Abstract

In this paper we discuss detection problems for a high resolution radar. Fluctuation in the target radar cross section usually decreases the probability of detection. However, through integration of cells within range profiles of a high resolution radar, variation of the integrated magnitude with respect to the change of carrier frequency and target aspect becomes much smaller, and this is helpful for improving the probability of detection. Two detection algorithms, the cell integration method and the correlation method, for a high resolution radar are proposed, and their detection performances are compared with that obtained by a conventional low resolution radar. Some theoretical formulations are developed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.  相似文献

The need to develop safer and more effective antidiabetic drugs is essential owing to the growth worldwide of the diabetic population. Targeting the PPAR receptor is one strategy for the treatment of diabetes; the PPAR agonists rosiglitazone and pioglitazone are already on the market. Here we report the identification of a potent PPAR agonist, 15 , whose PPARγ activation was more than 20 times better than that of rosiglitazone. Compound 15 was designed to incorporate an indole head with a carboxylic acid group, and 4‐phenylbenzophenone tail to achieve a PPARγ EC50 of 10 nM . Compound 15 showed the most potent PPARγ agonist activity among the compounds we investigated. To gain molecular insight into the improved potency of 15 , a structural biology study and binding energy calculations were carried out. Superimposition of the X‐ray structures of 15 and agonist 10 revealed that, even though they have the same indole head part, they adopt different conformations. The head part of 15 showed stronger interactions toward PPARγ; this could be due to the presence of the novel tail part 4‐phenylbenzophenone, which could enhance the binding efficiency of 15 to PPARγ.  相似文献

The determination of the rotational symmetry of a shape is useful for object recognition and shape analysis in computer vision applications. In this paper, a simple, but effective, algorithm to analyse the rotational symmetry of a given closed-curve shape S is proposed. A circle C with the centroid of S as the circle center and the average radius of S as the circle radius is superimposed on S, resulting in the intersection of C and S at a set of points. By theoretical analysis, the relationship between the order Ns of the rotational symmetry of S and the number of intersection points between C and S is established. All the possible values for Ns are determined. And finally Ns is determined by evaluating the similarity between S and its rotated versions. In the proposed algorithm, only simple pixel operations and second-order moment function computation are involved. Several problems caused by the use of discrete image coordinates are analysed and solved for correct decision-making in the algorithm. Good experimental results are also included.  相似文献

An adaptive image interpolation algorithm for image/video processing   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Image interpolation is one of the key technologies in image/video processing. In this study, a new adaptive image interpolation algorithm is proposed. The objective of the proposed approach is to recover up-sampled image frames from the corresponding decimated (low-resolution) image frames. In the proposed approach, within each iteration, two proposed nonlinear filters are utilized to iteratively generate high-frequency components lost within the decimation procedure. Finally, a post-processing procedure is adopted to reduce the blocking artifacts within the interpolated images. Based on the experimental results obtained in this study, in terms of the average PSNRp (peak signal-to-noise ratio) in dB and subjective measure of the quality of the interpolated images, the interpolation results by the proposed approach are better than that by three existing interpolation approaches for comparison.  相似文献

The putative E1 of hepatitis C virus (HCV) was expressed in Escherichia coli using a glutathione-S-transferase (GST) fusion protein system. The full length E1 protein is difficult to express. A series of E1 DNA fragments was generated and used for expression vector construction. Fusion proteins containing the E1 C-terminal region could not be expressed. When this region was truncated, the fusion proteins were synthesized to high levels. The possibility of this C-terminal region hampering the production of fusion protein was further explored. A construct with this segment directly fused to the C-terminus of GST indeed generated no detectable recombinant protein. According to the predicted structure of E1, this region may have membrane-associating properties. The expression results suggest a general approach to facilitate the production of viral membrane proteins in prokaryotes. Furthermore, these recombinant E1 proteins generated as antigens were used for Western blotting with sera from HCV-infected individuals. It was found that E1 is antigenic during HCV natural infection.  相似文献

