In the present study,corrosion behavior of diffusion bonded joints formed between micro-duplex stainless steel(MDSS) and Ti6AI4V alloy(TiA)(at 900 ℃ for 60 min under 4 MPa uniaxial pressure in vacuum) was investigated in 1 mol/L HCI and 1 mol/L NaOH solutions using various electrochemical measurements such as open circuit potential(OCP),electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization(PD).For comparison,corrosion behavior of base metals(MDSS and TiA) was also evaluated.Bonded joint was characterized by light optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy using backscattered electron mode.The layer wise σ phase and λ + FeTi phase mixture has been observed at the bond interface and the bond tensile strength and shear strength were ~556.4 MPa and ~420.2 MPa,respectively. 相似文献

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopic characterization of the low modulus Ti–35.5Nb–7.3Zr–5.7Ta alloy has been performed
in phosphate buffer saline solution at 37 °C. Measurements were performed at various immersion intervals up to 720 h at OCP
and also at various anodic potentials up to 2 V. The alloy exhibits a two time constant impedance response at the OCP and
a one-time constant response at anodic potentials in the passive region. The thickness of the oxide film formed has been evaluated
and the electrochemical interpretation of the results has been reported. Cyclic potentiodynamic profile of the alloy displays
valve metal characteristics and the presence of a wide passive region that extends up to the maximum potential value of 2 V

The present work reports on the synthesis of indium intercalation compounds InxWS2 (0 ? x ? 1). The material has been characterized by X-ray studies for structure determination and particle size distribution, room temperature magnetic susceptibility, thermoelectric power experiments and conductivity measurements in the temperature range 150–300 K. These results have indicated that, like the host material WS2, the intercalated compounds also possess hexagonal symmetry and are diamagnetic p-type semiconductors. The activation energy for these compounds was determined from the conductivity data. 相似文献

Povidone-iodine and various bactericidal agents used in dental procedures may affect the corrosion response of an implant/prosthesis
in the oral environment. The effect of various concentrations of povidone–iodine (PI) on the corrosion behavior of a low modulus
beta titanium alloy, Ti-45Nb, has been investigated in normal saline solution. The open circuit potential, electrochemical
impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization measurements have been used to assess the electrochemical response
of the alloy surface on PI addition so as to effectively predict the prosthetic treatment outcome. As the concentration of
PI is increased, the corrosion rate decreases, suggested by decreased Rp values. Povidone–iodine acts as an anodic inhibitor by adsorbing on the anodic sites of the alloy. Addition of PI to a simulated
body fluid such as normal saline leads to a decrease in corrosion rate of Ti-45Nb alloy. 相似文献

The development of the fabrication technology of macro-brush configuration of tungsten (W) and carbon (graphite and CFC) plasma facing components (PFCs) for ITER like tokamak application is presented. The fabrication of qualified joint of PFC is a requirement for fusion tokamak. Vacuum brazing method has been employed for joining of W/CuCrZr and C/CuCrZr. Oxygen free high conductivity (OFHC) copper casting on W tiles was performed followed by machining, polishing and ultrasonic cleaning of the samples prior to vacuum brazing. The W/CuCrZr and graphite/CuCrZr based test mockups were vacuum brazed using silver free alloys. The mechanical shear and tensile strengths were evaluated for the W/CuCrZr and graphite/CuCrZr brazed joint samples. The micro-structural examination of the joints showed smooth interface. The details of fabrication and characterization procedure for macro-brush tungsten and carbon based PFC test mockups are presented. 相似文献

Qualification of tungsten (W) and graphite (C) based brazed plasma facing components (PFCs) is an important R&D area in fusion research. Pre-qualification tests for brazed joints between W–CuCrZr and C–CuCrZr using NDT (IR thermography and ultrasonic test) and thermal fatigue test are attempted. Mockups having good quality brazed joints of W and C based PFCs were identified using NDT. Subsequently, thermal fatigue test was performed on the identified mockups. All brazed tiles of W based PFC mockups could withstand thermal fatigue test, however, few tiles of C based PFC mockup were found detached. Thermal analyses of mockups are performed using finite element analysis (ANSYS) software to simulate the thermal hydraulic condition with 10 MW/m2 uniform heat flux.
