Estimation of Parameters of Universal Distribution of Moments of Failure of Products

A method is proposed for estimating the parameters of a mixture of exponential and Weibull distributions for which the accuracy of preliminary estimates obtained by graphical analysis is refined in accordance with the criterion of maximum likelihood. The efficiency of the proposed method is supported by the results of statistical modeling.

Rationalization of Sequential Monitoring of Reliability

A discussion is given of the problem of increasing the efficiency of monitoring the quality of industrial products for which the moments of occurrence of failures are distributed in accordance with a binomial law or a Weibull law with unknown scale parameters. A mathematical modeling method is used to perform a comparison of the properties of different criteria and a sequential criterion with parabolic boundaries of the acceptance and rejection zones is proposed which is most economic in a number of cases.     

A Statistical Physics Method of Electronic Device Reliability Testing from Working Data

A combined method is used to estimate the parameters for a mixture of exponential and Weibull distributions. Examples are given of the method applied in reliability analysis for high-power electronic devices.     

“Gradual cut-off” method of the sequential procedure in the case of a Rayleigh distribution

The effectiveness of optimum statistical sequential criteria for signal detection on the background of noise is studied when the signal and noise have a Rayleigh distribution. A sequential criterion with parabolic boundaries of zones that is sometimes more economic is suggested.
