Impairment to macula can cause loss of central vision. There are various macular disorders that can affect macular region and if not treated at an early stage can cause irreversible central vision loss. Age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) disorder is one of the most threading macular disorder. Bright lesion, drusens presence in macular region is known as the hallmark of AMD disorder. This bright lesion differentiation from other bright lesion like exudates is important for accurate diagnosis of AMD. Focus of this article is automated diagnosis of affected macular region by applying a hybrid features set containing textural, color, and structural/shape features for more accurate detection of AMD at an early stage using fundus images. These features also help to distinguish drusens from exudates. The proposed algorithm at first stage, detect macular region from input fundus image and then perform features extraction based on textural pattern, edge, and structural properties of macular region to classify abnormal macula from normal macula. For classification, we have used support vector machine (SVM), K‐nearest neighbor and neural networks but SVM classifier achieves high accuracy. The proposed algorithm is tested on publicly available STARE and locally available AFIO datasets. Attained sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of our proposed system are 97.5%, 95% and 95.45%, respectively, when applied on STARE dataset. When we have applied our proposed system on AFIO dataset, we have attained sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 93.3%, 92% and 92.34%, respectively.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Effect of 130 keV argon ion implantation on surface morphology and structural properties of polypropylene (PP) at various fluences have been studied using RBS and UV-Visible Spectroscopy techniques. It has been found that there is an increase in the carbon concentration from 33 at.% (virgin) to 46 at.% in near surface region of PP at 1 × 1016 Ar+cm?2 as per RUMP simulation. Also, composition, depth profiling, projected range have been investigated. The observed surface morphological changes points towards the carbonization in the implanted layer of specimen. These structural modifications have further been correlated with the increase in optical absorption and flattening of absorption edge as observed by UV-Visible Spectroscopy.  相似文献

RNA G-quadruplex (G4)-forming motifs present at the 5′-UTR of the protein phosphatase (PP2Ac) gene are the regulatory targets of the fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP), which is weakly expressed in Fragile X patients. Herein, we report that the existence of such G4-forming sequence represses the translation of the PP2Acα gene. This study opens therapeutic avenues to design small molecule ligands that mimic the function of the FMRP.  相似文献

Abstract

Si(111) substrates, having more atoms available at the surface, are currently being exploited for nano-device fabrication. Epitaxial recrystallization of Si(111) layers amorphized under 80?keV Ar+ ion sputtering at off-normal incidence of 50° with 1?×?1017 to 5?×?1017 Ar+cm?2 has been investigated. Good epitaxial recrystallization under thermal annealing treatment at 1123?K has been observed. RBS/C demonstrates nonlinear behavior of amorphized and recrystallized layer thickness with irradiation fluence. Considerable stress still remains in the recrystallized layers as revealed by Raman studies. The correlation of the induced stress with amorphization and recrystallization has been established and finally the recrystallization mechanism has been discussed.  相似文献

In the contemporary days, non-linear optical materials(NLO) are getting higher attention as per the increasing demand in optical communication and data storage technology. Consequently, they explore various physical properties of the NLO material for their industrial applications. In current report, l-arginine p-nitrobenzoate monohydrate(LANB) single crystals were obtained by adopting slow cooling technique. The structural confirmation of grown single crystal was carried out using single crystal X-Ray diffractometer. Presence of strain within single crystal was deduced using Hall–Williamson relation. Various defects associated within single crystal were assessed using high resolution XRD. Additionally, its crystalline quality was again confirmed by time resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy(TRPL). Using transmission spectra, the cut off wavelength and band gap of the host material was determined to be nearly 420 nm and 2.9 e V respectively. The dielectric property has been recorded by varying the frequency ranging from 50 Hz to 100 k Hz. The curve suggests that dielectric loss value is less at high frequency ensures the suitability of crystal in photonics and NLO based devices.The laser damage threshold values were also measured for single and multiple shots. Thermal parameters of the titled compound were calculated using PPE. In photoconductivity measurement, negative photoconductivity has been observed in titled compound. Microhardness studies were also performed on single crystal to explore its mechanical properties.  相似文献
