The objective of this note is to propose a method for stabilization of structurally fixed modes in expansions of LTI dynamic systems in the scope of overlapping decentralized control design based on the expansion/contraction framework, enabling successful design for a broader class of problems than considered so far. The method is based on a judicious choice of complementary matrices in the expanded space. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate simplicity and efficiency of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper presents a new perspective on the stability problem for uncertain LTI feedback systems with actuator input amplitude saturation. The solution is obtained using the quantitative feedback theory and a 3 DoF non‐interfering control structure. Describing function (DF) analysis is used as a criterion for closed loop stability and limit cycle avoidance, but the circle or Popov criteria could also be employed. The novelty is the combination of a controller parameterization from the literature and describing function‐based limit cycle avoidance with margins for uncertain plants. Two examples are given. The first is a benchmark problem and a comparison is made with other proposed solutions. The second is an example that was implemented and tested on an X‐Y linear stage used for nano‐positioning applications. Design and implementation considerations are given. An example is given on how the method can be extended to amplitude and rate saturation with the help of the generalized describing function, and a novel anti‐windup compensation structure inspired by previous contributions. In this paper, we consider the design of interconnected H-infinity feedback control systems with quantized signals. We assume that a decentralized static output feedback has been designed for an interconnected continuous-time LTI system so that the closed-loop system is stable and a desired H-infinity disturbance attenuation level is achieved, and that the subsystems’ measurement outputs are quantized before they are passed to the local controller. We propose a localoutput- dependent strategy for updating the quantizers’ parameters, so that the overall closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and achieves the same H-infinity disturbance attenuation level. Both the pre-designed controllers and the quantizers’ parameters are constructed in a decentralized manner, depending on local information.  相似文献

A note on the stability of fractional order systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, a new approach is suggested to investigate stability in a family of fractional order linear time invariant systems with order between 1 and 2. The proposed method relies on finding a linear ordinary system that possesses the same stability property as the fractional order system. In this way, instead of performing the stability analysis on the fractional order systems, the analysis is converted into the domain of ordinary systems which is well established and well understood. As a useful consequence, we have extended two general tests for robust stability check of ordinary systems to fractional order systems.  相似文献

It has already been recognized that looking for a positive definite Lyapunov function such that a high-order linear differential inequality with respect to the Lyapunov function holds along the trajectories of a nonlinear system can be utilized to assess asymptotic stability when the standard Lyapunov approach examining only the first derivative fails. In this context, the main purpose of this paper is, on one hand, to theoretically unveil deeper connections among existing stability conditions especially for linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, and from the other hand to examine the effect of the higher-order time-derivatives approach on the stability results for uncertain polytopic LTI systems in terms of conservativeness. To this end, new linear matrix inequality (LMI) stability conditions are derived by generalizing the concept mentioned above, and through the development, relations among some existing stability conditions are revealed. Examples illustrate the improvement over the quadratic approach.  相似文献

This paper attempts to set a unified scene for various linear time-invariant (LTI) control system design schemes, by transforming the existing concept of "computer-aided control system design" (CACSD) to novel "computer-automated control system design" (CAutoCSD). The first step towards this goal is to accommodate, under practical constraints, various design objectives that are desirable in both time and frequency domains. Such performance-prioritised unification is aimed at relieving practising engineers from having to select a particular control scheme and from sacrificing certain performance goals resulting from pre-commitment to such schemes. With recent progress in evolutionary computing based extra-numeric, multi-criterion search and optimisation techniques, such unification of LTI control schemes becomes feasible, analytical and practical, and the resultant designs can be creative. The techniques developed are applied to, and illustrated by, three design problems. The unified approach automatically provides an integrator for zero-steady state error in velocity control of a DC motor, and meets multiple objectives in the design of an LTI controller for a non-minimum phase plant and offers a high-performance LTI controller network for a non-linear chemical process.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of robust discretisation of linear time-invariant (LTI) systems with polytopic uncertainties is introduced. More specifically, the main objective is to provide a systematic way to find an approximate discrete-time (DT) model of a continuous-time (CT) plant with uncertainties in polytopic domain. The system matrices of polytopic DT model to be found are expressed as parameter-dependent matrices which are homogeneous polynomials of arbitrary degree with respect to the uncertain variables in the simplex, and is obtained in such a way that the norm between the system matrices and the truncated power series of the exact DT model is minimised while preserving the polytopic structure of the original CT plant. The solution procedures proposed are presented in terms of single-parameter minimisation problems subject to linear matrix inequality (LMI) constraints which are numerically tractable via LMI solvers. Finally, examples are given to show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed techniques.  相似文献

We develop a control methodology for linear time‐invariant plants that uses multiple delayed observations in feedback. Using the special coordinate basis, we show that multiple‐delay controllers can always be designed to stabilize minimum‐phase plants, and identify a class of non‐minimum‐phase plants that can be stabilized using these controllers.