A method for the synthesis of millimeter-scaled graphene films on silicon carbide substrates at low temperatures (750 °C) is presented herein. Ni thin films were coated on a silicon carbide substrate and used to extract the substrate’s carbon atoms under rapid heating. During the cooling stage, the carbon atoms precipitated on the free surface of the Ni and formed single-layer or few-layer graphene. The result shows that the number of graphene layers might be further controlled by appropriate process conditions. In contrast to the epitaxial graphene synthesis on single crystal silicon carbide, the graphene prepared here are continuous over the entire Ni-coated area, and can be stripped from the substrate much more easily for further characterization. The large-scaled, low temperature and transferable features of our method suggest the potential for future graphene-based applications.  相似文献

In this study, a spatiotemporal saliency detection and salient region determination approach for H.264 videos is proposed. After Gaussian filtering in Lab color space, the phase spectrum of Fourier transform is used to generate the spatial saliency map of each video frame. On the other hand, the motion vector fields from each H.264 compressed video bitstream are backward accumulated. After normalization and global motion compensation, the phase spectrum of Fourier transform for the moving parts is used to generate the temporal saliency map of each video frame. Then, the spatial and temporal saliency maps of each video frame are combined to obtain its spatiotemporal saliency map using adaptive fusion. Finally, a modified salient region determination scheme is used to determine salient regions (SRs) of each video frame. Based on the experimental results obtained in this study, the performance of the proposed approach is better than those of two comparison approaches.  相似文献

Adaptive array has been used for canceling the interference in communication. When the array cannot suppress all the interference, an equalizer following the array can add to further enhance the capability of canceling the inter-symbol interference (ISI). The adaptive array and equalizer (AE) will suffer the problems of insufficient degrees of freedom and main-beam multi-path ISI. The hybrid of adaptive array and equalizer (HAE) uses a modified training sequence to adjust the weights of adaptive array that leads the array to cancel only the co-channel interference (CCI). The ISI are removed by the equalizer following the array. Thus, the HAE can combat the above problems successfully. Though the HAE improves the performance of AE, a transversal filter is added to generate the modified training sequence. Besides, the weights of equalizer in the HAE, which adjust after the weights of adaptive array, will make the convergent rate slowly. A simple hybrid of adaptive array and equalizer (SHAE) utilizes the output signal of system to adjust the weights of both the adaptive array and equalizer simultaneously. Therefore, the convergent rate of the HAE can improve by the SHAE. Moreover, the ISI can be suppressed by the equalizer instead of the adaptive array in the SHAE that will improve the performance of AE without using the transversal filter. As the mutual coupling present, the convergent rate of the SHAE will slow down. In this paper, a least mean square error algorithm with mutual coupling present is proposed to improve the convergent rate of SHAE, also.  相似文献

In this study, a new video super-resolution (SR) reconstruction approach using a mobile search strategy and adaptive patch size is proposed. Based on the modified nonlocal-means (NLM) SR algorithm, a mobile search strategy for motion estimation and adaptive patch size are proposed to reduce the computational complexity of the proposed approach and improve the visual quality of the final video SR reconstruction results, respectively. Based on the experimental results obtained in this study, the performance (visual quality and PSNR values) of the proposed approach is better than those of three comparison approaches.  相似文献

Vertically aligned conducting ultrananocrystalline diamond (UNCD) nanorods are fabricated using the reactive ion etching method incorporated with nanodiamond particles as mask. High electrical conductivity of 275 Ω·cm−1 is obtained for UNCD nanorods. The microplasma cavities using UNCD nanorods as cathode show enhanced plasma illumination characteristics of low threshold field of 0.21 V/μm with plasma current density of 7.06 mA/cm2 at an applied field of 0.35 V/μm. Such superior electrical properties of UNCD nanorods with high aspect ratio potentially make a significant impact on the diamond-based microplasma display technology.  相似文献
