellular biophysics, diseases, scanning electron microscopy, oils, polymers, biomedical materials, nanoparticles, encapsulation, Fourier transform infrared spectraOther keywords: encapsulation efficiency measurements, entrapped oil molecules, investigated formulations, NSO‐loaded PCL nanoparticles, Nigella sativa oil entrapped polycaprolactone nanoparticles, antileishmanial activities, poly‐ε‐caprolactone nanoparticles, scanning electron microscope, DLS, Fourier transform infrared, release profile evaluations, Leishmania infantum promastigotes, Leishmania infantum amastigotes, parasites, infection, infection indexes, macrophages, immunomodulatory effects, time 288.0 hour, time 192.0 hour, mass 50.0 mg, mass 100.0 mg, mass 150.0 mg, mass 200.0 mg, size 200.0 nm to 390.0 nm 相似文献

We describe a metal-oxide silicon (MOS) phototransistor that relies on a novel lateral doping scheme that creates a p-i-n junction configuration for light detection. This is essentially a hybrid device with the horizontal structure of a p-i-n diode and the vertical structure of a MOS field-effect transistor. The lateral p-i-n diode detects light whereas the gate can be used to change the current flowing through the device; making it appear as a MOSFET. This feature makes it easy to integrate it with other conventional MOSFETs on a CMOS process flow. The device shows high optical responsivities that persist to wavelengths in the near-ultraviolet region. The fabrication of the device as well as its electrical and optical characteristics is described. 相似文献

A MATLAB-based one-way and two-way split-step parabolic equation software tool (PETOOL) has been developed with a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for the analysis and visualization of radio-wave propagation over variable terrain and through homogeneous and inhomogeneous atmosphere. The tool has a unique feature over existing one-way parabolic equation (PE)-based codes, because it utilizes the two-way split-step parabolic equation (SSPE) approach with wide-angle propagator, which is a recursive forward–backward algorithm to incorporate both forward and backward waves into the solution in the presence of variable terrain. First, the formulation of the classical one-way SSPE and the relatively-novel two-way SSPE is presented, with particular emphasis on their capabilities and the limitations. Next, the structure and the GUI capabilities of the PETOOL software tool are discussed in detail. The calibration of PETOOL is performed and demonstrated via analytical comparisons and/or representative canonical tests performed against the Geometric Optic (GO) + Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD). The tool can be used for research and/or educational purposes to investigate the effects of a variety of user-defined terrain and range-dependent refractivity profiles in electromagnetic wave propagation.

Partial Differential Toolbox and Curve Fitting Toolbox requiredComputer: PCOperating system: Windows XP and VistaClassification: 10Nature of problem: Simulation of radio-wave propagation over variable terrain on the Earth?s surface, and through homogeneous and inhomogeneous atmosphere.Solution method: The program implements one-way and two-way Split-Step Parabolic Equation (SSPE) algorithm, with wide-angle propagator. The SSPE is, in general, an initial-value problem starting from a reference range (typically from an antenna), and marching out in range by obtaining the field along the vertical direction at each range step, through the use of step-by-step Fourier transformations. The two-way algorithm incorporates the backward-propagating waves into the standard one-way SSPE by utilizing an iterative forward–backward scheme for modeling multipath effects over a staircase-approximated terrain.Unusual features: This is the first software package implementing a recursive forward–backward SSPE algorithm to account for the multipath effects during radio-wave propagation, and enabling the user to easily analyze and visualize the results of the two-way propagation with GUI capabilities.Running time: Problem dependent. Typically, it is about 1.5 ms (for conducting ground) and 4 ms (for lossy ground) per range step for a vertical field profile of vector length 1500, on Intel Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz with 2 GB RAM under Windows Vista. 相似文献10.

Summary The retention diagrams of benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, chloro benzene, n-propyl benzene, isopropyl benzene, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, n-propyl acetate, n-butyl acetate and isoamyl acetate on the polycaprolactone were plotted at temperatures between 70 and 140oC by inverse gas chromatography technique. Percent crystallinity of polycaprolactone were obtained at temperatures below melting point from the retention diagrams of benzene, toluene and ethyl benzene. It was concluded that the data obtained by inverse gas chromatography were comparable those of obtained by differential scanning calorimetry. Specific retention volume, Vgo, Flory-Huggins polymer-solvent interaction parameters, 12, the weight fraction activity coefficients of the solvents at infinite dilution, 1, effective exchange energy parameters, Xeff were determined. Later, the partial molar heat of sorption, H1,sorp and the partial molar heat of mixing, H1 were obtained from the slope of the logarithm of specific retention volume, Ln Vgo versus 1/T plot and from the slope of the logarithm of the weight fraction activity coefficients, 1versus 1/T plot, respectively. 相似文献
