This paper presents an improved automatic tuning method for stable processes using a modified relay in the presence of static load disturbances and measurement noise. The modified relay consists of a standard relay in series with a PI controller of unity proportional gain. The integral time constant of the PI controller of the modified relay is chosen so as to ensure a minimum loop phase margin of 30. A limit cycle is then obtained using the modified relay. Hereafter, the PID controller is designed using the limit cycle output data. The derivative time constant is obtained by maintaining the above mentioned loop phase margin. Minimizing the distance of Nyquist curve of the loop transfer function from the imaginary axis of the complex plane gives the proportional gain. The integral time constant of the PID controller is set equal to the integral time constant of the PI controller of the modified relay. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified by simulation results.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of centrifugation (9,000 × g, 50°C, flow rate = 1,000 L/h), as well as the incorporation of high-heat-treated (HHT) centrifugate into cheese milk on the composition, texture, and ripening characteristics of Maasdam cheese. Neither centrifugation nor incorporation of HHT centrifugate into cheese milk had a pronounced effect on the compositional parameters of any experimental cheeses, except for moisture and moisture in nonfat substance (MNFS) levels. Incorporation of HHT centrifugate at a rate of 6 to 10% of the total milk weight into centrifuged milk increased the level of denatured whey protein in the cheese milk and also increased the level of MNFS in the resultant cheese compared with cheeses made from centrifuged milk and control cheeses; moreover, cheese made from centrifuged milk had ~3% higher moisture content on average than control cheeses. Centrifugation of cheese milk reduced the somatic cell count by ~95% relative to the somatic cell count in raw milk. Neither centrifugation nor incorporation of HHT centrifugate into cheese milk had a significant effect on age-related changes in pH, lactate content, and levels of primary and secondary proteolysis. However, the value for hardness was significantly lower for cheeses made from milk containing HHT centrifugate than for other experimental cheese types. Overall, centrifugation appeared to have little effect on composition, texture, and ripening characteristics of Maasdam cheese. However, care should be taken when incorporating HHT centrifugate into cheese milk, because such practices can influence the level of moisture, MNFS, and texture (particularly hardness) of resultant cheeses. Such differences may have the potential to influence subsequent eye development characteristic, although no definitive trends were observed in the present study and further research on this is recommended.  相似文献

The development of stimuli‐responsive materials suitable for use in wearable sensors is a key unresolved challenge. Liquid crystals (LCs) are particularly promising, as they do not require power, are light‐weight, and can be tuned to respond to a range of targeted chemical stimuli. Here, an advance is reported in the design of LCs for chemical sensors with the discovery of LCs that assume parallel orientations at free surfaces and yet retain their chemoresponsiveness. The resulting LC‐based sensors are more sensitive and exhibit faster responses than previous LC sensor designs.  相似文献

Camcorder based video copy attack has become a serious threat to the electronic movie distribution services. Although watermarking is used to authenticate against such camcorder based copy attack, in the camcorder recorded videos, the embedded watermark suffers from several geometric distortions and temporal de-synchronizations. This paper proposes a watermarking scheme which is robust against the distortion due to cam-cordering process. Firstly, a comprehensive literature survey has been done on the watermarking schemes resilient to the cam-cording attack. Based on the existing limitations of the state-of-art literature, a watermarking scheme is devised to embed a watermark which is robust against to frame blending and projection attacks which are the major distortions caused during cam-cording. A comprehensive set of experiments has been carried out to show the applicability of the proposed scheme over the existing literature.  相似文献

We consider a finite element method based on biorthogonal or quasi-biorthogonal systems for the biharmonic problem. The method is based on the primal mixed finite element method due to Ciarlet and Raviart for the biharmonic equation. Using different finite element spaces for the stream function and vorticity, this approach leads to a formulation only based on the stream function. We prove optimal a priori estimates for both stream function and vorticity, and present numerical results to demonstrate the efficiency of the approach.  相似文献

Nitrogen fixation is crucial for plants as it is utilized for the biosynthesis of almost all biomolecules. Most of our atmosphere consists of nitrogen, but plants cannot straightforwardly assimilate this from the air, and natural nitrogen fixation is inadequate to meet the extreme necessities of global nutrition. In this study, nitrogen fixation in water was achieved by an AC-driven non-thermal atmospheric pressure nitrogen plasma jet. In addition, Mg, Al, or Zn was immersed in the water, which neutralized the plasma-treated water and increased the rate of nitrogen reduction to ammonia due to the additional hydrogen generated by the reaction between the plasma-generated acid and metal. The effect of the plasma-activated water, with and without metal ions, on germination and growth in corn plants (Zea Mays) was investigated. The germination rate was found to be higher with plasma-treated water and more efficient in the presence of metal ions. Stem lengths and germination rates were significantly increased with respect to those produced by DI water irrigation. The plants responded to the abundance of nitrogen by producing intensely green leaves because of their increased chlorophyll and protein contents. Based on this report, non-thermal plasma reactors could be used to substantially enhance seed germination and seedling growth.  相似文献

We consider a heat transfer problem with sliding bodies, where heat is generated on the interface due to friction. Neglecting the mechanical part, we assume that the pressure on the contact interface is a known function. Using mortar techniques with Lagrange multipliers, we show existence and uniqueness of the solution in the continuous setting. Moreover, two different mortar formulations are analyzed, and optimal a priori estimates are provided. Numerical results illustrate the flexibility of the approach. The finite element method has become a very powerful and popular tool to solve boundary value problems coming from science and engineering. Here, we consider a scattered data fitting method based on the finite element method and apply the method to remove the mixture of Gaussian and impulsive noise from an image.
