A computation procedure for heating a wire is well known. However, the application of this procedure for carbon filaments being used as heating elements requires that certain corrections be made, because carbon filaments differ from a wire in their physical properties. Research performed allowing for these features enabled us to improve the computation procedure for heaters and obtain calculated data which were in good agreement with experimental data. Results of the work could be interesting for a great circle of specialists developing woven heaters. 相似文献

The upgrade of the diagnostic neutral beam injector RUDI in 2010 was performed to increase the beam density at the focal plane in accordance with the requirements of charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy diagnostics. A new focusing ion-optical system (IOS) with slit beamlets and an enlarged aperture was optimized for 50% higher nominal beam current and reduced angular divergence with respect to the previous multi-aperture IOS version. The upgraded injector provides the beam current up to 3 A, the measured beam divergence in the direction along the slits is 0.35°. Additionally, the plasma generator was modified to extend the beam pulse to 8 s. 相似文献

A cluster type NEVOD-EAS setup is being constructed by the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI on the basis of the Unique Scientific Facility “Experimental Complex NEVOD”. The NEVODEAS setup is intended for the detection of extensive air showers (EASs) with energies in the region of the knee in the energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays (1015–1017 eV). The key elements of the setup are 192 particle detectors for EAS electron–photon and muon components. These detectors are composed of NE102A organic scintillators and Philips XP3462 photomultiplier tubes enclosed in pyramidal steel cases. The techniques used to investigate the characteristics of scintillator plates, photomultiplier tubes, and NEVOD-EAS detectors, as well as the results of this investigation, are discussed. All measurements have been taken using special testing facilities and the precision URAGAN muon hodoscope, with which it is possible to comprehensively investigate the nonuniformity of light collection in the detector (the dependence of the detector response on the location of the passage of a charged particle through its operating volume). 相似文献

The authors discuss physical-mechanical properties of a new thermostable polycrystalline diamond composite material and its potential use in rock-destruction tools for drilling wells in hard rock. The paper presents the results of investigation aimed at clarifying the effect of dimensions of inserts made of this new material on the drilling tool performance. An optimal size of inserts to be set in the bit face has been established which improves hard rock drilling efficiency in comparison to conventional tools. 相似文献
