Gender-typed behaviors and interests were investigated in 26 girls, aged 2-10 years, affected with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) and in 26 unaffected girls matched for age. Girls with CAH were more interested in masculine toys and less interested in feminine toys and were more likely to report having male playmates and to wish for masculine careers. Parents of girls with CAH rated their daughters' behaviors as more boylike than did parents of unaffected girls. A relation was found between disease severity and behavior indicating that more severely affected CAH girls were more interested in masculine toys and careers. No parental influence could be demonstrated on play behavior, nor did the comparison of parents' ratings of wished for behavior versus perceived behavior in their daughters indicate an effect of parental expectations. The results are interpreted as supporting a biological contribution to differences in play behavior between girls with and without CAH. To perform a null test of aspherical surfaces we used a computer-generated hologram or a lens or a mirror compensator to compensate the aspherical aberration. When compensating in a convergent light beam the axial position of this hologram or compensator is critical. A holographic compensator to be used in the convergent beam of light was designed and constructed. We present a new technique for using the information of two orthogonal lateral-shear interferograms to estimate an aspheric wave front. The wave-front estimation from sheared inteferometric data may be considered an ill-posed problem in the sense of Hadamard. We apply Thikonov regularization theory to estimate the wave front that has produced the lateral sheared interferograms as the minimizer of a positive definite-quadratic cost functional. The introduction of the regularization term permits one to find a well-defined and stable solution to the inverse shearing problem over the wave-front aperture as well as to reduce wave-front noise as desired.  相似文献

The fringe orientation angle provides useful information for many fringe-pattern-processing techniques. From a single normalized fringe pattern (background suppressed and modulation normalized), the fringe orientation angle can be obtained by computing the irradiance gradient and performing a further arctangent computation. Because of the 180 degrees ambiguity of the fringe direction, the orientation angle computed from the gradient of a single fringe pattern can be determined only modulo pi. Recently, several studies have shown that a reliable determination of the fringe orientation angle modulo 2pi is a key point for a robust demodulation of the phase from a single fringe pattern. We present an algorithm for the computation of the modulo 2pi fringe orientation angle by unwrapping the orientation angle obtained from the gradient computation with a regularized phase tracking method. A powerful technique for processing fringe-pattern images is based on Bayesian estimation theory with prior Markov random-field models. In this approach the solution of a processing problem is characterized as the minimizer of a cost function with terms that specify that the solution should be compatible with the available observations and terms that impose certain (prior) constraints on the solution. We show that, by the appropriate choice of these terms, one can use this approach in almost every processing step for accurate and robust interferogram demodulation and phase unwrapping.  相似文献

Abstract

In the testing of deep aspheric wavefronts using the phase-shifting technique a CCD video camera and a digital computer is limited by the so-called Nyquist frequency. The Nyquist frequency limits the maximum wavefront slope that can be measured over the CCD array to π radians per pixel. A wavefront containing spatial frequencies beyond this limit gives a sub-sampled or aliased interferogram. If the wavefront under test is assumed to be smooth up to its first or second derivative, then it is possible to recover the deep aspheric wavefront. Here we present a new and simple technique to recover a deep aspheric wavefront under test whenever a close estimation of the wavefront being tested is available.  相似文献

Target-controlled infusion (TCI) is a new delivery system for i.v. anaesthetic agents with which the anaesthetist targets a plasma drug concentration to achieve a predetermined effect. With this system, the tedious task of calculating the amount of administered drug required to achieve the target concentration is left in charge of a microprocessor which commands the infusion device. TCI has long been used only by a few research teams, but this year a much wider field opens to this delivery system through marketing of Diprifusor, a TCI system specifically designed for administration of propofol in everyday practice. This article describes the rationale for administering i.v. agents through TCI delivery systems, the pharmacokinetic basis of TCI, the regulations and a broad overview of clinical applications, both recent and yet to come.  相似文献

Recovery from prolonged anesthesia might be compromised in elderly patients. Desflurane (DES) may be particularly well suited to achieve a rapid postoperative recovery because of its low lipid solubility. Postoperative recovery was compared in 45 elderly patients randomized to receive either DES, isoflurane (ISO), or propofol (PRO) to maintain anesthesia. Anesthesia was induced with PRO, vecuronium, and fentanyl and maintained with N2O, fentanyl, and the study drug. Times from end of anesthesia to tracheal extubation, eye opening and hand squeezing on command, and ability to state name and date of birth were recorded. Sedation and psychometric evaluation were tested 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 24 h postoperatively. Results are given as means +/- SD. Differences among were analyzed by chi2 or analysis of variance. P < 0.05 compared with DES was considered significant. After a prolonged anesthesia (199 +/- 57 min with DES), immediate recovery times were significantly shorter with DES than with ISO or PRO (times to eye opening: 5.6 +/- 3.4 min, 11.5 +/- 8.4 min, and 11.9 +/- 7.6 min; times to extubation: 6.9 +/- 3 min, 13.1 +/- 8.9 min, 9.9 +/- 6.5 min for DES, ISO, and PRO, respectively). Intermediate recovery, as measured by psychometric testing, sedation levels, and time to discharge from the postanesthesia care unit, was similar in the three groups. In this study, DES provided a transient advantage compared with ISO or PRO with respect to early recovery after prolonged general anesthesia in elderly patients. IMPLICATIONS: Recovery from prolonged anesthesia can sometimes be problematic in elderly patients. We evaluated 45 elderly patients who received either desflurane, isoflurane, or propofol for anesthesia. We found that desflurane provided a transient advantage in terms of postoperative recovery, but whether this difference is clinically important remains to be demonstrated.  相似文献

We present a two-dimensional regularized phase-tracking technique that is capable of demodulating a single fringe pattern with either open or closed fringes.
